  • In Islam, the entity known as Iblis appears in several different perspectives - mainly in regards to how he refused to prostrate before Adam when commanded to by Allah. His refusal would see him become something malignant.

You missed the most interesting part how an Jinn come to hang out in paradise with angels. He was Allah's favourite cuz he praised him so much and was let to come to heaven. There is much much more. You need to revisit this. Anyway I love the stories of all religions. Keep it up. Great channel.

that story exists in all three Abrahamic religions, he probably already covered it in a Lucifer or genesis video.

The stories are parallel to each other, with drastic differences. So the fall of Lucifer does not simultaneously depict the fall of Iblis.

The tradition I read was that he was a jinn that was essentially promoted to the class of angel for his devotion and then cast to the earth for his pride when he wouldn’t submit to Adam in hierarchy since he was a unique creature, there being only one like him. Didn’t know there were other traditions. Always interesting learning what people groups thought about the beginning. So much overlaps, details differ but most agree on key aspects. I’m a second temple/Christian worldview guy but nonetheless interesting to hear what our Muslim brothers and sisters have as their traditions. God bless.

“And his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse Elohim and die!” But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Indeed, should we accept only good from Elohim, and not accept evil?” In all this Iyoḇ did not sin with his lips.”
      ‭‭Iyoḇ (Job)‬ ‭2:9-10‬ ‭TS2009‬‬
...it’s interesting that King Job of Edom spoke the truth about the author of all things...without sin...
“And all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all those who had been his friends before, came to him and ate food with him in his house. And they sympathised with him and comforted him for all the evil that יהוה had brought upon him. And they each gave him a qesitah and each one a ring of gold.”
      ‭‭Iyoḇ (Job)‬ ‭42:11‬ ‭TS2009‬‬
..they all learned something kings get to learn the hard way...
“Then he said, “Therefore hear the word of יהוה: I saw יהוה sitting on His throne, and all the host of the heavens standing by Him, on His right and on His left. “And יהוה said, ‘Who shall entice Aḥaḇ to go up and fall at Ramoth Gil‛aḏ?’ And this one said this, and another said that. “And a spirit came forward and stood before יהוה, and said, ‘Let me entice him.’ “And יהוה said to him, ‘In what way?’ And he said, ‘I shall go out and be a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And He said, ‘Entice him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.’ “And now, see, יהוה has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and יהוה has spoken evil concerning you.””
      ‭‭Melaḵim Aleph (1 Kings)‬ ‭22:19-23‬ ‭TS2009‬‬
      ...and Who does His will?
“With Him are strength and ability. The misled and the misleader are His. He leads counsellors away stripped, and makes judges go mad. He loosens the bonds of sovereigns, and binds a girdle on their loins; who leads away priests as a spoil, and overthrows the mighty; turning aside the lip of the trusted ones, and takes away the discernment of the elders; pouring scorn on nobles, and loosens the girdle of the strong; revealing deep matters out of darkness, and He brings the shadow of death to light; making nations great, and He destroys them; spreading out the nations, and He leads them out. turning aside the heart of the chiefs of the people of the earth, and He makes them wander in a pathless waste. They grope in darkness, having no light, and He makes them stagger like a drunkard.”
      ‭‭Iyoḇ (Job)‬ ‭12:16-25‬ ‭TS2009‬‬
...the misleader is His, Who created all things...
How does a man who trusts his Creator view any problem, with his eyes?
“For יהוה spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying, “Do not say, ‘A conspiracy,’ concerning all that this people call a conspiracy, nor be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. “יהוה of hosts, Him you shall set apart. Let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. “And He shall be for a set-apart place, but a stone of stumbling and a rock that makes for falling to both the houses of Yisra’ĕl, as a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Yerushalayim. “And many among them shall stumble and fall, and be broken and snared and taken.” Bind up the witness, seal the Torah among my taught ones.”
      ‭‭Yeshayah (Isaiah)‬ ‭8:11-16‬ ‭TS2009‬‬
“O יהוה, why do You make us stray from Your ways, and harden our heart from Your fear? Turn back, for the sake of Your servants, the tribes of Your inheritance.”
      ‭‭Yeshayah (Isaiah)‬ ‭63:17‬ ‭TS2009‬‬

I for one appreciate and will NOT pick you to death on tiny details or your pronunciation of names, places, etc. This presentation gave me a bit more insight in to part of Islam and their beliefs... and even how similar it is to the other Abrahamic "faiths", both having divisions on how you interpret virtually any subject.. and those that pretend to have the "truth" are playing the same ole game .. pretending to know things they can not know. Thanks again for another of your well done presentations.

My interpretation of this character (as a Muslim myself) is that he was/is a Jinn made of fire, and the meaning behind his words about humans being lesser than Jinn is basically an allegorical depiction of racism
To me, the whole story of Iblis and how he became cursed is deeply sad. No evil existed before him, so Allah must have created him (and everything else) out of His divine love, and yet, despite that, Iblis chose to hate Adam just because he was different from him. I think that interpretation is not only more plausible, but is a sobering reminder of just how far we’ve collectively fallen, especially in this day and age

The Mainstream idea of Iblees/Lucifer is that he was a Djinn created from fire and like Humans, they have the freedom to either obey or disobey God in this life. At first Iblees demonstrated high devotion to worshiping God until he was elevated to the same status with the Angles whom are created from light. When Allah created Adam he ordered the Angles to bow down to him, all did except Iblees, because of his ego, racism, and envy he thought he was a better creation than Adam.It is mentioned in the Quran that Iblees clearly stated that when Allah asked him why did he refuse to prostrate, he replied : "I am better than him, you created me from fire and you created him from clay". And because of this act of disobedience, Allah will punish him eternally in Hell and Allah knows that Iblees will not even repent, in fact the name Iblees in Arabic means : The one who is thrown out from the mercy of God" meaning there is no hope for him. Iblees as an act of revenge, actually I should call it act of stupidity has decided to persuade human beings to disobey and to disbelief in God/Allah. Let Iblees know this and he surely knows this but even if the entire human beings from Adam to the last person in the life of Earth has disbelieved in Allah it won't lessen or decrease even a size of single atom from God's kingdom. God has nothing to lose from people disbelieving in him, it is us who will lose heaven and a happy afterlife, it is us who will get punished in hell, if we took the road of Satan/Iblees.

There are many high creatures who accompany Angels, some of them might be as high and pure as an angel, they only want peace and high morals to be spread amongst creatures, some of them aren't that devoted to Allah as angels, but they're high morals and pureness is what earned them that place.
At a certain time, when Jinn used to fight each other continuously on earth (as they were the ones who's given the right of the surface, the right to the sunlight, to then green upper world) until one great battle happened, at that time and after many prayers from angel and some high creatures, asking God to stop those beings from destroying life on earth, many tribes of evil Jinn killed the peaceful one's, and killed other creatures who wouldn't fightback, because there were many creatures who saw life to be sacred and thus no being should harm another. so God answered their prayers, and commanded his arch angels to descend to earth and kill every single Jinn who want only ruin and fire on earth, and capture those who were fighting back (defending their land against the usurpers/attackers) to be questioned if they had a role in this madness that took decades of destruction and blood shedding, one of those Jinn was Iblis/Iblees, He was taken to a place high in the skies (not heaven, as most angels aren't given permission to enter the heavens, and there are great realms in the skies that we only know so little about.), to be questioned, he showed good intentions, and was against this war on earth and would stop it if he could, after some chit chat, angels were impressed by this creature, who had free will, yet devotes his will to do good, God saw and listened to them, and called Iblees alone, he started to ask him some questions, Ibless' answers were honorable and above all, honest, so Allah gave him an angelic-like features, Holiness, Wings, Light, and Knowledge, he quickly got himself to in a place same as the arch Angels, and used to attend a counsel that only Arch Angels attend, but the higher he gets, the more arrogance he will be, because he achieved things only very few creatures can achieve.
God knew that and gave him many, many years to leave that arrogance, and be humble, but Iblees was having to time of his life and wouldn't let anyone to take that away from him, he wasn't created an angel and yet he accompany not only angels or their leaders, but the great Arch Angels who were and are known in all worlds, so as a test, God Commanded the Angels to bow to Adam, including Iblees, God even gave Iblees a chance and a hint there, he showed the angels how wrong they were, and how he knew all, but Iblees didn't get that, or he did and wasn't willing to leave his arrogance and bow either way.
most people are familiar with the rest of the story, God banishes Iblees, He threatens to astray mankind and devotes his life to make sure that many follow him to hell.
Funny thing is that Allah never told Iblees that he will be in hell, he banished him from the higher/upper skies (residence of angels and other high entities) and until the judgement day, he will never enter that place, but Iblees was so angry that God would test him with such lowly creature, and that he even failed that test, so he started to drive mankind astray, teaching them all kinds of evil things for thousands of years, and this is why Iblees will be in hell, not for refusing to bow to Adam, but because he didn't accept the judgement of God, and making himself an enemy to this new race.
the morale of the story, we could be good inside, and sometimes the good guys are rewarded, with better life, health, money, but the one thing that we shouldn't do is to act as if we're the only ones who achieved all of what we've achieved, while most if not all of the successful people had plenty of help from others.
and above all, had a great help from God.
Because, Let's be honest, many times we face matters bigger than us, and we struggle a lot with them, but suddenly we hear a voice that guides us to the right decision, a fresh idea that we never that of just appears in front of us. we should be humble no matter how far we go.
It is a lesson that took Iblees hundreds of years and yet he failed.
    We can be better :)
    Allah bless you all.
As always, Amazing video man. best channel on TH-cam :D

@Maui Caui Dont be simple minded. Iblis wanted to be the vicegerent of God on Earth but God had other plans and gave mankind His Noble Spirit of great love, compassion and deep understanding so that we may serve other creatures in His Great Name. Thats why He calls Humans servants.
Iblis was given knowledge and man wisdom(Only those to whom gifted) and many scholars after gaining knowledge still lust after wisdom for it is the All Encompassing trait of God Himself gifted by Him to those worthy. Iblis wasn't worthy.
But Humans can still be lower than Iblis and even the animals because them being evil is not in their nature but their soul inclines to it never the less negating all of the Humans blessings(Love into Envy, compassion to selfishness, and understanding to ignorance) by God and exhibiting qualities less redeeming and reflective of the Creators Divine Will which usually results in them living lies and falsehood for it is the Intention of The Great One that is the definition of Truth.
And your comments about the Prophet do not subtract anything from the Honorific title bestowed upon Him by God. If You have any problems with Muhammad pbuh then i suggest you take it up with His Creator instead.

Of course, you have positive and negative effects on human...but demons were once angels who followed Satanael ("fallen angel", if you follow hebrew scripture) but jinn seem to be the same but mostly confined on earth. Jin are created from fire, angels from light, humans from clay.
Jin and humans have free will, angels don't have free will(their only purpose is worshiping ALLAH).
Jin populated earth before the creation of mankind and they misbehaved(killing each other, all sorts of bad things........)but Iblis was a devout worshiper of Allah So as a recompense Allah broth him to heaven.
After he refused to bow before Adam A.S Allah expelled him from heaven, and since then he became the arch enemy on mankind.

He was also given incredible singing ability which implies that not only was he a singing angel but that he could have led the angelic choir. It also implies he is the spiritual force behind music in this world that pulls people away from God as a form of bewitchment.

They claim not prostrating was a test, and that God forgave Satan for it. Wishful thinking on his part I'd say.
BTW they see Azaz'il (whom they'll never call satan aka enemy) as the leader of the Enochian fallen Watchers (egregoroi) and through this role the prince of the earth, while he also has a cosmic incarnation who is in the heavens constantly accusing mankind. This cosmic incarnation is called Lasifarûs and he's considered a fallen archangel.

Good job. I appreciate the efforts that are done in this video, especially that few resources are available in English, and most of them are in Arabic only.
When Allah created heavens and Earth and their creatures, he also created Angels from pure light and Jinn from pure smokeless fire.
The Jinn inhabited Earth, angels inhabited heavens. Jinns had free will, and this led them to abuse it and filled Earth with all sorts of evil. Allah used to send his angels to fight them, and in one battle they have taken a child Jinn as a prisoner, his name was Azazil. Azazil was raised as an angel by them, and he was the most clever, the strongest and the most beautiful one among them, of course, because he was of a different nature. When he became an adult and full-grown entity, he had four beautiful wings and was shining in beauty, and because he was a Jinn, Allah has sent him to fight the other Jinns who were still abusing the Earth, and he has succeeded in beating them once and for all, he did what every other angel was not able to do, he banished them to the isolated island and depths of forests and caves, and bound heir leaders with strong spells which only him was able to break them free.
He returned to heavens full of pride and arrogance. And was announced as the leaders of angels by Allah. Then Allah decided to create mankind from dust, he turned into clay and made a statue for Adam, then he gave him life. The angels objected to mankind's creation, for Allah proclaim that this feeble creature will inhabit the Earth, and they have already an old experience with what the Jinns have done there, but Allah insisted saying that he knows what they do not. When Adam was created, Allah told the whole angels, including Azazil, to tell him the names of animals. They were not able to do, then when Adam's turn came, he was able to tell every name of each, then Allah turned to the angels and said: "Have not I told you that I know what you do not know?". Then he ordered them to prostrate to Adam, all of them did except Azazil because he was so arrogant and proud, he said to Allah: "I am better than him, you have created me from fire, and him from mud". Then Allah cast him out of heavens after a long debate, and he went down to Earth and set the Princes of Devils free and gathered the castaway Jinns, and became their king and master, and established a pyramidic chain of power, where he is on the top of it, and started his war against Allah and mankind, and since then he was called by title Iblis, which means "The one who is no longer believe in God's mercy and forgiveness"

I think Vlad Impaler was talking about light and fire as a symbol, while Aaron Steele was talking about them in a scientific way.
Symbolically, light and fire represent different things in many cultures. Fire is usually seen as a symbol of destruction, while light is a symbol of creation.
Scientifically, while light and fire are still considered different things, they can both be seen as products of energy/heat at a fundamental level. For example, you can make fire by focusing the sunlight with a magnifying lens.

    • @sunnyboy4553
      @sunnyboy4553 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Vlad Impaler, you have some very interesting things to say. Reading what you wrote about Adam naming all the animals reminded me of the Mayan creation story, It also has some reference to the first human giving all the animals their names (I know, a little different - but along the same lines). What you wrote about light only being able to go in straight lines, as opposed to fire which has no specific course is also very interesting. Light can also be refracted, the lines split to go off in different directions. This can explain how different time lines can 'split off" from one single moment, going off in different directions. I also saw a science video recently on TH-cam which illustrated how spacetime - what we're immersed in - os neither space nor time, but something else altogether.
This science video that I saw a while ago also went into the fact that at the edge of a black hole, all time exists simultaneously. This made me think of Jesus and how He is purported to have said that He will come back at the end of days. If He exists in some spacetime like at the edge of a black hole, He is aware of all time, so He could perceive the moment in time when He will return. There is an incident in the Bible when the 3 disciples Jesus was with fell asleep, but one of them woke up unexpectedly and saw Jesus as a being of Light, communicating with 2 or 3 other Beings of Light. He made sense of this in the only frame of reference he had - that Jess was communicating with 2 Biblical prophets. I always took this incident to be evidence that Jesus was really a Being of Light, and in this incident, he was communicating with other Beings of Light He knew - not old time prophets. Maybe this reference to Christianity doesn't mean anything to you, but I was raised in the Christian tradition and these are the thoughts your comment inspired in me. I also have been very inspired by the present day Sufi mystic Llewelyn Vaughn Lee. Do you have a website or youtube channel? I'd like to hear more of your perspective and beliefs. Personally. I believe that Divine White Light - which is our essence and the essence of our Divine Creator, is also Eternal Divine Love.Thank you for your comment. One in Light from upstate New York US.

@@sunnyboy4553 Since you mentioned Jesus Christ, Christianity is the ultimate expression of our real existence, or at least what it should be, since the dawn of history the humankind was trying to communicate with supernatural entities to purify himself from the idea of being created from dust and mud, and throughout history many theories and religions tried to do so. But with the coming of Jesus Christ, which is his essence is pure light, humankind was at last able to reach this point of inside enlightenment and overcome his earthy nature by belonging to some entity more refined than him, it is God the pure loving light, imagine this: A clay jar but it is shining from inside to outside with light that does not belong to this earth.
      This is Christianity.
The Sufis try to reach this inside enlightenment, by trying to reach this source of world light and always speak about a certain spiritual connection between their souls and The Creator's soul, actually, they met The Holy Spirit, but they do not realize this, for in their poets they always speak about loving lightful spirit that touches their souls, and through it they are able to be one with God, this is the essence of Christianity.

Iblees was a Jinn. The most pious and devoted to Allah .
    He exercised pride.
There is no confusion in Iblees being a Jinn. He was . He was so pious he was given permission to dwell among the angels.
He refused to bow to Adam and disobeyed Allah .
And he is now man's biggest enemy .
There is no debate between wether he was a jInn or not. Nor was he the first . He was a very devoted jinn .

      @yheonmercado8506 5 ปีที่แล้ว

@The Grin Reaper What Nah bro, Dante is the son of a demon prince while also being the son of a human woman, while the God of the Demon world you're referring to is Mundas the King of demons (or used to be). Dante killed Mundas for basically trying to somehow open a rift for himself and his demons to take over the earth. Not sure what this EVA thing you're referring to, as there was no mentioning of this EVA you're talking about in DMC1 unless this is something in DMC5 which I haven't played yet.
Now the Demon world is just that...a world for demons, and it's not a Heaven for them seeing how they desperately want to take over Earth. It's just a realm similar to Hell or part of it.

I've never been a huge fan of post-Zoroastrian monotheistic dualisms, though the Yezidi faith puts an interesting spin on the "devil" story. My view is that what is ultimately numinous is beyond-yet-encompassing-of differentiated polarities such as light and dark, good and evil, male and female, pleasure and suffering, self and other, etc., and that theologies and myths such as this are symbolic abstractions that both reveal and conceal mysterious aspects of the numinous using the limited powers of human language and imagination.

King Solomon was gifted by God with the command of the Jinn, and it was they who built Solomon's Palace and Temple.
A genie in a bottle is a Jinn.
Iblis is to Satan as sheytan is to devil.
An angel and a sheytan are the creatures whispering in your ear while perched on opposite shoulders.
Shaitan, shaitan, sheytan are not Jinn.
There are four race of Jinn. Like humans, there are good and bad. Their society is much like ours, though where we see them not, they do see and do interact with our world.
Shadow people spotted in the corners of your eye may be Jinn.
Iblis became Satan at his banishment.
Satan nevertheless returns to the highest heaven even to the throne room where he accuses man of unholiness in the court of the Almighty, and does so unceasingly.
Pray for Iblis and Satan, and all creations, for their, your, our righteous return and eternal kismet in the company of God is our Father's truest desire. No sin will be allow to soil His perfection so get right kith & kin. Be righteous.
Peace and Love of Abba be upon you all!

For those who ask why God created evil and still do not understand free will. We have to understand our little mind can’t comprehend Allah’s plan. Us not knowing or understanding His {swt} plan entirely gives us a chance to prove our trust in Him {swt} If you feel Allah {swt} is unfair in anyway you most likely haven’t read the Qur’an. The Qur’an was sent as healing and mercy to all of mankind.
My reason for commenting is because I want u to imagine an eternity of bliss earned, verses an eternity of bliss just given to us for nothing. Which life do you imagine is best and most fulfilling??
Also humans love stories. We love bed time stories, books, movies, documentaries ect… imagine an eternity of stories told by all of humanity the messengers and the prophets. Let me put it this way, u won’t need a TV in Jannah, with so many amazing people we’ll all want to meet. Starting with our beloved prophet Mohammed (pbuh).
I just wanted to open your minds to life beyond this life. Allah knows best 🌹

Doesn't Iblis prove his point? Mankind wasn't to be placed in such high regard. For Angels would have to obey their commands while humans where way too young and foolish to be given that power (yet?). And since many follow Iblis, the point was made. Now Jinn's give you what you ask for, not what you wanted. So still obeying God's command to serve mankind. Although in a sly cunning way. For they can not disobey God. Free will is for mankind. So is Iblis bad, or is he proving, he was right all along?

Your comment is filled with false assumptions. Who told you God told the jin to serve humans? He only told them to prostrate to the first human Adam. There's no serving involved.
Also, you're naive if you think the jin serve you and give you want you ask for.
Do you know that in order to summon a demon you have to worship it and prostrate to it rather than God?
That will guarantee you hell unless you repent and never do it again.
These creatures don't serve you at all, in order to get what you ask for you'd have to become their slave.
Then they do some of the things you want or make you and the others see what they want you to see.

    Allow me to preface by saying I'm an Omnists who studies comparative Mythologies and religions;
Each religion is a PUZZLE PIECE that has to be assembled with the others to create a greater picture, but most covet their piece like its the only piece that matters.
In Christianity and Judaism, there are several devils/Satans.
The main Satan (The Dark man) is the "Grand Prosecutor". Its his job to build a case proving that humanity is now worthy of ascension = Iblis.
Lucifer is associated with the Grigori (Watchers) aka the Naphal (Fallen) and the Nephilim ("Hybrid bastards")
    = The Igigi of Mars.
Honestly people should go back and study Babylonian/Sumerian/Akkadian/Zoroastrian/Assyrian myths and religions which predate all these religions that followed. It provides context, and shows how these stories evolved. Context.
They lead into Greek, Egyptian, Hindi, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Mayan/Inca, 1st Nations and even Scientology.
Islam is the youngest of religions building off those who predated them.
Much like Christianity, even though Christianity is a watered down version designed for colonized conversion.
Christianity IS babble due to colonization and engineered paradigms. Each colonized region worships a different variation then fight with each other of who's right.
Then you expand to other religious dynamics.
Most religions seemed to be divided between worshipping either Enki (then Marduk) or Enlil, with an offshoot for Inanna.

Iblis isn't only used in Islamic lore.
Arab Christian lore (mainly Maronite) says that Iblis (إبليس) is an alternate name to Satan (الشّيطان)
It is written multiple time in the Arabic Bible, both in the new and the old Testament
