Matchbox renovation of Racing Car Transporter No. K-7 Super Kings. Diecast model toy.

- The Racing Transporter is a large Lesney model from 1973. It was built on fast Superfast wheels as an extension of the 1-75 series. It is a futuristic vehicle. In fact, it was probably never mass-produced. You can turn on subtitles in your language with the action commentary in the video. The model was also equipped with a Formula 1 car, which is currently being transported by this truck. My copy was in fairly good condition, unfortunately it did not have the front suspension and wheels. Mainly in this video, I focused on making a replacement suspension from high-strength plastic and casting new wheels in black-tinted polyurethane resin. For a complete effect, I also made a cardboard box with a weight of 250, which I printed in a digital printing house. I remember getting this for Christmas in 1973 when I was 12. It reminded me of Gerry Anderson shows like UFO or Thunderbirds. I was delighted with it. Mine had the purple car in it. Great work as ever Paul.

This brings back memories. I had this one as a kid, I can remember the box so I must have gotten it new although I lost or broke the race car early on. I don't remember the tools in the toolbox being painted but it might have varied with production runs.
I used to open the gullwing doors and put 1/72 scale soldiers in there to shoot at whoever I imagined was chasing them. 😀

Great job Paul, you take me in to my childhood. This transporter was my favorite toy in that days. The only difference I have green single seater race car in the back. In that days I have many K7 series such as blue Leyland car carier with beige Ford Capri on it, red Leyland Fighter jet carier, white Mack with power boat etc. All gone :( I am still caring Jaguar XJ6 with Caravan and yellow Mack with Exavator in the back. I have also Honda motorcyle carier nearly broken without bike.

I've always liked this model, and had one as a kid.
There was also one for sale in my suburb a few months ago, and they were asking $150 in mint condition with the race car, but no box.
In the end, I didn't buy it.

Bravo ! Toujours super passionnant. J'ai 61 ans. Ces Matchbox étaient de mon enfance. En fait c'est au moment où la marque a commencé à faire des modèles qui n'avaient plus rien à voir avec la réalité. C'est d'ailleurs devenu de plus en plus délirant avec les dragsters et les hot Rod, certains inspirés de ceux de Ed Roth. Sont apparus les Hot Wheels avec leurs pistes orange. Je soupçonne ce modèle d'être dans l'esprit de la série des Thunderbirds ;) Merci beaucoup pour la vidéo.

ANOTHER epic restoration! And another great die-cast model I wish I could have again! I had some of the classic Matchbox from the 70's especially since I was a 70's kid. I loved Matchbox cars and trucks, some more than Hot Wheels! Those big rear wheels, the suspension, and the unique features they had. They may not have been as "fast" as a Hot Wheels, but they made up for it with better details, and some wild and bizarre models as well as some great licensed cars and trucks. Majorette was another great Die-Cast company. Their 70's lines were amazing, but I can't remember ever seeing them in a Store here in the Midwest. Somehow I had a couple of them and some other odd ball ones.

I picked up one of these at a "car boot sale" a few years ago. I remembered having one as a kid.
No box, but the windscreen and rear cover were intact (if a little smoky from microscratches). $AUD $15. Still had the little yellow F1 car inside it, too.
A dealer in "classic toys" had one "IN the original box" (box was munted to hell. Torn, no clear window) and all of the clear parts were broken (front windscreen was shattered, rear cover was cracked and missing a chunk) - and it was also missing the little racing car. He wanted "$150" because it was "still in the original box".
$150 is way overpriced.

Finding old pieces like these, that are still in "goodish" condition is like fossicking for gemstones. Occasionally you find a great one that needs a little polish but is otherwise fine.
Some others really demand a full restoration.
So much attention to detail. Great job on making the missing parts. I love watching your videos and how it all comes together, even the box. 💕😊

Top class resto as always paul usually the glass canopy is missing on this model im impressed how you made the wheels axle and suspension from raw materials the box is impressive as well you will need to find another racing car to go in that box as you've put it in the car transporter

Ech... Wspomnienia dzieciństwa. Jeden z tych "dziwnych" pojazdów, które rozbudzały wyobraźnię, a z drugiej nie pasowały do Matchbox-owej wielkości. Nie wiem, czy w części egzemplarzy wnętrze nie było malowane na srebrno. Tak mi się kojarzy z auta kolegi z podstawówki.

My cousin used to have one of these in black. I used to play it everytime we went them. It was a little bigger than Matchbox' cars and heavy, but more fun to play with.

every time I see one of these completed in its box, for a second it takes me back to 1979/80 in the Toy aisle at K Mart or Kings, looking at the Matchbox and Corgi cars, I was never a big hot wheels person because they were all fanciful cars, I preferred the real cars,

My grandpa has two of these in white, in pretty good condition because they've only been played with very occasionally, otherwise they've been in a rolling drawer under a bed for the better part of 20 years. I think both of them are mostly intact, just some mild cracking on the canopy and one of the little cars is awol
