Marie-Anne, you are so adorable. I love your humor and how you run back and forth to show off your shoes. I am 70 but I hope to retire by the end of this year so I will be 71. QUESTION: what to wear when cooking and doing housework but still look stylish?! Love you so much 💋
Recently on a cold rainy day, I did something I have never done before. I spent a couple of hours with the clothes in my closet having fun and trying on different combinations of outfits. It was a good learning experience!
That’s one of my plans too. I won’t try to do it all in one day! Did you have a specific approach? My idea is to pick one item at a time and try it in all sorts of different combinations. And write down the ones that are a “wow”!
Yes, it is best to approach it in an organized manner. I like to put on a simple outfit that I like to wear, then first see if there is one item I can add to it to make it more interesting. A scarf, belt, jewelry etc. Then I switch one item as you mentioned, to find find different looks.
Perfect video! I retired and have so many pretty work clothes, but started wearing sloppy pants and, yikes, a sweatshirt. It looks awful and I am so glad you inspired me to dress more elevated and pulled together. I feel more confident, happy and receive better service at the shops. Keep making these videos because they are so helpful and inspirational!
Thank you for the livestream. I retired 3 years ago and am adjusting slowly. As you say, style is a journey and we are all constantly evolving. Thanks for all your advice❤
My husband just retired this past Tuesday! Envy, envy😊 but he deserves it. We can wear what we like in my office, and in winter I'm in good jeans, lots of cashmere and gold jewellery. When I retire in a few years, I plan on keeping everything as I love my clothes.
I’ve noticed that when I ‘make an effort ’ and dress to feel my best I often catch people noticing me and smiling. I really believe that we are spreading positivity and joy when we express true pleasure and joy through dressing! ❤
I can see wearing all these smart🎉 pieces anywhere, retired or not. And let's face it, the nicer we look the more respectfully we are treated. May not be fair, but its true.
Oh, Marian! I am retired and going through an illness. With shame I have to confess to you that the other day, for the first time in my life, I went shopping in my pyjama! 🤫 It was very cold, my spirit was at minimum and I had a hard time getting dressed. I put a scarf around my neck and an anorak over the pyjama. I exceeded my limits but I was so comfortable... I'm ashamed because I would be able to repeat the play and gain a liking for it. The saddest thing is that I have very nice, unused clothes in my closet. 😔 I loved your video, thank you very much, a big hug.
Bonjour Nina - please do not worry ma chère. It just goes to show how the way you dress is a function of how you feel 🙏 I agree with @Ren_coaching - it is a one off and use the experience to remind you of making the effort 🙏
When I retired, it coincided with a shift I decided to make in my wardrobe to natural fibers, so I got rid of my work clothes because they were mostly polyester. The only things I kept were my blazers.
Love, love, love your outfit! I’m still wearing my nice classic officewear and I retired in 2011. 🤷🏼♀️😂 I’m having a blast mixing and matching to fit any occasion, and always receive compliments when I’m out and about.
I feel terrible/guilty. When i first met my husband 27 years ago, he always dressed in suits which made me uncomfortable because i was always in jeans. He slowly gave up the suits and started wearing jeans as well mostly with nice polo tops. Now, I've elevated my style and he's in sweatpants! But, he is 92 now. Its just easier. He does compliment me on my dressing almost every day.
I missed your live presentation. I kept my work business clothes and use them. Blazers are something I use regularly. Blazers give me a finished look. Thanks so much.
This livestream was amazing. Love live shows in real time with great questions from the community and wonderful tips you provide always. You look so youthful, ma chère ❤
Perfect topic for me! Retired last year and am enjoying experimenting with my wardrobe and mixing items up! Some corporate office items I donated to a women's charity that supports women re-enter the workforce. Absolutely keeping my tailored trousers and blazers and button down shirts! However not wearing all together. Have found that I have definitely moved away from black! Was a favourite for work but not now!
On Christmas day, I bought myself a Christmas present ( I know it was so gross and bad of me for doing this) but it was irresistible, I bought a pair of never worn before Yves Saint Laurent loafer flats from Vestiaire Collective, and they are fabulous, and I got a good deal too!

My husband and I buy what we want for Xmas and we get what we want and enjoy….I usually get clothes and he gets new tools or clothes. You deserve to get what you really want! I got tired of returning stuff he didn’t like and I did not need a new necklace or earrings every year.

Many thanks for your work on the frontline during the pandemic Elizabeth 🙏 you will find that you will love most what suits you most 😃 thank you so much for buying my books 😘
I'm so happy to be 60 yrs old, and recently moved from size 12 to a size 6-8. I have my small waist back and now dressing and shopping for clothes is so much more fun because I feel soooooo good in my new, slim, fit body! Ladies, check out the Carnivore Diet and rid yourself of the extra tummy bulk! Good luck ladies, and thank you to Marie-Anne for helping us look and feel our best!
Marie-Anne, I always enjoy your practical suggestions! I retired just over a year ago, but due to some health issues that required daily physical therapy sessions for about 10 months, I always had to wear "workout" clothing. That meant gym shorts, tee shirts, and sweatpants... But now that I'm done with PT (yay!), you are inspiring me to dig into my professional wardrobe for better options! 🙂
Although this is after the livestream, I think the principal is the same…..less is more, good quality pieces, good fitting pieces, comifrom someone who works with animals and outdoors every day. Thank you for motivating me!!
I'm 74 5ft 3inch live in South Australia. Excited about this coming autumn/winter buying new long boots to wear with skirts. Love all your advice and the live streaming. Makes me feel like I have a friend visiting.❤ Janine
When I retired and the season changed, I put my ‘work clothes’ away and have not worn them since. I think I have been retired for 11(?) years. Time to donate/sell those clothes, yes? Now I am enjoying putting together items I have with a few new to complete the coordinated look. I have TIME!!! Enjoying it, too.
Go through them one more time with an eye to wearing them as separates before you donate/sell them Marilena 😃 you never know what gems may be in there 😘
As a teacher, I had a dressy casual wardrobe. I now wear dark jeans ,button down shirts, t shirts underneath when it is cold (20°F) sweaters instead of blazers, skirts and dresses. My shoes are good pair of sneakers, low heeled slingbacks, boots for the cold and sandals for the summer.
I gave my St. John suits away when I retired so that other women could wear them while they were still in style. The shop where I bought them had a program to pass them along to women entering the work force.
If you bought it because it was lovely and you felt your best self in it, why stop wearing it after retirement? I'm not at retirement age yet, but this winter I've started wearing my "work" pieces at home too. I was realizing that my "home" clothes were dull and uninspiring and they don't make my heart sing. I certainly haven't gotten rid of that wardrobe, but I'll wear my jeans for example with a nice cozy cashmere sweater. I'll wear my budget Uniqlo cardigan with a silk blouse - why not?
Totally agreed. I work from home 3 days a week and got tired of the boring sweat pants after almost 3 years doing so. I started wearing my nice work clothes, but the comfortable ones, mixed with the nice casual ones. It also helped me to realize which ones I really like. That helped me to get rid of the not so great ones. It is fun and a good exercise.
I’ve never heard of a style journal. I’ve had dozens of personal journals. Interesting. I’m glad there is always something new to learn. My style has never really changed since I’ve been very young. Classic style, which, in my opinion, doesn’t change too much, maybe updated. I will check it out. Thank you.❤️
I also had to miss your presentation, Marie Anne - an interesting topic, though! As a music teacher (stopping soon!), my work clothes are just whatever classic attire I happen to have put on that morning. As also a church organist (NOT stopping any time soon), I wear more or less the same sort of thing, just a bit more "Sunday best". The fun comes if I have a concert to do; then I can enjoy much more dressy clothes. The thing is, what I wear for concerts are often my go-to's for other evening events and that's when the dilemmas come in! 😊
@@Nicky-Music Yes! The church where my husband plays piano has a pipe organ, but the organist died a year ago and they cannot find anyone to play it. They were a very large church at one time, now very little attendance. The empty organ bench is sad.
After listening to you, I am planning my attire for the office while I tutor. Thank you for your inspiration. I have created a shopping list for items I need such as new shoes.
I missed your life stream, but I really enjoyed this video as it resonated so much with me! I retired last year and I made a few changes to my wardrobe. I have always liked dressing well, but got rid of those ridiculously high heels and mostly wear kitten heels. No more stuffy outfits for me, I want colour, comfort and style. I love the juxtaposition of wearing jeans with a classy shirt and blazer. Yes retirement comes with challenges, but I just love the time I have now to take care of myself.
I've been always wearing blazers and tailored trousers, as workwear but also on my days off, I just accessorized them separate and differently and changed the type of shoes to more casual. I guess, although I'm not retired yet, I will wear be wearing the same, after retiring. As you said in the video, "this is me, this is how I dress" for some people I may be too overdressed, but to be honest, I don't care.😂😂😂 Btw, I keep a tracking of my looks and "capsule wardrobes" with the Openwardrobe App, it is very practical especially for travelling, you have all the looks on one glance at your mobile phone. Best Regard from Spain, besos, Sonia
I dress better now than I ever did. I love my suit jackets which I incorporate with a dress, or with jeans during my every day, casual life now. I have much more time to spend on myself now and I love ironing my clothes, and taking better care of my clothes and myself.
Unfortunately, I truly believe that these individuals who are wearing the CROCS with socks actually think they are being ironically cool, like, " These are so ugly.... that... I am amazing.." @@MarieAnneLecoeur
I retired from a job where I dressed professionally. I can still wear the separates but not sure what to do with dresses. I refuse to be the retired lady who wears fleece and knit pants.
Had a giggle at your comment on not wearing the outfit you wear to walk the dogs and also on a lunch date with your husband…… I agree - I walk our 4 dogs most days and would change into something a little nicer for a lunch date- casual but pretty.
It is a mystery to me Clare why I get so many people commenting about the style advice I give that they would not wear what I suggest when they are hiking in the forest, white water rafting or in sub zero temperatures 🤷♀️ as if that is the rational for this channel 🙄
When I was working outside the home as a lab tech in a university science lab, my "uniform" was jeans. Now, I would really like to get out of jeans, at least sometimes, and wear fashions, especially feminine, that I did not have time or place for previously. Here are some places that I need nice new clothes for: synagogue (for others, church); civic meetings (be the best-dressed person in the room); book club (ditto); theater and concerts; sadly, funerals. Or, just about anywhere, even walks with the dog or to the grocery store. I have visited the post office and turned heads with a wonderful coat I bought on Ebay for 1/3 the price. I think we should be role models... don't become sloppy just because you are not working!
I retired two years ago and all I kept was one black dress pants and two shirt blouses, one white and one with blue & white stripes. I donated the rest. I live in the USA and dressing is very casual. I found there was nowhere I needed to wear a formal jacket. I am currently looking in consignment stores for a relaxed navy knit jersey jacket to replace my work ones.
Mine workclothes where Jeans Sweatshirt Shirts and a cardigan. The name of the Firma Watson the Shirts, so idonated all the Shirts. On the Jeans i blacked the logo’s. And Knitted a Pocket over the cardigan logo. I still wear the jeans and cardigan them are warm.😮
I really regretted getting rid of my beautiful wool blazers when I retired. I got rid of all my office-worthy clothes and just wore leggings, hoodies and tees for a while. Yes, it was comfortable, but it took away all the pleasure I had previously got from my wardrobe. Eventually I realized that I still wanted proper day clothes. I never stopped wanting to wear blazers, I just didn’t wear them as suits with the matching pencil skirts. I can’t find the same quality today, at any price. (I was forced into early retirement around 2000 because of a medical condition). A well-made 100% wool blazer with a breathable lining, like the ones I had for work, is super-difficult to find nowadays, everything is polyester, even expensive brands. Theory and sometimes Banana Republic have some. I wish, MA, you would give us a list of Euro brands that make high-quality coats, blazers, etc., like your beautiful blue plaid one. I tried to get that one, but it was already sold out.
Marie-Anne, I am so curious to “meet” your husband! He seems so wonderful and supportive. Could you introduce him to your chic-loving audience sometime? 😊
I agree with you don’t ever worry about “dressing like everyone else” try to assess the event and form an image of how I’d like it to be then try to dress accordingly Haha, I’m often wrong, but I enjoy the fun.
I have been retired for over 4 years now. I am a lover of blazer so still have many but I wear them with everything. Can dress the up or down with jeans, etc.
I generally am the one who dresses with care, in a sea of people who don't care about what they wear. I dress for myself and to feel good and I don't worry about what others are wearing or what they think of me. Dress for yourselves, ladies!
SO I do not own a pair of pants. I only wear skirts and dresses. I also do not own a pair of sneakers. I think they are frumpy. I live alone and get dressed and made up every morning and make my bed. And it is for me. I am 80. I also don’t own a blazer as,they don’t suit me. I am told that I have good style and everyone says I always look good. 🥰
Since the start of the COVID lockdowns I mostly work from home. I also only social8w once or twice on the weekends. So I’m home alone mostly. I don’t have a huge wardrobe but I have more than I need. I can’t bring myself to get rid of all of it. Or even most of it. I’ve donated some of it.
Hi Marie-Ann: Thanks for the great advice that you give, they come from your heart! I’m hooked on you thru my daughter. She is the one that found you! Yay! I have learned a lot about style from you! I re-arrange my closed and have all my camisoles. short sleeves, dresses, etc all by color, how easy it is to find what I want! We love and appreciate you! ❤
Bonjour Katarina light duties like cooking, dusting, hoovering I just wear what I wear and maybe put on an apron - anything using chemicals I wear old clothes for outside tasks like doing the horses, chickens, walking dogs and chainsawing logs (yes seriously) I have my outdoor gear 👷♀️
Just a couple of comments for your video: just because you are retired and at home, don't wear the same clothes two days in a row! Also put your makeup on - just in case you have to go out in an emergency or at short notice! This one I learnt when my mother was rushed to hospital, unfortunately she is no longer with us😢 Or you may have unexpected visitors!!
Some good responses to rude comments: (1) none at all, because if that’s the kind of person they are, why validate anything they say? consider the source! (2) look them in the eye and say nothing, especially with a smile that will completely throw them because it’s clear that their words don’t bother you; (3) say, “I beg your pardon?” again with a smile which will soften the question instead of provoking an argument; (4) if you really feel that a response is necessary, say something such as, “I think it’s respectful to present my best self to others.”
I like to wear shirts, jackets and trousers. I will not stop wearing them. Maybe the black suits will be left nearly forgotten until a funeral is taking place. I only ever wear these on highly official occasions- if I have to give a speech to 300+ or so people. It happens. Nowadays we have more online conferences and meetings and therefore a shirt and a jacket is enough. There is one black jacket I will keep for more everyday use. It is a short nice thingy and looks good with a pair of jeans. A colleague used to mow his lawn in his suits after retirement until they fell in disrepair. I hope to retire in a year 😊 They all want me to join the morning Yoga meetings. The lucky old girls who don’t have to work… Maybe I will invest in sweat pants or hop around in riding breeches and wellies.
I love those trousers on you. I have put a little weight on over the last few years (and am also a classic British pear shape). What style of trouser would you suggest for someone like me? A little heavier on the bottom half whilst slimmer on the top?
I have done several videos for my Pear-licious ladies Deborah - I hope you get a chance to watch them - I also have this www.marieannelecoeur.com/pear-shape-ecourse.html 😘
QUESTION! Since I retired, I noticed my friends around me wear not so stylish clothes, I would call it almost frumpy. I do not want to look too sophisticated in front of them. Could you advise how to tone down, but still look stylish. Thank you for all your wonderful advice! Kathe Ann, Illinois
Bonjour Anna - it sounds very much that you have the same issue as we discussed during the live stream. It is sad to say but women who want to look stylish can sometimes attract negativity from other women. For my own part I say stand out in your style, but you may not have the confidence to do so immediately so go for a slightly elevated look at first and then gradually increase the level and see how you go. Hopefully your increased confidence will be worth it 😘
Marie-Anne, I love your advise, always dress simple and chic at home, but what footwear can I wear in the house to keep my feet warm besides my fur lined slippers or is that okay?❤️
I have no issue for comfy slippers Karen 😃 dare I say even Uggs 😮 - that is what they were designed as and then some bright spark thought they would wear them out and a horrid trend was born 🙁
Sorry I am a day Late, Marie-anne your hair looks Great but you also look Good. I love to wear Jackets and love your STYLE. I am 69 and still feel great yes age just a number😊 Making your hummus today
Bonjour `maureen - I have done several videos on my wardrobe organisation 😃 I hope you get a chance to watch them x watch here for the most recent th-cam.com/video/nDWiziHwFzo/w-d-xo.html
@@MarieAnneLecoeurHi Marie Anne I love the video on organising a closet. I have just discovered your website and have spent the last two days soaking up ideas from your various videos. I want to update my navy & white capsule wardrobe. I already own most of the items you suggest. One thing I do not have is a short navy wool coat. Also white jeans. I shall be shopping for those next. Thank you so much for helping me to focus on the gaps in my wardrobe.
Hello Marie-Anne. I have followed you for quite awhile(years). I've been retired for almost 11 years. I'm healthy and in reasonable shape for my age..just shy of 77. I always purchase good quality, classic clothes with touches of trendy to jazz it up a bit . I'm trying to be sarcastic but I can't follow your rules/suggestions for dau wear while cleaning my home...although I do believe I've got my outfits down pat for trips to the grocery store...I have a feeling I have to up my social life to accommodate your suggestions for day wear....
This is a style channel Maureen not a housework channel 😃 for light duties I wear what I wear but put an apron on for anything using chemicals or mucky I have old clothes for mucking out the horses, walking dogs, chainsawing logs I have my outdoor gear
I work in a very dirty art studio so need three distinct wardrobes really. I have a tendency to wear the same thing every day like a uniform in the house just skirt camisole and crop cardigan. I go over the top when I go out can’t help myself. I need restraint.
Bonjour Cynthia - on my channel page there is the banner and welcome video then under that is a section 'For You' and then under that is a list of any upcoming live videos. Essentially I will be holding them every Thursday except for the first Thursday in a month when I have other committments 😃 if you enjoy them and want more let me know I love doing them but don't want to over do it 😅
What I should have said in the live stream comments area was....I will burn my retired work clothes!!! Diesel fuel burns great for heating the house!!!😂
Bon jour Marianne❣️I like your jacket, blouse, and tie. Your pants seem to loose and masculine for me. I enjoy your videos, so merci beaucoup et que Dieu vous benise❣️🥰💕🙏🏻💕

Just casual them down Barbara 😃
I'm 74 5ft 3inch live in South Australia. Excited about this coming autumn/winter buying new long boots to wear with skirts. Love all your advice and the live streaming. Makes me feel like I have a friend visiting.❤ Janine
I love the coffee morning chat time feel too Janine 😃
When I retired and the season changed, I put my ‘work clothes’ away and have not worn them since. I think I have been retired for 11(?) years. Time to donate/sell those clothes, yes? Now I am enjoying putting together items I have with a few new to complete the coordinated look. I have TIME!!! Enjoying it, too.
Go through them one more time with an eye to wearing them as separates before you donate/sell them Marilena 😃 you never know what gems may be in there 😘
@@MarieAnneLecoeur OK. Shall do.
Had many giggles watching this , loved your advice to Fifi on wearing her blazer in a sea of frump!! So funny.
Perfect Virginia 😘
I gave my St. John suits away when I retired so that other women could wear them while they were still in style. The shop where I bought them had a program to pass them along to women entering the work force.
That is a great idea Penny - which store was that 😃
Thank you so much for so many ideas.
At 72 I’m retired from teaching. Time to relax and have fun with the grandkids and boyfriend
Wonderful Reina - let me know how you get on and how your style journey develops x
Brilliant Sparklie 👏 and yes mix your very best pieces with budget items - a great way to get that quiet luxury look 😘
Thank you.❤️
I developed the idea Maria to help my students and clients - I have a number available on Amazon 😘
Very hard to find church organist! I wish I could be one!
@@dawntreader815 It's a wonderful instrument to play and to listen to, especially the pipe variety, rather than the electronic variety!
@@Nicky-Music Yes! The church where my husband plays piano has a pipe organ, but the organist died a year ago and they cannot find anyone to play it. They were a very large church at one time, now very little attendance. The empty organ bench is sad.
😪@@dawntreader815
After listening to you, I am planning my attire for the office while I tutor. Thank you for your inspiration. I have created a shopping list for items I need such as new shoes.
You are very welcome Verna 😘
Love your hair. I am retired l used some of my jackets with jeans❤
😘
I missed your life stream, but I really enjoyed this video as it resonated so much with me! I retired last year and I made a few changes to my wardrobe. I have always liked dressing well, but got rid of those ridiculously high heels and mostly wear kitten heels. No more stuffy outfits for me, I want colour, comfort and style. I love the juxtaposition of wearing jeans with a classy shirt and blazer. Yes retirement comes with challenges, but I just love the time I have now to take care of myself.
Glad you are enjoying retirement Frances 😃 kitten heels are in style for spring 2024 - see tonight's video 😘
I've been always wearing blazers and tailored trousers, as workwear but also on my days off, I just accessorized them separate and differently and changed the type of shoes to more casual. I guess, although I'm not retired yet, I will wear be wearing the same, after retiring.
As you said in the video, "this is me, this is how I dress" for some people I may be too overdressed, but to be honest, I don't care.😂😂😂
Btw, I keep a tracking of my looks and "capsule wardrobes" with the Openwardrobe App, it is very practical especially for travelling, you have all the looks on one glance at your mobile phone. Best Regard from Spain, besos, Sonia
😘
I dress better now than I ever did. I love my suit jackets which I incorporate with a dress, or with jeans during my every day, casual life now. I have much more time to spend on myself now and I love ironing my clothes, and taking better care of my clothes and myself.
Taking care of your clothes is a very worthwhile investment in your time Louisa 😃👏
I wear my black blazer in a sea of black hoodies and CROCS with socks!!
Stand out in your style Heidi 😃
Unfortunately, I truly believe that these individuals who are wearing the CROCS with socks actually think they are being ironically cool, like, " These are so ugly.... that... I am amazing.." @@MarieAnneLecoeur
I retired from a job where I dressed professionally. I can still wear the separates but not sure what to do with dresses. I refuse to be the retired lady who wears fleece and knit pants.
Dresses work well for Church, date nights, and other special events
That is wonderful Ginriolo 👏 say no to the fleece and knit pants 👍
Have missed this live, perfect for me as I retire in July
The replay is available now Sue - I hope you enjoy it x
Had a giggle at your comment on not wearing the outfit you wear to walk the dogs and also on a lunch date with your husband…… I agree - I walk our 4 dogs most days and would change into something a little nicer for a lunch date- casual but pretty.
It is a mystery to me Clare why I get so many people commenting about the style advice I give that they would not wear what I suggest when they are hiking in the forest, white water rafting or in sub zero temperatures 🤷♀️ as if that is the rational for this channel 🙄
I am 60 and in some years I will be retired. I buy my clothes nowdays with this new life situation on my mind.
Your husband is sweet! 😊 Nice coffee mug!
They are available on the product shelf below my videos Happy 😉 the mugs that is 😅
@@MarieAnneLecoeur😂 So relieved it was Carl on the other end of that hand and not “Thing” from the Adams family ❤
I’m loving those earrings on you😃 Very pretty☺️
Merci Lisa 🤗
Marie Anne I love your outfit, so beautiful and stylish! (Lucja)
Merci Lucja x
Wise words Linda - merci for sharing 🤗
Marie love your advice. Many thanks!
Felicity.
You are very welcome Felicity 😘
😃👍
Merci, Marie-Anne! I am retiring soon and really needed this advice.
I am glad it helped Mary - stay chic 😘
Bon Jour Marie Anne. Late to the party ❤️blazers! Perfect ‘spring’ coats when it is not raining! Thanks for the confidence boost.🙂
😘
I will see what I can do Kimberly. I gave up so much of my business wardrobe when we moved to Mexico 😣 I am building it up again though 😃
Hi , I’m admiring your haircut, the top layers are fresh and beautifully cut giving your hair volume and life, gorgeous
Merci Clare x
Marie-Anne, I am so curious to “meet” your husband! He seems so wonderful and supportive. Could you introduce him to your chic-loving audience sometime? 😊
He appears in some videos on my other now rather defunct channel Laura 😃
Thank you 😊: again: thank you 😊
I have clothes from when I used to tech I never use. Great ideas.
Glad you enjoyed them Alessandra x
I agree with you don’t ever worry about “dressing like everyone else” try to assess the event and form an image of how I’d like it to be then try to dress accordingly
Haha, I’m often wrong, but I enjoy the fun.
I like that approach Deirdre - it is training your style eye 😃👍
I have been retired for over 4 years now. I am a lover of blazer so still have many but I wear them with everything. Can dress the up or down with jeans, etc.
They are so very versatile and chic Sherry 😃
I lost -53# recently, and I took my suits and clothes to the tailor's to have everything altered. Tailor's are the best!
They are worth their wight in gold Louisa 😃
I generally am the one who dresses with care, in a sea of people who don't care about what they wear. I dress for myself and to feel good and I don't worry about what others are wearing or what they think of me. Dress for yourselves, ladies!
Wise words Louisa 👏
SO I do not own a pair of pants. I only wear skirts and dresses. I also do not own a pair of sneakers. I think they are frumpy. I live alone and get dressed and made up every morning and make my bed. And it is for me. I am 80. I also don’t own a blazer as,they don’t suit me. I am told that I have good style and everyone says I always look good. 🥰
I'm the opposite but I think you choose the right items for you
Since the start of the COVID lockdowns I mostly work from home. I also only social8w once or twice on the weekends. So I’m home alone mostly. I don’t have a huge wardrobe but I have more than I need. I can’t bring myself to get rid of all of it. Or even most of it. I’ve donated some of it.
Try to make some time for experimentation Darkling Faerie and see if you can make a pairing you haven't tried before 😃
Hi Marie-Ann: Thanks for the great advice that you give, they come from your heart! I’m hooked on you thru my daughter. She is the one that found you! Yay!
I have learned a lot about style from you! I re-arrange my closed and have all my camisoles. short sleeves, dresses, etc all by color, how easy it is to find what I want! We love and appreciate you! ❤
Merci beaucoup Noemi 🤗 I am so happy my channel resonates with you and your daughter - a big French Chic Hug to you both 🤗

What brand and color is your lipstick? It is very nice.
It is MAC Russian Red 💋
Thank you for your quick reply!
Please, Maria Anne, what do you usually wear when you are running around the house for tiding, cooking, dusting,….?
I'm curious as well.
You can put on an apron on top of your clothes to protect them when tiding your house
Exactly right Tonya 👍
Just a couple of comments for your video: just because you are retired and at home, don't wear the same clothes two days in a row! Also put your makeup on - just in case you have to go out in an emergency or at short notice! This one I learnt when my mother was rushed to hospital, unfortunately she is no longer with us😢 Or you may have unexpected visitors!!
I totally agree Anna 😃👍
Perfect Trude - your colleagure must have looked very dapper mowing the lawn 😃
I love those trousers on you. I have put a little weight on over the last few years (and am also a classic British pear shape). What style of trouser would you suggest for someone like me? A little heavier on the bottom half whilst slimmer on the top?
I have done several videos for my Pear-licious ladies Deborah - I hope you get a chance to watch them - I also have this www.marieannelecoeur.com/pear-shape-ecourse.html 😘
Great video curious about the two handbags behind you?
The lighter one is by Hobbs Elisa the darker by Staud 😃
I donaten all my sweaters, shirts. But kept my trousers
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Thank you Marie-Anne! Yes, I agree uggs outside the house are “Ugg-ly”!😁

Hello,from Bursa,Türkiye.Just retired.
👋
I work in a very dirty art studio so need three distinct wardrobes really. I have a tendency to wear the same thing every day like a uniform in the house just skirt camisole and crop cardigan. I go over the top when I go out can’t help myself. I need restraint.
I can understand that Deirdre 😃 I have my horse mucking out clothes 👍 There is nothing wrong with self expression 😉
Marie-Anne, I agree with you about gray jeans, they do look like washed out black pants. How do I find out when you have these live sessions?

Essentially I will be holding them every Thursday except for the first Thursday in a month when I have other committments 😃 if you enjoy them and want more let me know I love doing them but don't want to over do it 😅
