  • Not quite happy with the way things were running on the newly rebuilt bike carbs, I decided to take a look at the float and needle heights, as well as taking a proper look at the idle mixtures with a Gunson Colortune to get things running smoother. Little did I know, the carbs weren't my only headache...

    what did you use for throttle cable

      justin magana I actually used a bicycle brake cable cut to length. I cut the "nipple" off one end, leaving one to attach to the pedal, threaded it through the original cable sheath from inside the car, then on the carb side I used a "solderless nipple" to attach it to the carbs. If the original cable is long enough you could get away with just attaching a solderless nipple to the carb side. With the choke/fuel enrichment cable I just bought an off-the-shelf one meant for a car and fitted that in a similar way with another solderless nipple on the carb side. Lots of talk of nipples, but it's less fun than it sounds!
