It's big but it handles very well on curvy roads and the track. I've owned 14s for 9 years and I wouldn't ride anything else on the street. I ride an average of 600+ miles on the weekends and the bike never fails. Comfortable, versatile, POWERFUL, and tons of fun to ride. I'm 50-years old and won't own anything else for the street. It's the perfect curve killer and highway ripper.

I ride one and it's surprisingly agile for it's size. You can't keep up with a 1000cc on the bends, but obliterates everything on straights and long bends.
I have a 2009 zzr1400 first zzr and unbelievable good road handling and very very fast I had yamaha r6 honda cbr 1100 suzuki gsxr 1000 BUT KAWI ZZR1400 IS THE BEST BIKE
I own the 2014 model zzr1400 and it is a phenomenal piece of machinery and an excellent drive and a very good tourin bike as well.I would like to own the new new 2016 model tough.
Even though I disliked the look of previous model ZX-14's, theres something about this new one that i love. Would be a great bike to compliment my 636, along with the new Z1000. All in Kawi green of course.

George Walker the bike company seemly have a agreement to not produce anymore than around 200bhp so I think that why they won't put a super charger on it
I was really hoping for more upgrades than a 'black and white cluster' and new front brake; quickshifter, Ohlins fork (fully electronic or not), cruise control and heated grips (ok, nice to haves at best), adjustable rearsets and a passenger seat cowl as standard on the Perf. Sport would have been really nice. Also, it's still quite heavy: a full line de-cat carbon Akra and lighter rims would have been interesting! I tested a 2015 a few months ago: sportier than I'm used to, but still comfy... very strong an super-smooth engine; not sure it beats the 'sensations' of my Diavel though ;)
Has the U.S. market ever had this model available? To my knowledge, we've had an SE version that includes the Brembos, but not the Performance Sport version with the Ohlins and Akra exhaust. Does Kawasaki actually believe it wouldn't sell in America?
I used to own the 2008 Kawasaki Ninja ZX14. I traded up to a cruiser, but thinking about going back to a new one. I would have hoped that in the ten years since the bike came out they would have put front led lights instead of halogen !!! a slipper clutch for crying out loud and a full lcd screen for rpms speed ect. Quit being cheap and cant possible add that much more to the price. I know I be willing to pay extra for what I want.
:( I'm really thinking about getting this bike soon. But, it would be my SECOND road bike.... Thats a little scary going from a Ninja 300 to the second fastest production motorcycle in the world. I would like a 636, but the price of a new one is only like 4 thousand cheaper than this. And this is one of the most comfiest hyperbikes in the world.
engine on this bike is said to be one of the smoothest so no problems here, then you also have power modes and adjustable tc shouldn't be a problem making the jump just be careful as on any other bike ride safe mate ;)
Kawasaki was litlebit (0.05-0.15seconds) faster in acceleration tests but Hayabusa was limited 2mph higer in top speed tests (184mph vs 186mph), they hit speed limiter pretty quick, it was ZX-14R vs Hayabusa vs some bike i dont remember then name of.
Does it mean that for 2016 there is not zx14 but ZZR? If true, I think it is clever move. As this is completely different machine, sharing name with zx-r´s line up was never right in my opinion.
People say that it looks to curvy and "outdated" but they have absolutely no idea what aerodynamics actually look like. Do you see aeroplanes with sharp edges? *no* because that is what is more aerodynamic (Fighter jets are angular for deflection of radar) Please research before embarrassing yourselves
+Motor Madness this bike was designed to compete with the busa which also has smooth lines but like most say the busa look is very outdated and doesn't have much of an advantage with aerodynamics when smaller bikes are achieving similar speeds with smaller engines and sharp bodywork design . if you like that look great but im one that also feels smooth contours on bikes make them feel really old.
Adrian Grigore Yes sirrr. A few weeks ago. I was n a long wide curve doing 140+ and was cool until I looked down and saw 140 or more. I couldn't see very well after.
Adrian Grigore lol I did 190mph 7 days into teaching myself to ride listening to lil wayne I'm me. you got to want that number drop the fear. I get it in at least once a day just to hear that high pitch whistle and the thrill of holding your head straight and eyes focused on the road and the moment you in 6th gear pull that throttle until you can't and live life and live in the moment listen to your bike take in the view ahead of you. and the joy of knowing only a certain few have been where you are today. that is why I love this with all my heart. but you can't have fear in this bike shit that will get you killed. confidence is your greatest weapon on a bike you could ever have. even when you fall just the thought of knowing you gone be okay and the confidence to get back up and do it all again.

Good move Kawasaki. Nice bike..

Oh...so the US does not get the Brembos or the Ohlins? They are surely not on the ZX-14. I wonder what the price difference is.
+mgelliott1 You get them on the Special Edition model in the US for 2016.
+mgelliott1 My 2011 zx6r has ohlins.
Why not produce a supercharged ZZR1400?
It would gain around 5-10k more price, look where Kawasaki H2's price is at.
George Walker the bike company seemly have a agreement to not produce anymore than around 200bhp so I think that why they won't put a super charger on it

Love it. But is it really THAT green?
Can it be a "Everyday Bike" ?
Can be used in street riding or like a Naked Urban Bike?
Has the U.S. market ever had this model available? To my knowledge, we've had an SE version that includes the Brembos, but not the Performance Sport version with the Ohlins and Akra exhaust. Does Kawasaki actually believe it wouldn't sell in America?
Apparently. I just bought an SE a couple weeks ago, but it would have been great to come with Ohlins and Akra too. Then I wouldn't have to upgrade.
beautiful bike.
Is this the European version of a ZX14R?
still no IMU? I don't get it.
I'll have to rent out the Bonneville Salt Flats for a day if I buy this thing!
All you need to max it is one mile of straight road... and a quarter mile to stop, but, unlike the Busa, the brakes are absolutely fenomenal.
Kawasaki 💚🖤
Check Engine light is on, I'd suggest taking it to you nearest Kawasaki retailer lol

I have a 2011 ZX14. I still have not gotten it pass 165mph.

Still a little bummed they haven't got cruise control on it though
True enough, but as you spend to bring it on par with options of the modern era, you start getting into BMW/Ducati spending money....
Yes but the appeal of these bikes are that if you don't want to spend the money, you don't have to.
You can upgrade your bike as you see fit, and in my mind, the more work you do to your bike the more personality it has.
Personality makes our bikes "OUR" bikes. I look at my Versys 650 and I see a scratched exhaust from when I highsided it after I hit a car that pulled out on me. I look at my Versys 1000 and I see that time I scratched the front-left indicator after I tried to fit between a gap or my sisters car and the garage wall. Look at my 250 scooter and I see that I removed the backrest because I am too big and it made me feel uncomfortable. I look at my 50cc scooter and see that the mirror is stuffed because my mum dropped it because she tried to move it away from where she was trying to park.
I look at changes in my bike as memories and the memories I see are great, they might be negative as I said above, or they might be positive, like the first time I cracked 100kph on the freeway on my versys 650. Or the time I took my versys 1000 on a test ride.
