from what I’ve seen, most people get hired on as part timers, then you can look for full time openings through the internal Costco job postings. However, the busier the Costco, the more hours are given and people are hired, so you could score a full time role right away.

@@DevinDrumMaster they don’t really allow earbuds. They allowed Portable speakers for some roles. Yeah you can take unpaid time off, you can also use hours that accrue each pay period. Theres also various leave options like maternity etc… Hope that helps! 👊🏻
Does Costco offer 6:00-2:00 or 7:00-3:00 hours? Or even 5:00 to 1:00? I'm thinking of applying there as a full time stocker but 4:00 AM is a bit early for me and i really wouldn't wanna work any other department that isn't stocking
@@IsaacSeaver it all depends on the Costco your applying for. The hours vary. Typically when you begin it’s part time and the hours are like 5-11am or 4-10am. Busier Costco’s have even earlier start times, like 2 or 3 am. There were also about 1-2 days a month where we had to come in a few hours early, so 2am instead of 4am start time. Unfortunately there’s no way around coming in early, UNLESS you stock at night. Hope that helps, good luck 👊🏻
yeah 6 hours is part time. As an employee you can apply for other roles within the complany, part and full time. Basically if a role is available you can apply. As a newcomer, its pretty much whats available at each location. Make sense?

Hello 👋🏻 yeah there is a receiving crew, normally one guy who checks in the load when the deliveries arrive. Then a few fork lift drivers who unload. Most of the crew are Costco career type guys. Who have worked there for years. Definitely good at their job! I’m not sure the exact pay, probably somewhere around $24/25 an hour. Which is the top of the pay scale for hourly guys. Make sense? 👊🏻

Yes totally possible to work before store opening. I would typically finish at 9 or 10 am, which meant I was leaving as doors were opening. There are some heavy items, but in my experience, a coworker is typically available to buddy lift heavy stuff. Just a heads up, depending on the costco, you might have your hours cut as a part-timer during slow seasons. hope that helps! go crush it!
It all depends on what positions costco is hiring for. I was hired for evening stocking, but then got moved to mornings. So it depends on what’s available. And you can always seek for a new role in the store once you’ve been hired.
Basically to ensure items have been properly scanned, like no doubles or missed items, also helps with loss prevention, each day receipts have a new code so people can’t reuse them… 👊🏻😁
It’s both am & pm. In the evenings, it’s mainly prep work, and cleaning up while the store is open. Then after closing, the fork lifts come out and everyone gets to work stocking!
when you work at costco can you where a fanny pack as long it is on your waste ? when i ride the bus to work or ride my bike to work i use a pocket radio i keep the pocket radio in my fanny pack when i am working i dont use the pocket radio till i get off work?

It depends on the Costco, but when I stocked mornings I rarely had a full 30 hour week, it was more like 25-28 hours. I was scheduled 4-10am, and only when busy did I actually stay the full 6 hours, we’d normally be done by 9am
I just started working there not even 2 weeks in and my manager is already giving me an employee performance sheet to initial and had a discussion with me about moving “too slow” meanwhile I like just started and I feel like I’m busting my ass and worked at a supermarket before. He also is not pleasant to speak to and is always criticizing. Any tips ? I don’t want to burn any bridges with Costco but will do so if I need to.
ahh man, sorry bro. I noticed at costco that people will press the new workers, to see if they could make it pass the first 90 days. I might recommend asking questions, it helps the managers see that you really do care and can do the job, but your still learning. I would personally ask all the time, like how does this look? should I try it a different way? is this stacked high enough? Should I change the direction, etc... the job gets easier as you go, stick with it and you'll look back and realize it just took time. The nice thing about costco is you can always go to HR and request to move departments, or share in confidence if you feel like you are being mistreated. Hey keep going bro, you got this! Favoritism is no joke! You might eventually have to switch departments. I’d try to make some friends, get to know other managers. You can also check the break room or ask HR for other department opportunities around Costco. Even chat with the interviewer who hired you and ask how you can improve/get better at your job. The key is being a peaceful person and not burning bridges. You never know whose friends with you and burning one bridge could lead towards all kinds of conflict in the future.

good question, I think hourly pay rate varies based on cost of living and the city’s minimum wage. with that said, I believe all new hires for entry level jobs are not paid more if they have experience. but maybe it differs?
Yes! You basically need to wait for a full time spot to open, then you can apply and move to that role/department. They basically let you move wherever you’d like within the company. It might take time, especially if someone with seniority applies too, but yeah you can always transition roles.

No sir! Forklift driver is a totally different position that you would either train or apply for. Stockers only use pallet jacks and other simple equipment that does not need certification.

yes! They train for all the various roles. you can learn any department and then work your way up. Go crush it! 👊

Yup part time! 6 hours gets a 15 min break. Pretty much on our feet stocking for the entire shift.

yes! you can either wear it, store in your locker, or place it in the shopping cart that stockers use.

Maybe a few of the full time departments… like gas or bakery… but it’s not typical
