Can definitely recommend the Toyota Yaris for safety; was in a crash 6 years ago where a driver ran into me at 60-70km/h & my vehicle was thrown into a tree. Super safe!
My Yaris' right side sadly looks like the left side in this video now. A few bruises and a scrape aside i'm surprisingly well. And yes, likely was hit with 50KM/h.

Just had a neighbor killed in a head on…her Yaris with a hummer. There should be a minimum size and maximum size for vehicles. Yaris, Honda fit, chev spark, versa, fiat, smart car etc all these are to small. I don’t believe these sort of crash test are anywhere near what the actual head on hit is like. The speed zone they were in was a 70km so impact roughy 140km, her car looked like a pancake
SUVs are dangerous for anyone not in a SUV but a 140km impact is fatal regardless of what car you drive as the G-forces are too high for the human body to handle.
dude you can't judge the safety of a car by looking at a video, these people have accelerometers and sensors of all kinds to determine if a crash is fatal or not.
Geri J. that frontal overlap and front crash will break your legs and make you hit your head lmao i sat in one the engines in your feet lmao. 5/5 more like botched.
Open the pdf crash report in the link below, which is explained more thoroughly: www.euroncap.com/en/results/toyota/yaris/29484 FYI, it gets an overall 83% safety rating for the passengers and driver during the frontal crash impact. Hmm, now... should I trust the verified expertize or should I trust the visual observations of absolute nobody?
szymon cesarczyk The star rating is based on how well the dummies hold up any injuries occurred. Being structurally solid in an accident is almost as bad as complete structural failure, because nothing has absorbed the impact and now your meat sack took all that inertia. A good example is to see the videos for the Smart car - a very structurally solid car but there’s nothing to collapse and absorb the impact. Or better yet compare with the Tesla video, the safest production car on the road with a 6 star rating, even that car has some form of structural collapse, they are engineered for this.
FIAT PUNTO 0 STARS AND THIS SHIT 5 STARS...................what's wrong in you? Ok Yaris got a very good electronic safe system but look at real important test...crash test means how much is the vehicle safe in case of crash and Yaris is less safe than a Dacia and the punto is so much safer
Punto is shit by default being a Fiat but, aside of that, stars are awarded depending on the amount of g-force transmitted to the dummies, which decides between life and death. You're an assuming illiterate giving lectures about safety engineering.
@@Gavichapyes i know it but also because Punto doesn't have elettronic systems like active brake but i still think this yaris that now is old must take 3 stars too much destroyed in the first test
@@Pier4216 Sorry dude, but it is the *force readings* on the dummies that award stars. The outside may be all destroyed but this counts for diddly as *any* car would be a write-off. Cabin compartment integrity is king, or else the dummies get squashed and the car gets *one* star or not at all.

so the lane system doesn't wrong, right??
According to the published report, it's an only an audio warning. So at some point during that kind-of-useless video clip, the car went "ding".
Driver pillar bended like 2000's cars and took 5 stars even the (0 star) punto has more solid chassis
It doesn't mean anything. It's the g-force transmitted to the body that counts.
Is not about how much damage the car takes, safety tests are all about how safe the passengers will be.
No front passenger airbag?!
Yes, the Yaris has one. But these don't open when they're not needed (when no one uses the passenger seat).
