- Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Senator Fatima Payman looks “innocent” and yet she is now part of a “dangerous” shift in Australian politics.
“Labor Senator Fatima Payman, she is now part of a very dangerous shift in our politics, it is this new tribalism that is going to set Australians against each other like never before,” Mr Bolt said.

As an Australian who was born in an Islamic country, let me be clear, a "muslim party" in Australian politics is a terrible terrible idea for many obvious reasons but most importantly of all, it will be guaranteed to attract only the most extreme elements of the muslim population, as moderate/sane members of the communtiy wouldn't have a need for a religioun based political party, all while also being the loudest and most visible section of the muslim population. This has bad idea written all over it.

Most people in Australia are not Muslim. Muslims do make up sizable minorities in some electorates, particularly in Sydney and Melbourne. I used to live in the Bankstown area of Sydney which has a large Muslim community. Wherever Islam goes, trouble follows.
