I don’t really know why, but this song…when I hear, I find myself fighting back tears. I’m not sure what these tears are for either. It’s like it hits some part of my younger self, almost nostalgic. I think it makes me aware of the tenderness that is lost to the rough happenings of life. I think maybe you, or at least I, trade in the dreamy wonder of life for the more grounded knowledge of life. It’s not that we are so much aware of it either, it’s a more gradual process I think. Maybe a lot of it is forgotten over time and with all the distractions that come with life, who could really blame you? But it’s when you hear a song like this it rushes over you in an overwhelming wave of feelings that hit the heart before it reaches the head. And it can leave you longing for something that seems just beyond reach, much less a solid understanding. And think that is what makes a great song. Beautiful imagery, sweet melody, building up of tension & then the eventual release. I truly love this song.

It's about love. It's asking a girl if she's gonna love you. It's so simple but brilliant to use dreams as the device. We all have these crazy dreams and then want to tell someone but you can never fully explain your dreams because there are so many random images.... it's so ordinary and that's why it's magnificent. Can we find a partner in life that loves us enough, that they'll listen and be interested in our ramblings? I'm dead it's so romantic.
