- Paying tribute to the beautiful piece of machinery Chevrolet produces named, Silverado. Our team has fully recreated the retro Chevrolet Silverado Commercial " Like A Rock" with a twist of street and off road driving. Sadly we haven't seen one of these commercials since 2013 so we have gone ahead and taken the liberty to escape the empty void and shine the light once more on us truck owners but most importantly, our Chevrolet Family.

@@dian5239 yes this shots, editing and composition are fantastic. But it’s also very important to note this videos strongest factor is basically completely banking off the nostalgia. I personally love it, but for other none car enthusiasts or those who can’t relate probably couldn’t not care less for this video and lifestyle, as unfortunate as that is

My dads 2003 Silverado ls lasted 20 years and its still going. Thats how you can tell the work they put in these trucks. Keep going on big red. It has 500,831 thousand miles on it.
Doesn't mean shit my 2500 with a cummins still starts and hauls 20k without crying about being over weight

Huge throwback, man! All those commercials take me back to my early childhood days in the late 90s.
My 2008 Chevy Silverado wt1500 just turned 400,000 miles! Engine has never been touched, changed oil religiously at 3,000 miles, origin transmission, alternator, even the A/C has never been touched! I love my Chevy!
You cant be serious, Ive got a 94 WT with 211k on original drivetrain 5.0 auto trans, still going strong.
That’s good I’ve got a 2005 Chevy 1500 5.3 that has over 500,000 on it, the transmission and transfer case has been rebuilt once, but the engine has never been touched, i have to add a quart of oil every 2 weeks to it, the ac doesn’t work but the heat does and it is a good truck. I just had to change the spark plugs in it for the first time in 20 years two weeks ago.

I have a 2004 Silverado 2500HD with a 6.0 gas engine and 4L80E transmission. It has 230,000 miles. The engine and transmission are original and untouched. I've only replaced normal wear and tear items. It runs great, looks great. Best vehicle I've ever owned

My 2013 silverado just rolled over 275k and you'd never know it mechanically. It just keeps rolling, and I'll keep it going until there's nothing left of it

Like a Rock. Takes me back to learning how to drive in Silverado in the 90’s. Those commercials on Sunday afternoon during football games, heck back when I was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan.
I own two Silverado’s now. 2014 LT Texas Edition and 2024 LTZ Z71.
I’ve owned a Ford as well. 98 Excursion. I’ll say this. I’d rather push a Chevy than drive a ford. My Chevys have always gotten me home.

I love those too, but the best imo were the 90s C/K 1500s, preferably a ‘’97 or ‘98 Silverado Z-71 given those had the full dash. That 90s body style is still the best I’ve ever seen and probably will ever.

I honestly miss Chevy. The real Chevy, they were neck and neck with Ford for a long time and the suit wearing business guys driving the "#1 truck" in America always got offended when a loud Chevy truck with some hippie with long hair let his pipes loose and threw a middle finger at him, not anymore, they both suck terribly now.

I use to have a 95 gmc sierra 1500 single cab short bed 4x4 350 5.7l and the only reason she ain’t here is bc I had the speedo maxed out, prolly going 130mph, the driveshaft flew out smacked a hole in the tranny, leaked all the fluid out before I could come to a stop and melted the internals while it did a 100 cartwheels down the road

@@SD-pi9co I am pretty positive someone messes with it. Doesn’t mean anything tho in reality, just makes me feel better. When to my buddies house that morning, left it sitting at his crab shack all day until dark around 930, start the truck, put it in reverse and the driveshaft just falls off the differential. I was too tired to mess with it or check it out, went to my buddies house to spend the night and mess with it in the morning, noticed one of the bolts that mount it to the differential was shiny while the rest were covered in the normal mud, pretty positive someone must’ve slipped a washer or something on there to make it wobble. But I slapped it back in there and everything snuggled up, I got to the straight away and once I hit 70 the truck was shaking, I was honestly just tired and fed up and floored it, I was prolly going 130 and the driveshaft just had too much vibration. Later on after I got my self together and got the truck home, I checked out the joints and they were perfectly fine no clinking no knocking no jams, all smooth rotations. I still look back and believe some little dude, that was too scared to go toe to toe with me, messed with the truck. But nah man I’m very good with my maintenance on drivetrain components. Yea I’m a little careless with suspension parts but man I’m really particular on how the drivetrain is functioning. I honestly did take care of the truck really well, I just had a heavy foot which wasn’t the cause of this. May of not helped, but without outside influence she would still be here, that’s why I believe someone tampered with it. Oh well can’t get those days back just learn from it

@@Cheese-hi5ix I like good trucks, in fact my work truck is a K1500. Ironically burnt out a 4L60e a few weeks back 2nd one in the last 120k. Unfortunately GM has not been making good trucks for quite a while. I have the cash and i would love to go out and buy a brand new 2500 with a 5.3 or 7.4 without all the GDI/AFM bs on it and is a truck that is tough as nails but GM does not make a work truck anymore that holds up to real work and abuse. Ford isn't much better the 5.0 is really the only engine worth having in their lineup.

I’m a Silverado fan, but I have to say this generation of truck with that front grill and headlights is my least favorite. All I see is 2 trapezoids in the front. I remember when it came out thinking why did they go to the trouble of matching the Avalanche when the Avalanche should have matched the Suburbans and trucks.

Yep. Mine on my ‘01 GMC 2500 HD broke off too. It was inevitable with this generation. The previous generation had a similar problem, where the mechanism that would allow the handle to open the tailgate had a tendency to break. The 90s C/K 1500 is still the best looking and best generation of a truck that’ll ever be made.

They are advertising a good year of Silverado. All the Vortec and Duramax engines were pretty solid in those years. I have a 2000 that doesn't have to updated slant headlight with a 5.3 vortec. MINIMAL problems and it's about to hit 200k. No powertrain or drivetrain issues.
