Aces High (Children of Bodom / Iron Maiden cover)

- This is the CoB cover of the classic Iron Maiden song, "Aces High". Compared to the original they upped the tempo a bit and of course there's more ridiculous guitar and keyboard solos...and harsh vocals. I had to bust out my Alexi V for this one since there's a lot of whammy work. A few mistakes here and there but I was pretty satisfied with this take (and it was the first one, as usual).
It's a song that gets me pumped so it's dedicated to a lot of people: my sister, who is having tough exams right now. All the beasts in the UCLA Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class who keep kicking my butt and encouraging me to aim higher, and especially those who are going to be competing soon. To Nergal from Behemoth for just getting out of the hospital - I hope you beat your illness! And to anyone else who just needs some energy and drive - keep on keeping on.
This was the last cover I planned to do in a while - want to focus more on compositions and playing with my seven-string, but who knows, you might see some more stuff down the road soon.

LTD Alexi-600 (EMG-HZ bridge pickup)
Crate GTX 120 (Lead Channel)
Ibanez TS-9 (gain just above zero, level near max).

I've gotten a lot of positive feedback regarding the solo and I think I did actually write down what I did (it definitely wasn't "note perfect" compared to the original recording but close enough?) so I'll resolve to make that my first tutorial.. maybe out sometime before the end of 2017?

@chazyfizle On the one I have it IS an original Floyd Rose but I bought that guitar in 2006 I believe so the specs MAY have changed since then, but honestly it's not likely. On the signature series ESP/LTD tend to use top shelf components. I'm even surprised with how good the passive EMG-HZ sounds haha, but oh well.

@FloydRoseDiscovery Well CoB might not be for everyone but if you can get past the harsh vocals and absurd lyrics there's some great melodies, riffs and pretty crazy technical guitar playing. I'm sure they intended this cover as a tribute to Maiden, they just played in their own style. I happen to like both versions - but if you prefer the original you don't need to resort to harsh language and personal attacks on CoB....thanks.
