This may be the best van builder I’ve ever seen. Respect when respect is due. This guy has next level ideas and any major companies who are making 30 vans a year should be approaching this man with 500k a year as their designer and R and D. Truly next level.

AND his interior designer. She designed the wholr look, colors, materials, shapes. They make an incredible team those two. He could make alot of money making versions of these and other designs with alot of the same principles.

Don't know what you ended up naming the van but every time I look at it I see Bedrock. I am a child of the late '60s and '70s. That ceiling is so yabba dabba doo along with the windows. Totally Flintstone.
Drawer lighting at the 8 minute mark is brilliant.
I like that it’s a kind of modern 70ish vibe, it’s really a vibe unto itself.
It’s very classy, reminds me of a yacht in a way, but also fun, creative & comfy.

This would make a great rental van (like a niche Air BnB). I think bookings would be great.
except for the fact that the shower is not the easiest thing to set up and put away, and . . . who wants to go on a vaca with a toilet that rolls out in the middle of a van. also, it s really hard to make the bed of a van with the converted dinette bed. Really hard. its a nice looking van, but the truth is that when you actually think of the liveability, you can tell that the creativity and art of the van was more of a priority than functional living.
@@jaytabac6525 that's why it makes for a better short term rental... you can put up with those inconveniences for a few days for the unique wow factor. I agree that long term livability is not desirable
@@michaelgiorgio7447 maybe you are right. its hard to say what another person would do. For me, my wife would never travel with a bathroom in the open. Nor would my son or daughter. For me, it's a deal breaker, but to each his/her own.

@@jaytabac6525 It’s not for me either, I don’t even want to use that shower, let alone share it. I do think it’s a better vacation rental than home, but with that kind of money you’d find me vacationing in a beach house, cabin, tree house, tiny home...
I love how humble Kirby is. He doesnt seem to need to showboat, his incredible design speaks for itself. Love that. Yes I was speechless too, probably the coolest and most original design i’ve seen. The organic shapes reminds me very much of architect and designer Antoni Gaudi, who’s astonishing work is all over Barcelona. Loved the soft feel and lighting. The slanted drawers were a cool touch, the magnets and of course the instant window covers, that was futuristic. Applause to Kirby! Oh and I have the nebula projector too, an incredible little machine. Much recommended.

Call it "Funkedelic Dream". Love the organic look as you put it, breaking away from the typical boxy look. The magnetic design along with the digital window privacy is so cool.

WoW! Shout out to his interior designer as well! That sandstone paint is incredible with the curved shapes. I thought I was looking at adobe or cob. Trying to guess how he did the curved shapes. Best guess is 1/8" plywood, since it bends so nicely. That inner bamboo trim just really ties it all together. Glad to know it's his 13th van so I don't feel so bad about my first! Nicely done!
It's like Flintstones meets Salvador Dali. I really love it. I think a shag carpet would be awesome.

There have been others that have done tippable solar, but as an ultra clean, production grade storage box option with the pop out Starlink that is pretty slick.
I love it love it love it. The color pallet is delicious. The magnet ideas are fabulous. The windows are so whimsical. And then the extras like slanted drawer fronts and imbedded lights. Just wow!

Everything about this van, this video, is PERFECTION.
This is Next Level. The Solar Sail solves a lot of problems with compact Van living. I have 1000 Watts of solar on my Ambulance, and that solves much of the charging problems. I should have extended the support rack height for the panels so I could fit my Max Air as well as having storage. This is the way to multi-use Solar and Storage.
I wonder how it does in the wind. 🤔
@@gufredd9675I'm sure the struts have specs for strength. Van lifers aren't usually hanging in super windy places. Otherwise, it goes down and is like every other van panels.

I'm awestruck by what this guy has done to his van! It has a retro-psyche vibe to it and yet so futuristic in its practicality. He was really smart to work with an interior designer to bring an already amazing concept to the next level. That Keith Haring-inspired ceiling and Dali clock are really delightful touches. Just can't get over how awesome this is. I need a magnetic ceiling and wall right now!

Love it! I'm feeling 80's with 70"s vibes. I was born in the early 70's but my clothes as a kid in the 80's were big bold shapes and bold. Feels is warm and rich! The 80's borrowed from Artdeco but not with so much of the smaller details but the flowy lines and odd shapes. This feels rich and cozy and makes me want to sit with that round pillow in my lap and drink wine... and ponder the my childhood. Everything here works as a design concept and is one of the best I've ever seen! The ceiling is killer! Thanks for sharing!

This is so different from the usual van builds. I really like it.
I've been obsessively watching van/bus build tours as my sister and I are planning to start converting one soon and move in after I graduate from college in a couple of years. It's so wild the things you can do with such a small space and these are giving me a lot of ideas. I absolutely love the vibees of this one and am definitely going to use this as inspiration. I love how round everything is. Usually these builds are pretty boxy, which looks nice but it's cool to see something a bit different.

That etch n sketch is from the 50's. I had one when I was a kid. Had to come back to this video. That build keeps ringing in my head. That's a hip mood from the 70's when I was a teenager when all that make love not war was going on! It was a cool era. Good job.

Yo, amazing! While I like watching videos about van life and builds, I know I couldnt personally do it. But damn! Does this van make me wanna live in it! The design and feel is sooo relaxing! I love that the shower takes up no space and the bed is the best of boty worlds with no effort need to switch modes. This van is relaxing, spacious, and minimal effort to get or move things. The solar panels are next level! I want this van! Whoever gets it is lucky!

Other than the shower and toilet layout this van is awesome. I would have definitely had a dedicated corner for the shower and toilet for more privacy. Only for having that special some one over or even a couple of friends. Again it's awesome though. Great build K!

Hot damn!! Sen-bloody-sational. I love love LOVE those gorgeous windows! And the arches make this an art installation for sure!
But for more user friendly practical reasons, The mirror arched wardrobe I woulda changed to an upright DC fridge and freezer, this needs ice-cream in the freezer in summer.. It has an echo of the shape of an ice-cream Van a little I reckon.. As it's under the couch cushions, anyone sitting there has to move before you can eat, (no midnight munchies with the fridge where it is! You need at least 3 hands to hold up the lounge cushion to get food out of the fridge/freezer. But if it's in a triangle between the sink, fridge freezer and your Cooktop (idid I miss wherever the cooktop is??) That ergonomic design layout of a fridge/sink/Cooktop is an absolute pleasure to cook in, with everything within reach, or only 1 step away ! You could use the hinged mirror door to give you PRIVATE toilet on a slider under the upright fridge freezer,
Clothing can be rolled up under the couch/Bed, perfect spot to access when you get up out of bed and, it is also a great spot for a separate dirty laundry tub, with a hinged lid UNDER the bed.
What was used as the timber on the thin vertical inner window frames? Is it Bamboo? I love the layered texture on the inside of the curvy window sills/ frames ?? Are they double glazed?plexy glass or ??
These beautiful curves and arches I adore !! Was this the interior designer ? Or Kirby's?? It's an architectural masterpiece of design, and quite an epic sexy features make this a timeless classic, 😮

I'm in love, this van reminds me of 'The Jetsons' cartoon, so I think it should be called "Jetson" or "Luna". It has totally inspired me as we are about to embark on our first van build here in the UK.

Being in my 20’s in the 70’s can relate to your style. 70’s but your a bit minimalistic version. Differently art piece. Like the Dali melted clock ( FYI I lived in the Village and knew him. We lived in the hippie way but a lower key from Ibiza ).

It is, except it seems that the water has to stay in the tray, which isn’t very deep. I’m wondering how that would be once it was full of water, to lift that weight - without spilling - to pour water outside or down the sink - unless I missed a drain or something?
