    My car belt bearing make squeezing noise, sounds like a bearing runs without grease or oil. I don't know if this is belt tensioner bearing noise or generator bearing. Please let me know which part maybe broken, any advise or suggestion will be really helpful

    I had the same noise on my 2000 Corolla. I thought it was either the idler pulley or water pump bearing. I took a chance and replaced the water pump and that solved the problem.

      Hello Robert, does your car noise get reduced while the car warm up?Thank you

    • @robertlucier410
      @robertlucier410 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it did. Like I said it was hard to tell if it was the idler pulley or the water pump bearing because the noise was coming from the same area but it sounded more like the water pump so I replaced it and the noise is gone. I also did not have an m10s socket to remove the idler pulley bolt which has six slots in it so that also lead me to replacing the water pump first. I am still getting a very slight noise (barely noticeable) from the same area so I think I might just replace the idler pulley also but the original noise similar to yours is gone. The water pump was not that difficult to replace. Took me about a 30-40 minutes.

      Hi Fikri Elmas, I find out my car problem is due to belt tensioner pulley. I did another video about how to diagnose and replace the pulley. Hopefully this can help you. Here is the link: th-cam.com/video/KiRR0ZyAseo/w-d-xo.html

    A good test secret,pour water on the belt, if the noise goes away, it's the belt in not,it's the the alternator bearing.i always use a plastic Dasani or equivalent water bottle which is 20 ounce oz. 15yearsplus mechanic

    Sounds like the pulley bearing is up on it. It is bad. Or it's your tensioner, and it is bad. Scanner code for my vehicle shows P0012, same noise but louder then yours.

      Hello Martin, this is a pretty common issue for Corolla, I suggest you spray some water to each pulley or bearing to diagnose the issue. Most of people complains belt tensioner bearing, but mine is due to alternator bearing. If I turn on all the electric things(headlight , power inverter etc), the noise will become louder. All the best

    get a long screwdriver and hold it to your ear, then carefully touch the alternator and the compressor or whatever to see where the sound is.
    it helps to take the belt off, spray it with armorall, let it dry and replace.
    then you can hear the mechanical stuff much better.

    I had the same squenky noise n replaced the tensioner..the noise still exist.. Now thinking about the water pump pulley n the power steering pulley.. Can't really tell where the noise is coming from.. The problem with the water pump..the engine isn't overheating temperature normal.. The power steering operated smoothly without noise.. I used a stethoscope to listen for the noises.. Still looking..

      It's the water pump..oem Water pumps are designed to last at least 100,000 miles.
      While aftermarket ones last around 30,000.

    The sound is from the elongated belt. Just do tensioning adjust for temporary solution and change a new for the permanent solution.
    By the way, alternator's bearings are time to change as well..

    • @badandylaoc
      @badandylaoc 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      sounds like the belt tensioner? The rattling is the tensioner going up and down loosely and the sqeaking is belt slipping because not enough tension being applied. This is a common wear item on these motors.

      Change the serpentine belt. If it's alternator bearing, you should get a warning on your dash that looks like a battery.

      richard h not necessarily. My daughters alternator bearing was shot, but it was still charging the engine. It was a matter of time however before it was going to fail.

    m.th-cam.com/video/eJnxY7kM18Q/w-d-xo.html
    The car is very silent and it has more power for steep.
    The tensioner has 2 bolt, long bolt and short bolt.
    The mountain has 3 bolts, remove them in order to jack up the engine little bit in order to remove the tensioner long bolt. One of the 3 bolts didn’t have thread to fasten the mountain. I used new bolt.
    Thanks the tensioner does improve power of corolla.
