    I feel compelled to again give a nod to you as parents......one day in the distant future, Emma will be walking a path, swimming at a beach, or sitting on a porch....and suddenly, a smell, or a sound, or the shape of a tree, will magically transport her back to the exact moment that memory was created.....BEHOLD the power of memories.....something you have given her in abundance.....and will last her lifetime.....stellar job......thanks for the great content.....safe passages to all 4 of you

    First time commenter. Bittersweet day for me….been binge watching 3 episodes a day since episode 1 (while I smoke my daily cigar)….and I’ve finally caught up. Don’t know what I’m going to do with myself. 😂 I have thoroughly enjoyed your channel and look forward to continuing. Teal - you are a master craftsman and have inspired me to dry dock my little 25 year old 17 foot dual console this year to repair blemishes. You have a great family and I wish you well with your adventures.

    Sitting high on Compass mountain we have the star of the show! Nice to see. 13 PPM on the water? WOW! Nice. Our Durastill brings it down to 0 or 1 PPM but 13 from the delivery guy is really awesome. USA people are literally getting poisoned. Beautiful marina, great times, hope the engine problem is just a starter or ground.

      Basik is so light (8,500 lbs) that you can sling her almost anywhere. I just put my lift points down so that I could paint under the blocking. I do like the idea of marking the three cross beams and will probably do that.

    That cute 4 legged furry little dog named Compass, just totally makes my day. Him sitting on top of his bed. Well done on making it high so he can see out the windows. I made a box that sits along the entire back seat of my car, high enough that they can all see what's happening, it really made a big difference to their behaviour and stress levels, they just all sat and enjoyed the view.. Thanks for the vlog and really intense workload u all slowed through. Basik looks fantastic, u all deserve a big pat on the back. 🌈👍

      Electric leak from pontoon to water , making sacrificing anode eaten .

    • @PaulKling
      @PaulKling ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Teal was talking about a dock that is not properly grounded or leaking current into water. If there are grounding problems what happens is the least noble metal accelerates corroding. Once the zinc dissolves away the next metal is aluminum.

    • @SV-Flying-Tigress
      @SV-Flying-Tigress ปีที่แล้ว

      They don't have proper grounding / wiring and it creates electrical current flow in the water and that creates galvanic corrosion. The zincs are installed because they corrode more easily and sacrificially because the vessel's electrical system is grounded to the engine, which creates a conductive path to the saildrives and the prop shafts and props and through the seawater to other boats or electrical devices. If you don't have a zinc in the equation your important engine parts corrode due to the process. From the web: when two or more boats are connected to shore power, one side of the necessary circuit required to form a galvanic couple is provided by the AC green grounding wire, which is also connected to the boat ground system, engine, and underwater hardware. The seawater electrolyte provides the other side of the circuit. Galvanic current flowing around the circuit will corrode the least noble metal between the two (or more) boats, in this case an aluminum sail drive.

    @CaptainShack ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Are your drive legs protected if you run aground? Or is that not something you really worry about.
    I ask because I'm thinking about putting in some new pod drives and they would sit just slight under my cats little baby keels unless I find a way to raise them up in the boat about an inch.
    Been assuming having them protected is a big deal but then I noticed your boat seems to have the drives and the bottom at the same depth? Hard to tell from the videos.
    Loving this channel!

    • @OnboardLifestyle
      @OnboardLifestyle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We deploy our dagger boards while underway just enough to protect the drives at all times. Yes, they are still extremely vulnerable. But they also have enough benefits to justify them.

    @SV-Flying-Tigress ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Interesting zinc, what kind of saildrive/prop do you guys have; I have max props but the zincs look a bit different. Also, probably was a hot doc but another problem is if you remove the ground from the windlass, see if there is grounded current flow down the chain in the water. That is a hidden corrosion pathway that gets your chain. Also, looks like you have solid solar panels on your dodger, are they walkable or what do you do when you need to get up to the aft boom?

    Having followed you guys for a while I have to say it is disturbing to see just how much of a woman Emma has become because I have so many memories of the little girl. You are a great family.

      If you want a diaretic then just use the 1020 tds from the local water that has traces of fecal matter. That will clean out your plumbing.
