It’s the year 2323, and several devasting nuclear wars have rendered what’s left of humanity in a near totally annihilated state. In this post apocalyptic world, the apes have already risen to dominance, discovered the power of speech and fallen - their greatest legacy having been leaving the ruins of the Statue of Liberty sunken in the sand of a Manhattan beach. The mole people - mutant underground dwellers - also had their moment in the sun, so to speak, before being usurped by the K people. These lawless, marauding mercenaries are the survivors who currently sit atop the food chain, wielding their own form of justice with no accountability. Peanut butter has become a commodity more valuable than gold, used mainly as a 1500 SPS sun block. For obvious reasons, Crunchy is outlawed and the K people buy and trade Smoothy. The one who has accumulated the most of this precious condiment becomes the undisputed leader.
Due to the moon-like global landscape, all-terrain vehicles have become the transport means of choice and a line of rough but durable K trucks have risen to the status of being the most reliable. The K-7 has undergone dozens of transmogrifications and Immortan K, the ruthless leader of the clan, ordered the construction of what has become the instantly recognizable, unstoppable and iconic Wastelands war rig, the Giga-7. It’s a highly weaponized assault vehicle, capable of running over or through anything in its path. Two scrapped Porsches serve as side mounted protective armour, secured by chains. Rear mounted machine guns take care of any unfortunate tailgaters. A front mounted gatling gun housed in a custom turret eliminates any foes within sight, and 4 sidewinder missiles can vaporize painted targets far in front with pinpoint accuracy. But the main payload is the rear, upper bed mounted rocket launcher. Its legendary capability is enough to dissuade any would-be challengers, but when the red switch is flipped, and the rockets are freed to do what rockets do best, their target, or targets, instantly become stains on the scorched earth terrain. Two fleet cars - both stripped down Porsche 917s - flank the Giga-7 at all times, serving almost exclusively as emblems of prestige. Unsurprisingly, the Porsche has endured as the model of choice, for Wasteland autocrats and peanut butter gatherers all around what’s left of the world.

FYI: All of the Maple Leaf Customs finished projects that are kid-friendly are put in custom blister packs and go to my local Goodwill store where they are given to children for free. If there are parts that can be swallowed, those cars are given as gifts to adult collectors that are fellow enthusiasts.

I love this build SO much Andrew! The K-7 is one of my favorite castings (I’m sure this comes as a surprise to no one since I don’t hide the fact well lol) and I couldn’t wait to see your take on it. You did an absolutely fantastic job! The best part for me was seeing how much fun you were having doing it! Thank you for taking the Challenge and for all of the very kind words (and the No Drama Llama as well 😂). P.S. Seeing the JB Weld being brought out put a big smile on my face 😊

great work(s), love the detailing you did. porcupinign one's ride seems the most popular way to go about in the wastelands. :) I also like that you didn't shave off all the paint; not all wrecks are rusted into oblivion before resurrected and used. :)

An outstanding build, there was a lot of cool and interesting techniques put into this. It ended up being a complete monster of a machine and I feel sorry for anyone caught on the wrong aide of it, love the two companion cars too.

Ok. So by far this has to be one of my favorite die cast videos that I’ve seen recently. Having done a post apocalyptic k-7 I can appreciate the amount of work that goes into one, never mind doing two!!! This is outstanding!!

@@MapleLeafCustoms ~ fair enough. Used to have a few larger scale Lindberg Line car models. Their purple '77 Thunderbird and blue Datsun 240Z were a couple faves.
@@MapleLeafCustoms ah, that's where I recognized the wheels from. what I know of are corvette, mustang 67, dodge challenger, and this porsche, a 906. these models also came in kit form, together with a sprue with two offroad bikes in it. most you find around my place are dodge and mustang. :)
