    Great video! It is infuriating, almost insulting, that we are in public preview, a week or two before GA, and the number one reason for the existence of New Planner (Seeing all tasks assigned to me in one place) does not work

    • @MeeTime

      I do think a lot of software development now takes the "viable" out of "Minimum Viable Product"

    Drives me nuts that the ability to tag someone in the comments is not an option. We are literally in MS Teams, I can tag everywhere else but not in the task comments?? I get that you can assign but its not the same.

    • @MeeTime
      @MeeTime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is really annoying - I don't undestand why MS can't implement app-wide features more easily, i.e. the same comment/@mention behaviour across all their apps, deployed at the same time

    MS seems to release stuff waaaaaay too early. Loop was an absolute joke when it came out on preview, but it has improved a lot since. My only hope is that the new Planner improves a lot more despite the preview release being a let down.

    Fully share your assessment. I was very much waiting for the new planner, but am rather disappointed right now. Thought they would come out with a more ripe and integrated version…and not such a very early preview. But as you said: we live in hope :) So will wait a few months to see how it develops.

    For Project for Web to see the version history of a task you need a P3 license

    • @MeeTime
      @MeeTime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for letting us know, Chris. Annoyingly, even on the latest live interview with the Planner team, this is not explicitly stated in any of the comparisons of licences they showed, or on the Project pricing page: www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/project/compare-microsoft-project-management-software?tab=1&ef_id=_k_Cj0KCQjwq86wBhDiARIsAJhuphn9KiMXrJmVyje-pfLvzUOXohoHzBvgRHuUnHh4fvZsOJPHueRRJPYaAvqoEALw_wcB_k_&OCID=AIDcmm1tr7dx3b_SEM__k_Cj0KCQjwq86wBhDiARIsAJhuphn9KiMXrJmVyje-pfLvzUOXohoHzBvgRHuUnHh4fvZsOJPHueRRJPYaAvqoEALw_wcB_k_&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwq86wBhDiARIsAJhuphn9KiMXrJmVyje-pfLvzUOXohoHzBvgRHuUnHh4fvZsOJPHueRRJPYaAvqoEALw_wcB

      @@MeeTime Licensing is a mess, is the Planer Premium the same as the old P3 license? Who knows, Can my O365 users on out Tenant interact with tasks from the new Premium Planner, again it is not clear?, We are a large multi national organization and were told to get into Project for web and away from project online but it's very poorly executed.

    The templates boggles the mind. It is hard to understand what they were thinking there. The template feature came to Planner web - which DOES support backgrounds, but Planner in Teams does not, not even the new in preview one 😅

      @@MeeTime side question; I need to manage new Planner at the Powerplattform? And not in Project-online.. seems like they are moving the “project/planner backend” into powerflatform, like they did with Dynamic 365 couple of years ago

  • @delemtube

    The (small) company I'm currently working at is not very keen on Planner/Project or even ToDo. Only our senior PM has a Project License (dunno which). I was hoping this integration by New Planner was gone solve some problems, but it doesn't seem probable. I'm just lost with preview, premium, project for the web, planner for the web, whatever for the Teams. 😅

    • @MeeTime
      @MeeTime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah, the marketing and delivery is not really lining up at the moment. What might help, coming soon (apparently) is that if your PM has a project licence (assuming they are using Project for the web) that they can assign tasks to people without a project licence and your view will look like going into a normal Planner to be able to complete the tasks... in theory

    Question : Which "License" do i need actually right now ? Assuming i have an E5 - therefore i have Projekt on the Plan (and Plan 3) do i still need a "Planner Premium" or is this sufficient to create "Premium Plans" which are just Project Plans ? Thanks

    • @MeeTime
      @MeeTime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If you have project plan 3, you are good. Premium Plans are just renamed Project on the Web Plans (but confusingly only in Planner on Teams, not Planner web app or Project on the Web web app, which still persist for the rest of the year)

    is it true its no longer possible to use "comments" in the new planner which was one of the main features of the Old planner plans ?

    • @MeeTime
      @MeeTime  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I am pretty sure it is still there in Planner. In Project on the Web / Planner Premium, I am not sure. (As my New Planner has disappeared and Project is still stuck "Setting up Project" again 🤦)
      Comments were never as useful as they could be as they worked unintuitively i.e. only notified people who had already put a comment, rather than as a normal person would assume i.e. notifying the person assigned

    It doesn't seem to work for situations where I'm a guest in other tenants...despite being global admin in those tenants. Tells me to login when I try to open a plan and then just gives me a blank window. Would have expected nothing less sadly, because guest access seems to continually be the bane of me when it comes to Microsoft Teams. 😞

    • @lilpandacub
      @lilpandacub 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Invite yourself as an external user? And you probably have to be added to each “plan”. Microsoft is doubling down on Global Admin-role. It doesn’t have “that” much accesses anymore.
