My fa50 stopped running and I sprayed some carb cleaner up there and it ran again for a few days but now it’s back to not running. Great video for how to fully clean it
Hi, very informative video! I have a problem that fuel wont go through to the carb unless the fuel pump is in the prime position, if it is in reserve or on then none goes through? Any advice on what i should check? Thank you
@@RestoCycles hi, i ended up taking the lazy option as have become a Dad for the first time and i sold it for £450 as a non runner. A few days later got sent a video of it running 😁
Great video, thanks! Really useful as I'm re-building right now! LOL. Any reason why you didn't remove the valve assembly? (the brass bit you left in, into which the needle fits from the float). I think it has a rubber washer to secure it...
Yeah so reason being because you can simply just spray through it while it’s stuck in the carb. I’m sure more people the not would try to force it out and probably break it in the process. I PERSONALLY don’t see it necessary to pull it when you can just spray through it or let it soak inside the carb.
How did you remove the choke cable? I have the same bike and unscrewing the cable from the carb reveals the spring but I can't seem to pull the cable from the carb. Thanks.
@@RestoCycles No worries. I believe the mechanism on our has been tampered with as the prt that goes into the carb will not come out. Seems like someone permanently fixed the part that the cable attaches to in the carb.
I would suggest if you haven’t already bought a rebuild kit for it start with that. If you haven’t already cleaned it. It’s possible that the float is getting water in it and not allowing the gas to stop.
@@RestoCycles okay, so the floater moves freely, without any holes etc. what else could it be. i have used some brake cleaner and air to blow trough the jets or what ever. every little screw with a hole in it has been blown trough with clean air. after ive used the breake cleaner i use some motor oil to let the parst "soak" so the moving parts dont stick. im also mixing oil and gas
@@RestoCycles ture, was looking at where to get the Buckket-o-cleaner by me, then I no longer needed coffee to wake up! But great video, got an Fa I found and I just started the rebuild.
@@CharlesEzakichi I appreciate it a lot, hoping to make a lot more videos this winter. I have an absolutely stunning FA50 that I recently picked up. Hasn’t ran in about 10 years but I can’t stress how gorgeous it is. Excited to work on it and put up some videos
@@RestoCycles Mine some one threw out. It has no spark, low compression, the turn siglnas have been cut off, the electric is a bit wonky PDI is giving me strange ohm readings as well as the primary coil... the frame looks nice though.

Did you get it going again?
@@RestoCycles yup, had some trouble getting the spring part of the throttle cable out but I got it

I would start with checking out my other video on the petcock. Take that apart and clean that too. Good chance that it’s clogged!
@@RestoCycles thank you for your response. I will do that and let you know what happens although wont be for a week or so! :)
@@iCrazyBro no problem! Always happy to help! That’s why I made the channel.

I'm going to completely rework my Suzuki 50 cc soon, was given to me, been outside for years, have any tips ?
Yeah you can use treatland.tv and mopeddivision for parts

I’d have to look next time I’m around the bike. I forget how it is set up.

It could also be stuck due to just being stuck. Maybe try and soak it in some PB blaster.
i have a problem where my carb is slowly leaking from the port at the bottom, its leaking slowly but always forms a puddle. what could this be?
