Thank you for sharing this! It's so nice to see all these things I missed while I was filming my own footage. And thanks for the shout-out- I appreciate you and your channel!
:) WOW! THANKS SO MUCH for sharing and Video! I had no idea this was a thing, until I stumbled across this event on uTube :) So many machines and memories for me, and HAD to share with Daughters that grew up with Vintage Z80, 6502 machines :) ALL the BEST and Cheers from Left Coast! :)
Very glad that we got to connect at the show and chat a bit. Truly, it was one of the highlights of the show for me: the strong sense of community that we all have is what keeps me engaged and going in the hobby! Looking forward to seeing you at a future VCFMW show!!
Great meeting you at the show. Hope you enjoy the LED display, magnets, and keychains. Don't hesitate to let us know if you have any questions setting up your development environment for programming the LED display. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
Hello Ariana just found your channel and am now Subscribed. First of all, Sorry to hear about your fathers passing, I can relate I lost mine in 2004. I was at the VCFMW this past and it was an awesome show. You have a cool collection of retro stuff. I am working to fill my basement with tech as well. keep up the great content.
I wish I could have been there to meet you in person - in the thumbnail, you are standing next to one of my favorite TH-camrs - RetroTech Chris. He hosted me for my very first VCF meet (VCF East, in October 2021). Looking forward to at least getting to VCF Southwest again next year!
18:15 Awesome that you could come though. Adrian, Chris and Ron are good people, and these shows are amazing and all about having fun. I understand family situations or depression (similar issues here sometimes) and I know how that can take a toll on mental health and kill your motivation to really do anything. But these shows are a good way to disconnect from reality, hang out with really awesome people, enjoy really awesome things/exhibits and let loose, just have a little bit of fun! These kinds of events are amazing for the mental health. I almost didn't come because of work drama had me wound up tight, but I did anyways. It was one of the best decisions I could have ever made as this was my first time at the Midwest show, even if i brought COVID home 😂 I did the weatherstar/cable TV exhibit with a few friends and I enjoy getting together with them during these shows too because we are scattered throughout the country and I don't see them otherwise.
Watching all the videos about the show makes me realize just how much stuff I missed seeing. There was so much awsomeness I kept getting sidetracked as I walked around!
I think it is great that the focus of each of the videos has a slight bend to what the person is most interested in too. I have seen some walkthroughs that focused on AV which was great to see as well :)
Thank you for posting this. I'm always seeing more things I missed when I was there. Do you know the name of guy with the Atari 2600 kiosk next to your table? I bought a few desktops from him and would love to contact him to see what else he's got.
Just amazing, quite the trip down memory lane, some of these machines I've only read about in magazines, but so much of this hardware has passed through my own hands at one point or another too. Thank you for sharing this experience with us, and thanks to everyone whom does so much to preserve this history alive which is important unto itself. Just another thing to make me feel old but most certainly not in a bad way. Glad you went out to the show and hopefully had a great time there.
June of 'Nybbles and Bytes' is another "retro tech" creator - I met her at the renewed VCF Southwest a few months ago - Her absolutely fast QuickBasic programming on a PS/2 Model 77 is amazing! So I've met her and RetroTech Chris - and also (over the last few years): Clint Basinger from LGR David Murray of 8-bit Guy Jim Leonard, "Trixter", "MobyGamer" Kate Fox (and Maccy) of Macintosh Librarian David Lovett of Usagi Electric Marc Verdiell of CuriousMarc Taylor and Amy of, of course, The Taylor and Amy Show Mike of Mike's Mess Sean Malseed of Action Retro Bil Herd Jeri Ellsworth I missed an opportunity to meet Rebecca Heineman and Janell Jaquays at VCF Southwest - I'm kicking myself.
Oh I knew who he was believe me :) I may have been talking about LGR's table in the voice over of the footage but I was not confusing them. That was my second year meeting Adrian and getting some time to chat with him. I am a big fan of his channel.
I like those super tall Altec lansen speakers 🔊 super cool 😎

Nice recap and cool haul!
Thanks!
Great video and thanks for the tag!
My pleasure! btw when are you going to update your profile pic with your awesome viking hair and beard?!
@@MaidenAriana ok ok I changed it!
Really cool footage. Just one little note - you met Adrian Black as he was at Clint Basingers LGR tables.
Oh I knew who he was believe me :) I may have been talking about LGR's table in the voice over of the footage but I was not confusing them. That was my second year meeting Adrian and getting some time to chat with him. I am a big fan of his channel.
0:15 is that a Graphy 500 joystick in the upper left corner? Nice video and retro setup you have there.
No it is called a Winner 909. There is an IBM PC version and an Apple || version of it :)
Very cool!
