KS is clocked higher than K and K is clocked higher than non K variant. People like to say there's no reason to get a K if you don't overclock but the extra clock speed and resale value is worth the extra $20-$30 that's normally between them.
@@telephotoIt's not just higher clock, but also unlocked multiplier. Simply said, non-K CPU can't be overclocked (I guess unless you mcgyver the BIOS or something). If OC is your thing (and on CPU heavy task they do show its impact) then get the K. In comparison, every Ryzen CPU can be OC'd, so this show the K designation is really stupid and really Intel's way to nickel and diming its customer (oh you want to OC your CPU, shell more $$ pls)

I watch hundreds of videos about building pc etc. This is the second I see explaining these intel cpu’s. Everybody mentions things about them like the generation, but few actually explain it. Somehow all these experts have a knack for leaving out basic essential info.
Just assume something don't have an igpu except for if the lettering suggests that (for ryzen par example, the - - - - g is a budget cpu with igpu, amd vega -)
H/HQ(HQ was given to certain laptops during skylake-era) is a mobile chip with a higher amount of power given to it, so it can get pretty close to desktop performance. So an i5-12400H will be... A bit under its desktop equivalent, but will be far better than it's U variant.
HQ was i believe to designate for the quad core variant, at least back in the days where dual core i7 mobile chips were common up until Coffee Lake (8xxx) finally gave quad core to the i5 mobile chips.
F = no iGPU K = unlocked multiplier X/XE = Highest performance + unlocked E = ECC S = special edition T = low power draw (desktop) Laptop letters: U = low power draw Y = lower power draw HX = Highest performance + unlocked HK = Higher performance + unlocked H = High performance P = High performance for thin and light G = Radeon iGPU
You'll also find "h" which is for high performance graphics. Usually in laptops with no gpu, or if it does have a gpu, it is meant for power savings when not playing graphically demanding games. Also T which is like the maximum power savings
@@senpai_san777 my guy he’s got a 4th gen i5 and a ddr3 system he could get a 4090 and he wouldn’t be able to use the full capabilities, and furthermore if he had the budget for a 4090 he would have a better overall Pc. Terrible recommendation, and finally the 4090 is NOT always better. Better is subjective. It’s the current fastest gpu but you need a Pc and power supply able to use it, and also someone that doesn’t know what pairs well with their system probably is at risk of improper installation with the 4090 which leads to melting. Even veteran builders have been dealing with that issue.

For those who wanna know what the “Special edition means” it’s essentially the same as the K but even higher clock speed then the regular K could achieve via 3Rd party overclocking, as All KS chips are PRE Overclocked from the factory For examples the 13900k goes to 5.8Ghz but the 13900KS goes to 6.0Ghz
It might be reasonavle to downgrade the 13900k so that you could by RTX 4090. You can go as love with tha CPU as i5 13600k without bottlenecking RTX 4090

Basically yes. H is high performance mobile (laptop) CPU, while P is high performance light-thin laptop CPU. So H is basically higher than P because P is designed for light-thin laptop which sacrifice some of their performance in sake of portability.

My chip i5-11400F but thank goodness I google what the letter mean and say that need gpu for it to work, so I quickly go to the mall and found computer store and bought whatever card they suggest to me, now I end up with RTX 4080 igame colorful (the card that caught my eye) and RTX 2060 (suggested card). Everybody forgot the T the lower TDP version and in my opinion better opinion for power saving cause i5-13500t 4.6 ghz on the P cores but only 95 TDP and the normal I5-13500 has 4.8 ghz p cores 154 TDP

If you want to use 1650 forever with i5 11400, then 750 watt is just too much a 550 watt psu will handle both of them very easily, but if you gonna upgrade your gpu in future than 750 watt is good psu

the performance between K and non K is quite close so i don’t think a slightly higher clock speed is enough to justify spending ~50$ more on a cpu.

for a 7800xt get a 7700X or a 13600K, a 13700K is only good for 7900XT/XTX

M is for a Laptop CPU that you can change ir for other (i saw it in Julio Frausto Channel, yes im Spanish)

@@titaniac3037 yes, it has a pretty low energy consumption. Even if I play games like R6 or Battlefront 2(2017) the temperature of the cpu does not go above 35C°

If you want to use 1650 forever with i5 11400, then 750 watt is just too much a 550 watt psu will handle both of them very easily, but if you gonna upgrade your gpu in future than 750 watt is good psu

Ya dont even metion H. H means high power mobile, often found in gaming laptops, sometimes also creators laptops and higher tier mini desktops. HK is well... unlocked laptop cpu. Most likely for a flagship gaming laptop.
