I feel you bro. Be the change you would like to see. As pepper farmers, or fruit and vegetable farmers, come together as cooperative society and sell together at a price that makes sense. Like OPEC does with oil. No leader will do that for you. Do it yourselves.
@@VeggieFadaWhat kind of reply is that? The market woman you're complaining about sounds like more of a go getter than you are. Probably why she got a bargain.😂
I never allow any market woman near me or my farm never. For beginer farmers please start with chilli pepper 🌶️. Dry and store and sell am small small. Stay strong vegy farmer. We feel your pain
Price standardization is the main issue here bro. So what i and my bro do is to take our produce to the market and sell it directly to household consumers.
I’m a farmer myself but how do you think governments can control prices.Cost of seeds alone is something else. The whole thing is the individualistic.Have we farmers ever thought of forming associations?
I feel your PAIN , at this point i don't think we have anyone who regulate the market , this is very discouraging and am sorry . I wish farmers Association can do something about this.
It's very sad bro, really really sad. This pricing issues was one of my major challenge last year when I was in Ghana to work on my habanero. But we are not giving up. I believe we will overcome all of them someday.
Stand firm brother, You young farmers of the country are our only hope the future of the country, this old men and women of the market is part of the problem, that is the generation which cost the downfall of the country, it the same generation who has been leading the country for the past 40years, but surely things will change
The market women have always been like this, that's what makes them so rich and influential. I suggest farmers organize something like a wholesaler market once a month at designated markets where they can sell to the public. This will expose the fraud going on
@@VeggieFada But this division of labour is making you loss income, according to your story. Just have someone on the farm that can sell your products on the market. Their main goal must be selling the products of the farm on the market. Especially if you bring it to the marketladies yourself. At the end of the day, you will earn more if you do it yourself. From my point of view, the market ladies depend on the farmers. Because what is a market lady without products from the farm to.
Maybe you said it and I missed it. What is a fair market wholesale price for this size pepper coming from the farmer? Is there a farmer to market broker system in place to transact the sales, although that extra step/person adds to cost.
Hi Bro, in UK here the farmers most them sell their produce at market no middle woman or man so they get a good money, you have to find a place at the market with your foldable table and you will be laughing because the money go straight to your pocket, no middle men. Also look for export opportunities as well. Don't give up, l can feel your pain but things will get better. God bless
I think what you actually mean is that you are disappointed in the leadership of the country and the administration. You can't be disappointed in an abstract thing like a country. It is people who live in the country and if you are disappointed in anyone just name them.
I am not from Ghana so I don’t quite understand how you do not seem to be able to sell or bargain for a fair price. My question is did you know what the selling price was before going to the market? If you can figure that before hand then you can avoid surprises. Also maybe sell more valuable products like cocoa… Just thinking out loud. Hope something can be done to make transactions more fair for the farmers.
Bro, very sorry it's so sad but what you lack is skill for marketing, connect your produce to the right buyers....go to the Hostels, restaurants, local chop Bars and fast food joints and you will make so much trust me, these are your markets ...I know you will thank God for this advice later. All is not lost keep it up.

Interesting observation

Thanks very much
Why don't you allow any market woman near your farm?
We should create a lot of farmers markets.
Yes
Price standardization is the main issue here bro. So what i and my bro do is to take our produce to the market and sell it directly to household consumers.
Price standardization is all bro
I’m a farmer myself but how do you think governments can control prices.Cost of seeds alone is something else. The whole thing is the individualistic.Have we farmers ever thought of forming associations?
You are a farmer, you can answer that question too
I feel your PAIN , at this point i don't think we have anyone who regulate the market , this is very discouraging and am sorry . I wish farmers Association can do something about this.
That’s an impossible task
Try selling to hotels and restaurants.
That’s the way we are going
It's very sad bro, really really sad.

Most definitely
Curious, why did you agree to sell it at 300ghs?
There’s no agreement, the cost of bringing it all the way back home after hours of keeping it in the bag will be unrealistic. There was no choice
Find ways to sell it yourself. Pack them in smaller boxes and sell them by weight or per box. Green pepper can be stored for weeks.
Sensible enough 🙏🏻

True
Why dont you get in contact to shoprites , Supermarket markets etc ,may be there will be a solution
Their price isn’t any better
Can't the farmers sell it themself on the market.
Imagine leaving the farm to sell at the market. Division of labour exist so we can keep the chain running

It’s not fixed as there are multiple factors contributing to a “fair price”
Guys, let us come together to support this account. Wisdom ❤🎉
Bruv!
Very sad story, bro. I feel your pain. Greedy market women. The same, your people will come after the government if he tries to do something about it.
Hmm
I understand you. We are very selfish and do not care if this country goes down. Sad.

Yes, that's the solution bro
I’ll look into that
Forming a strong association and watchdogs in the markets might help.
Sure could help
I think farmers should find a way of reaching the consumer
That’s the plan
We must find ways to by pass this market women
We must
My brother it will be better to farm chilli pepper and dry them so that you will not be under pressure to sell.
True
True
So you blame Ghana cos you couldn't bagain and well market your produce. As for this one I don't agree with you
You won’t understand but thanks

I can relate bro. Hmmm
I have actually lost hope
Don’t loose hope, find new ways to push forward

We are hoping things work around but for the meantime we strive for what we can get
Why don't you sale it by yourself
That’s one way we do it
Bro, I feel your pain, the market women are farming business, please I beg you not to fold up and move out of this country,
Not folding anytime yet, we must find a way to beat the system
It’s rather sad.
I share in your pain
Sorry about that
Thanks for your concern 😊

Marketing? No! It's a general structural problem. There's no standardized pricing system in Ghana.
Thanks very much for the advice 🙏🏻
