I don't see how you could sing that song and NOT get emotional! I do every time I hear it, it's one of my favorites as far as lyrics go! Brandon's an amazing songwriter, writes from his heart and soul!
What a gorgeous rendition of the song that keeps me going. Brandon shows so much emotion because this is wife's song. She has complex PTSD and he wrote this for her. Brandon and Tana and their three boys are forever. Brandon's the real deal.
I cried so hard when I saw it being sung live last night in Brisbane , I relate to this song so much and I know it’s for people suffering from depression , anxiety , ptsd and all of that also could relate to an addiction as I’ve gone through that shit too. His wife has ptsd , I have a major depressive disorder and anxiety which I have had now for 12 years .... this song feels like it was written for me exactly .... trying to tell people how I’m feeling and don’t give up on me just yet .. god i love this song ... I’ve been the biggest fan ever of the killers for 14 years exactly now and this one gets me every time
I suffer from GAD, and I felt the same way about this song. It’s truly beautiful and I’m glad Brandon cares about his wife. He reminds me of my boyfriend- he’s helped me along the way. Hope you are doing great, I’m learning about Major Depressive Disorder I’m class right now! hang in there
@@alanross2876 He talks about it quite frequently in interviews, especially when he's one on one w an interviewer (as opposed to being with Ronnie). He mentions that she has complex PTSD due to a troublesome childhood.
This album was out when my Gran fell and hit her head resulting in her death weeks after, this song resonated with me and it played in my car on the way to her funeral. I have had the pleasure of hearing this live.
Brandon and the other members have been through a lot over the years and yet they stood by their music. Yes they have experienced a "rut" maybe in their career or personal lives but they didnt give up making their brand of music for us. God bless.
Thanks so much Derek Cheung for your kind thoughts. That was how this song "spoke" to me personally tho I do appreciate that the other fans informed me how the song came to be:)
I was there, and saw them the night before as well. I have this too recorded, a bit farther away, but the emotion is so real and it gives me so much more depth each time I hear this song, it makes me want to cry. We all have our own things, and this is my new favorite song, which has always been Fix You by my other favorite band. Love the video, awesome view! Did you have any sweat rain? haha
Brandon's whole life is in his music. He's written many songs for and about his wife. They have an amazing relationship. He was on his Desired Effect tour when she was having a difficult time - he went to her. I was so glad I was able to see him on that tour. I'm selfish like that. I wish her the best as she is married to the best. If you're not familiar with Be Still (on Battleborn), give it a shot. It's a love song to his kids. I have 2 kids and it's a love song to them too. I play it for them every year on their birthdays (along with Forever Young by Rod Stewart). It's my favorite song of all time.
I was there and he was quite emotional throughout the night . He also cried during Dustland. I love his raw emotion. I FUCKING LOVE HIM.

Damn imagine someone caring enough about you to cry singing the song they wrote about you. Forever alone 😪
Seen well over a hundred bands and these are the best band I've ever seen live.
Absolutely beautiful

Esra Dogan im hearing you. Brings me to tears all the time.
I missed that concert. Did people scream, sing and dance? Brisbane concert are notorious for being too... sedate

I found this really moving. I also have PTSD like Brandon's wife who this song was wrote for and the words really hit the spot ❤

Me too, my friend. It's hard but we keep on going...for the beauty
Music is so powerful. I love the killers, my all time fave band. This is my second fave song from the album
Well now, that leads one to ask what is your first favorite from the album?
*I cried during the song too the first times I have heard it.
I tear up every time I listen to this song.
This song gets me in the feels every freaking time 💙

Grace Nora Rut is about Brandon's wife. She had suicidal thoughts. Have the lyric "Dont give up on me" The song isn't about there career has a whole,
Thank you Foxy Cookie for this info.
He wrote it from his wife's perspective as well as his. He is amazing. I saw The Killers on Feb 1 at Staples - it was life changing.
while brandon has said this is about his wife, i think it's cool that you have your own interpretation as well. i guess that's what music is about
Thanks so much Derek Cheung for your kind thoughts. That was how this song "spoke" to me personally tho I do appreciate that the other fans informed me how the song came to be:)
it's so good! thank you for capturing this song on video.
I guess singing Rut in Vegas made him very emotional...
D S it's about Tana- his wife, and her mental health journey 💙
Lara Jones I know, and Brandon loves both his wife and Las Vegas. That’s why I think it made him very emotional to sing Rut in Vegas
D S he’s from las vagas
he's so sweet

Igual la mía
Giving up is never an option....I'm too stubborn 😄 👊✊💜
It's a very emotional song 🎶

I am listening to the killers again. :). I write songs, and writing a song about your wife is very personal.
