In twelve years I’ve lost three brothers. Two to lung cancer and one to Covid. I’m now alone the last man standing I guess you could say. Life is lonely without them but my God and savior helps me get through it. With hope and faith I will be with them again.
God bless you, sorry for your loss of loved ones I'm there as well wish peace for you . Just know we will see our loved ones on the other side .when we pass
I'm 69, cancer survivor this past year, still doing construction work to make ends meet and help the kids. I sat by my 90 year old Dad's bedside in my house when he died after we had cared for him for five years. I didn't realize what a rock he had been and how much his life had influenced me even though he was old school Navy and I was a '60's hippie and we never saw eye to eye even to the end. We were two rocks, side by side. Thanks, Dad.
71, cancer survivor, lost a kidney to cancer again, heart surgery, and now stage 5 kidney disease. Raised 2 beautiful strong independent young women, helped with 5 grandkids, and now have 5 great grandchildren. They are all my Rocks.....as I hope they think I am theirs!
@@stevepouillon3562 Steve ...never give up...thats not our job. My dad ....a WWW2 vet from artillery and a paraplegic in 76 taught me that lesson. Like Bob Segar said..Like a Rock...never give up till your ready. I'm in my 70's with heart failure and I refuse to give up till the end. Not my job!!. Do your thing Steve!
I buried my dad today. An 83 year old Command Sergeant Major who did 2 tours in Vietnam. He died a frail, shell of the almost Superhuman I remember as a kid. This song seems to personify him in my mind. I listen to it and think of him. So long dad, I will see you on the other side.
My father, the old Army Master Sergeant, passed away in March 2020 at the age of 89. We saw eye-to-eye on virtually nothing. But he was rock and taught me and my brothers how to be men…how to be accountable, responsible and take of our families. Lessons for life. When I listen to this song, I hear a tribute to the old Master Sergeant.
I know exactly what you're talking about, my father, a retired Sergeant Major of 24 years is 80 years old & still to this day a hard core, mean as a snake, don't take no shit of a man, I learned so much from him, he has dementia now, God I love him, he's a good man, just like yours👍✌️
I can't put it better. He blows Springsteen away. Maybe it's because of my Midwestern upbringing. I grew up in Ohio and listened to the Michael Stanley Band, Seger and so many others. Seger is a master songwriter. He tells a story like few others in any kind of music.
I lost my dad yesterday morning. I held his hand as he took his last breath. When I drove home, this was the first song I listened to as a memorial to him. He stood arrow straight while others around him wavered. Stand proud, stand tall, dad. WDK 1944-2020
Lost my dad to ms Christmas Day 2015, which was a catch 22 (those who watched a loved one with something like ms or cancer knows) remember him every time I hear any song off the night moves album.
This song reminds me of my husband. We met at 15. He joined the army just before his 17th birthday. We married a week later. “We” served 34 years in the military and HE is still something to see! After 53 years of marriage he still makes my heart beat fast and we are so happy.
My mother called me yesterday in tears after listening to this song. Nearly 20 years ago I stood tall and proud with my right hand up swearing an oath to our nation. Some where after that time she watched me fall to my knees weak and crippled by pain from war and lost in the darkness of mental health. Today I have a beautiful son of my own and stood up strong like a rock. The impact songs can have are amazing
Weirdest thing about this song. As a young man in my 20s I remember hearing this and it spoke wisdom to my soul. Now, I'm 58 with grown kids and a grandchild and those words "20 years now, where'd they go, 20 years, I don't know" have almost been doubled and this song speaks to me as an old man.
Thanx......What's that make me? An "older old man"? I'm 5 years older than you are buddy. Pull your foot out of that grave for a second and listen up......60 is the new 40. Deal with it or die, it's up to you. It's better to live a lie than to die for truth. I don't have any kids but I've got all my hair and for all practical purposes I'm a 43 year old man who retired early and receives SSI every month like clock work. I'm currently hooking up with a 34 year old chic and since nearly all of my friends have died already, there is very little chance I will be exposed as the fraud that I am. Pretty sweet deal wouldn't you say?
Stay strong brother. My burden is paralysis on my left side, shuffling around with a cane like " a pair of ragged claws scuttling across the floors of silent seas." We keep our sanity by remembering better times, when we were princes of the earth, fearless and resolute. Though extremely bittersweet, these recollections remind me of who I was...and at heart, who I still am.
Steven James sorry you are in so much pain, am sending light and love your way. Keep listening this is some of the best rock and roll around. It also helps the pain I have in body and mind. Listen every morning it starts me and my day off better. Hang in there and keep battling, you must be a very strong person
I get a lump in my throat and my eyes well up with tears whenever I hear or listen to this great song. I was once a young man, I joined the army, seen combat, got married, had kids, lost good friends, lost family members, etc. Now I'm a broken and old man, twisting the throttle of life and smiling at the memories this song brings. ***EDIT*** October 9th, 2021**** Wow! I love you all! The care and compassion complete strangers has been absolutely mind-blowing! I guess my original comment above may have come across as if I was at he end of my rope, road and life, and only now I see how easily that post I made raised concern amongst some of you. Sorry if it came across as depressing, but I never intended it to be that way. I guess I got caught up in the moment of strolling through memories. You guys/gals/people rock! \m/ This is the caliber of people Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band creates!
Sounds like you had (and still have!) one hell of a life! Be proud of your history and life experience, they made you the man you are today. For what it’s worth, I am humbled and moved by your words... I wish you all the best and hope you will have many more memories to remember in the future. Cheers from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 🍻
I'm a US NAVY Female veteran with PTSD. I'm struggling to survive but I'll never surrender to despair. I was a teenager when he released this song. It's an inspiring song the US needs now more than ever!
@@jackdeth2558 Thank you sir. I appreciate your father's service. He walked the walk so I could sleep safely in my bed every night. Much 💕 to you and your family
Thank you for your service... I get it ..there will be no white flag above your door, when we suffer from PTSD, we ? Where is our ROCK? PTSD pushes us to places we don't want to recall, it's not the memories that we wanted to create , but are a result from what's been given to us, we can't bury it, we swish it away, we wish it would wash away, so many will try to drink it or drug it away, sadly it just doesn't leave us, at times it gets the best of us & pushes us into a different culture of GREY, but hopefully you won't let it get you too far discouraged, just doing things differently will get you moving along a awesome path, starting with a new thing you find each day.. have hope, let the joys flood you w new , happier, better experiences, to keep the burdens of PTSD away... For TODAY, this moment "Like a ROCK" for you I PRAY.........
Everyone's fantasy about their youth. But one of the great lines in a song; '20 years now, where'd they go, 20 years now I don't know'; that is everyone's truth.
I love this song. I'm battling alcoholism and kidney disease now at 51. As long as I have air in my lungs, I will keep pushing forward. Thanks for this song Bob. Amen
My father struggled with alcoholism since he was 17. He died over 30 years sober in July of 2022. I have no doubt you can get sober if it's really what you want! You can do this.
Wow I totally understand I'm 30 years old been listening to this song as long as I can remember going to continue to listen to it till the day I pass you're exactly right God bless Bob Seger and yourself shit God bless to all!!
I just turned 66 three weeks ago. My hair is grey and thinning and yeah I'm a bit tired and worn. But damnit there was a time when I was like a rock. And I thank God for giving me the opportunity to have at least once be like that.
At 58 years old now I know that I'm a shadow of the man I was in my 20s, 30s and 40s and looking back at the things I used to do listening to the song brings a tear to my eye. To the young man out there savor every moment of your strength and your youth because it all fades away too soon.
Dude, that statement makes you the rock that you are. It's called being a man. In this day youngers need some leadership into manhood. Keep that going.
Brings me back to my youth 41 years ago, when I was in Boot Camp and then out in the Fleet in the United States Navy, 🇺🇸 when I was young, and strong, and didn’t have the cares that I have now. Some good memories flashback when I hear this song!
A few years ago I attended the funeral of a veteran police officer slain in the line of duty. A young lady from his family sang this haunting song and, at the end, added an extra verse in honor of the departed. There wasn't a dry eye to be seen. This was the additional stanza. "Each time I pinned my badge on, This mantra I would say: 'If life offers you battle, don't ever run away. When the Devil stalks the righteous, You stand fast in his way, Like a rock.' Like a rock." May the Lord watch over and protect the men and women of that Thin Blue Line who daily risk all to watch over us.
i'm a 12 year old girl and i absolutely love Bob Seger and listen to his songs almost everyday my dad always says i have an old soul and i guess i do Edit: I would like to say thank you for all the sweet comments! I’ve never felt this special ☺️
You got a good head start, Ashia. I didn't pick up on his music until 14 when Night Moves hit the charts back in 1976. He's made a ton of great music since. If you haven't listened to his older albums, it's well worth the time.
Hello. I'm thinking in a larger sense, we don't other musicians to emulate those that have gone before them. We already have the best and the classic versions of artists. Bob is at the top of the list. IMO peace out in 2024
When your life is great and you have happiness you listen to the music. But when you are in a dark place you listen to the words. That is what music is for.
I love everything he sings. I'm a cancer survivor but when I was going through chemotherapy treatments I was listening to Bob. Thnx for getting me through the hardest time in my life.
@@guitarsoundsaround Still kicking the can down the road at "84", Listen to Bobs' music most every evening before lights out. His music can make one feel young again.
Good question; horrid childhood, missed opportunities, jail time, still scrabbling dreaming about better times. Wish I stood like a rock. I was a sandstone washed out to sea. I dream of standing like a rock, one day
I'm 48 years old and I've dealt with so many trials, tribulations, loss, pain, loneliness, depression and failed in life so many times. Yet, I've picked myself up each time. When I hear this song I think of my mom and my dad. They both lost their battle with cancer. They were brave and solid as a rock. They both faced death and accepted their fate. I recognized how strong they were and that in itself makes my problems look so small.
My dad died in November of 2023. He used to tell me when I was little to listen to this song when he was gone. I come back to this every now and then when I need my dad. Fuck cancer
Dad was 42 when I was born. He was 49 when my sister came along. He took up jogging so he could stay in good shape. He was tough, almost super human. He was tough on me growing up, and I resented that. I ashamed of the way I used to feel. I know he meant well now. I was 39 when he passed away, that was 21 years ago. He was strong and tough like a rock. He was almost 81 I miss him a lot. I could go on but I won't. You'll realize what you had when you don't.
My dad and I were best friends. I miss him daily as we spoke every day on my way home from work. Think of him every time I get to that turn where I would call him. Happy Father's Day Pop.
God bless you sweetie. Your Papa sounds like he was amazing. Great taste in music. Wonderful grandson. Served his country well. They don't make music like they used to. They don't make many Papas like they used to. Cherish the memories 💓
Well it’s January 1st, 2022, still listening to Bob Seger. I’m 69 and he never gets old to me either. He just like fine wine. He’s aged well. Love me some Seger!!!!!
I know exactly what You mean Diana.I'm 62 now will be 63 in June.Loved listening to His Songs since the first one I can remember,I think it was Against The Wind or Old Time Rock and Roll, two of My Favorites. You could play theses Songs at my Funeral, celebration of life and it would put a smile on my face.Like I've told my Family and Friends if You don't Like Bob Seger Songs you couldn't be a Friend of mine.
I feel the same way.im 68 but in my mind I'm still 22 and still love Bob's music. They just put my son in prison last week so it's been a rough week but listening to great music and seeing the heartfelt reactions of all you people make life much more bearable. MUSIC
Summer of ‘86; I was 15 years old; first girlfriend; first part-time job; first beer; one of the greatest summers of my life. Felt like I could conquer the world after listening to this one (still do); definitely one for the ages.
Almost 73 now . . Marine Vietnam vet and this song holds so true, . . where did 50+ years go . . I don't know . . gone like a blur. Still have to stand straight and tall and hold my values like a rock. I hope I'll be seen as that rock to my children and grandchildren, and I hope they'll be that rock for generations to come.
This song still gives me the chills after 36 years. I was in my 20s when it came out and i wondered how it would be to be 'old'. Now that i'm 58 i appreciate it more than ever...
My son is still in his mid twenty's. Shared this with him years ago and he was just overwhelmed. Loved it! I wish I could be young with him. He's my best friend and my hero. He's done more and seen more in his short life than I have at 60. Be strong son. Dad loves you.
Me and my friends, lived most of our teenage years during the 80's, here, in the mountains of southern West Virginia, and we were like rocks, hair down to our shoulder's, steel in our eyes. Took no crap from anyone, your buddies always had your back, did'nt have to ask. Now, in 2020, I'm 55, half bald, don't see so well and short a few good buddies, who have went on to the other side. I tear up listening to this song, it takes me back for a little while, to a time when we thought we wre going to live forever, and acted like it. Sweet times and fond memories. Be excellent to each other people, we are all we got. Later.
They played this song at my great uncles funeral, couldn't have have picked a better song to describe a man. Bob Seger is a legend and will never be forgotten!
Im 63 and have worked since I was 13 in the corn fields of Iowa to humping 500 LB bombs on the USS Enterprise.. Ive spent the last 17+ years working in radio. GOD bless my wife of 42 years Theresa our darling daughter Angie, named after the Stones tune her husband Kraig and my two incredible granddaughters Ellie and Kayni.. GOD BLESS AMERICA
I was fortunate enough to see him twice (I know, some of you have probably seen him much more than that). The first time I saw him, my wife was pregnant with our son, and it was the first time I ever felt him move inside her. To this day, he loves Bob. Coincidence?
I hear Ya Patty!!! I'm 64, been a Bob Seger Fan for at least 50 years or the first time that I heard Against The Wind or Like A Rock. These Are my two Favorite Bob Seger Songs and always will be Amen.If I live to be 80-90 years old I will Always be a Bob Seger Fan.It just don't get any Better than this.
This is a great song , I remember thinking I was going to be 30 years old forever, well That was 30 years ago, It seems like it takes forever to grow up but no time to grow old
I remember this song in the hospital when cancer came back the third time. Chemotherapy didn't work, R.I.C.E treatment didn't work , Stem cell transplant didn't work, or radiation didn't work. That's when I realized sometimes you have to be a rock and just take it. Yes I lost my 30s to the disease but its the little children that my prayers go out to. Make no mistake those are the strongest people you will ever meet physically and mentally.
I know what you are saying, and wish you the best of all. I have beating cancer for 10 years, and won't give up. I drove a race boat all over the east US, and met very good people doing that. It is a family. I have 2 harleys in the garage and just don't feel like working on them. I built them. Just don't have the spirit to get them out. I want you to know, keep track of your mind and the ones you truly love! I love my family has some things going on, but trust your faith. I don't know if God has anything to deal with it, but trust in yourself and do what is in your mind to do the choices for you. I have a million songs to give you, but you have to pick your own that's make you feel like you!
Love this song more now than when younger. Know what you mean sort of. I haven't had cancer but went through 6 years of hell with my child as she battled cancer with DAILY chemo. Prayer does work wonders, she is alive and healthy today and a mother. Hang in there. Hope and pray for the best for all of you, sent with love.
I'll be 55 my next birthday, August that is. My dad passed away November 27,2020 which is also my mom's birthday. Married in 1966. He got sent off to Chilcathie Ohio, served a sentence of 5 years. Running shine in the hills of Kentucky. However my sister and I were born in Chicago. He wasn't allowed back in the state of Kentucky or Ohio for 5 years. He somehow got us out of Chicago after the 5 years was over moved us Closer to home. He got a job at Queen City Lumber Company in Cincinnati moved on a block and we were on Chambers St . Him and my mom had not only had a home but it was the nicest one on the entire block. Now my brother was born a buckeye but like all of us, we loved it down home as we called it as kids. After 5 years my dad had become the staple of pride for the company. He designed the knives to cut out some of the most beautiful crown molding , and even after all those years I have yet to see picture frames even close to the one's that have been hanging in there home. He had a brand new 1978 Ford F150 and a brand new 1977, Chevy Caprice Classic . We ate stake about every other night. But it was time to get his family back down home. Left Cincy built his own home.paid for it (him and mom) for nearly 30 years and never missed a payment or even late with one 1⃣ payment. I got to hold him in my arms his last week of life and I got to look that man in the eyes and tell him he was my hero and my best friend and I could never ever ask for a better dad. He was the best and I also told him he was the smartest man I had ever knew . And he was. He passed but he has not left his roots. It is amazing I feel his presence everywhere. I'm trying to build my own life in the shadows of a man who is hands down the rock in my life. I love you dad
I saw Bob in 1986 at the Spectrum in Philly with my oldest daughter Katie for her 7th birthday. We lost her on Mother's Day 1999 when I eulogized her life it was about she was my rock. That 7th birthday seeing Bob together was the most special night of my life. Thank you Bob.
So sorry, 2017 concert was the best night ever for me too. RIP to my mom who was a huge Seger fan. We’ll always have the songs and the memories of the smiles buddy. God bless. ❤️
I grew up in the ‘90’s, so for me this was always the song for Chevy commercials. My Dad drove a Chevy Silverado. I lost him in 2013. Mom followed him earlier this year. When I hear this song, it makes me think of the man my dad was. A man I took for granted as a child. If you are blessed enough to still have your parents in your life, cherish them. They are only here for a little while.
74, will start radiotherapy for my fourth case of cancer soon, lost a kidney, part of my tongue, part of my lower jaw, and I've had a stroke. Today was the first time I heard this song. Tears...
You know it. Try listing to Journey, Tom Petty, Eagles, Kansas Carry on my way word son, Boston so many more so little time. Make the time there's nothing like a good song taking you back to that special place and time. The smile that comes to your face is nothing like the warmth that comes through your heart. If we could live like it was in the good ole days 60's and the 70's coming full circle.
No, those songs are great, but not the same! I sit her on my porch, listening to this, and I realize how much I put in, and how long will I wait for the payoff!
Is it just me? You hear a song you love...you haven't heard it in decades...yet, you find yourself singing along, remembering every word and inflection.

Chevrolets theme for their legendary trucks from the 1990's to the early 2000's, in my opinion a good song for the longest lasting trucks on the road, and did wonders for the brand
I know what you're feeling,My Wife +I always joke about where the years went when we hear this Great Song.We always say our jobs,Her's of 20 years as A First Responder at our local Hospital and myself 40 years with my job.
For those of us of a certain age, this is the song we wish we would have / could have written. Thank you, Bob, for everything, and most especially making all of us remember what it felt like to feel like a rock.
My Dad is 66 today, unfortunately it's a heavenly birthday, I lost my Rock 7 years ago in September. I still struggle everyday. Happy Birthday Dad, I miss you xxx
I made be 66, I may not be as strong as I once was. I worked with by son who is a strapping 6’2” and 180lbs. All he said at the end of the day shoveling rock on a landscape job was” you really must have been something when you were my age”, I just smiled that was worth the aches and pain. Blessed is the man who has a son who understands what you have done in your life!👍❤️🙏
There was a time when these words and feelings is what it felt like to be an American. Proud, hard working and steadfast and united as a country. Not perfect, far from it. But working together to be better and stronger. Evil people divide us with false news for their agenda. Be Americans people! Not puppets. See through them and build with each other on a local level. One on one. Not the false headline stories Stand arrow straight, stand tall. Be an American be it black, yellow , brown or white.

ten years ago I looked at some of the actors and rock groups I looked up to and as much as they tried to look young they were old just like me, we can all just hope to have loving people to support us ( morally and spiritually ) as we eventually pass on
Bob Seger is a legend and his music still stands today head and shoulders above what's out there today and that slide steel guy is soooo awesome even in 20 21 what a fabulous song
There is no songs today that match up with the classics if the eighties and half of nineties. After that decade it was all down hill with music except for the country western classics. No one can even come close to them also. Songs today so not tell a story, they only keep repeating the same words over and over as if the song writer got stuck writing new words . And today , from the end if the nineties ii seem like the same tunes and some one is trying to put words to the same Melody. Can any of them come up with new melodies and maybe put a story to the tune. What happened to the excellent song writers if yesterday??????
Great Songs Never get Old, just the Singers.Bob Seger Songs will Always be The Best Rock Songs for Me and My Wife.Probably Millions more Old School Rockers.
I'me 84 now, still hanging in. Three careers behind me, soldier, teacher, novelist (25 books). And yeah, I'm pretty decrepit now, but there was a time when I too stood like a rock.
My favorite Bob Seger song. When this song first came out my mom played it over and over and over again. She use to say “you have to feel the words…..” I was, of course the young kid on the other side of the tracks and didn’t understand what she meant. 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤣🤣 you know, just Momma talking nonsense. She was a single mother who raised three kids on her own. We were grown and she was just done, she was sick. She had not been diagnosed yet but she had Pulmonary Fibrosis. I started supporting us when I was just nineteen years old. She died when I was just 31. It’s been twenty years this year. I was at work on the anniversary of her death and this song came on my phone and I broke down and cried when the first line came on “Twenty years where’d they go?…….” And I ugly cried. For a while. It was the first time I had cried like that over my mom in a while. One of those deep, sobbing, can’t catch your breath kind of cries. I guess I needed to cry like that. I was under a lot of stress and my heart was broken at the time. I had just lost my baby brother just over a year earlier to Covid, and my older brother had just been diagnosed with colon cancer, and my dad is in bad shape. My life is a country song. 😂😂 I guess me ugly crying is exactly what I needed at the time. My love of music, and Bob Seger, comes from my Momma. I miss her terrible, some days more than others. Today is one of those days when I miss her more than yesterday. So, I listen to her song. ❤❤❤
That was beautiful, you don't fully realize the Depth of the Lyrics till you are moving towards the opposite side of the tracks. Your Mom lives eternally inside your heart & soul..💕

....You are bless to know your father....
My Dad was a drill instructor in the Army..learned early not to ask why...love this song
I know exactly what you're talking about, my father, a retired Sergeant Major of 24 years is 80 years old & still to this day a hard core, mean as a snake, don't take no shit of a man, I learned so much from him, he has dementia now, God I love him, he's a good man, just like yours👍✌️
I think Bob Seger might be the most underappreciated singer/songwriter of all time.
He's a legend,amazing.
He sure is one great singer
The brilliant Bob seger
Meeeeee tooooooo
Another legend love love love his tunes
I can't put it better. He blows Springsteen away.
Maybe it's because of my Midwestern upbringing. I grew up in Ohio and listened to the Michael Stanley Band, Seger and so many others.
Seger is a master songwriter. He tells a story like few others in any kind of music.
My lovely Dad will be cremated tomorrow. When I hear Bob sing I see Dad as he was in his prime. He was my rock and I'll love him forever 💔
Such a lovely tribute peace to you
God bless you and your family
A true anthem for those of us who survived what life threw at us...

Life goes so fast!!
we got this
Amen, thanks for creating and sharing this moment with the world Bob. Saw you live once, you're still amazing. Amazing voice and performance!
No one survives life. We all end up dead some day.
I lost my dad yesterday morning. I held his hand as he took his last breath. When I drove home, this was the first song I listened to as a memorial to him. He stood arrow straight while others around him wavered. Stand proud, stand tall, dad. WDK 1944-2020
❤🙏🤘
What an Honorable way to remember Your Dad.May God bless You.
I feel your pain I lost my dad too, my best friend, my mentor. 🙏
Sending you love and feeling so many memories of all of our lives.
♥️
Lost my dad to ms Christmas Day 2015, which was a catch 22 (those who watched a loved one with something like ms or cancer knows) remember him every time I hear any song off the night moves album.
This song reminds me of my husband. We met at 15. He joined the army just before his 17th birthday. We married a week later. “We” served 34 years in the military and HE is still something to see! After 53 years of marriage he still makes my heart beat fast and we are so happy.
Congratulations! Working on 40 with my catch 😎
Thank You Both for your long Service to Our Country and Congratulations on Your Long Happy Life Together.

Yes indeed it was!!!❤
Love, love love this song. Everything about it. Lyrics, music and guitar solo. Comes together like pure ❤majic
Totally agree. Badassery
I would say THEE best slide solo hands down
My mother called me yesterday in tears after listening to this song. The impact songs can have are amazing
you hang in ther my brother ! thank you for your service!
Welcome home and Thank You for all of your sacrifices for us. God Bless You and Your family.
Thanks so much for your service 🙏 ❤️
Love this tune so so much... Also "In your time" x
god bless buddy
Weirdest thing about this song. As a young man in my 20s I remember hearing this and it spoke wisdom to my soul. Now, I'm 58 with grown kids and a grandchild and those words "20 years now, where'd they go, 20 years, I don't know" have almost been doubled and this song speaks to me as an old man.
Well put rexbpiano !
Same here..i play that verse over and over
I always considered it one of the "late" Bob Seger songs lol jesus that song came out 34 years ago.
Same age same thing but I'm no fuckin od man my heart stays 20
Seven years battling cancer, recovering from surgery.....I needed to hear this again tonight fighting off the pain! Rejoice oh young man in thy youth.
Keep fighting!
Don't give up buddy. 🙂👍
Stay strong brother. My burden is paralysis on my left side, shuffling around with a cane like " a pair of ragged claws
scuttling across the floors of silent seas." We keep our sanity by remembering better times, when we were princes of the earth, fearless and resolute. Though extremely bittersweet, these recollections remind me of who I was...and at heart, who I still am.
You are now in my prayers from Patrick
Steven James sorry you are in so much pain, am sending light and love your way. Keep listening this is some of the best rock and roll around. It also helps the pain I have in body and mind. Listen every morning it starts me and my day off better. Hang in there and keep battling, you must be a very strong person
I'm 60 years old but feel like I'm 20, pain free, great shape, all original parts and everything works. Like a Rock
***EDIT*** October 9th, 2021****
Wow!

60 plus years for me. :)

The older you get the more this song makes sense. If you are young, enjoy that ride while it lasts!!
It is similar to a Neil Diamond song "nothing but a heartache." Slightly different word meanings and a great bass laid down by the drummer.
Wow I totally understand I'm 30 years old been listening to this song as long as I can remember going to continue to listen to it till the day I pass you're exactly right God bless Bob Seger and yourself shit God bless to all!!

At 58 years old now I know that I'm a shadow of the man I was in my 20s, 30s and 40s and looking back at the things I used to do listening to the song brings a tear to my eye. To the young man out there savor every moment of your strength and your youth because it all fades away too soon.
Agree the lyrics hit more as we grow older

Brings me back to my youth 41 years ago, when I was in Boot Camp and then out in the Fleet in the United States Navy, 🇺🇸 when I was young, and strong, and didn’t have the cares that I have now.
Some good memories flashback when I hear this song!
They just don't make music like this anymore.
i has been a while since anyone made this music...studios want little girls music to sell to the 14 year olds....wtvr
I agree
They do make music like this still but it’s not mainstream, you gotta look to the blues artists now for real music
You had to have talent back then.
False, it's all shit now.
A few years ago I attended the funeral of a veteran police officer slain in the line of duty. A young lady from his family sang this haunting song and, at the end, added an extra verse in honor of the departed. There wasn't a dry eye to be seen. This was the additional stanza.
"Each time I pinned my badge on,
This mantra I would say:
'If life offers you battle, don't ever run away.
When the Devil stalks the righteous,
You stand fast in his way,
Like a rock.' Like a rock."
May the Lord watch over and protect the men and women of that Thin Blue Line who daily risk all to watch over us.
amen
A beautiful tribute - thank you ever so much for your servide.

When I hear this song I think of my mom and my dad. They both lost their battle with cancer. They were brave and solid as a rock. They both faced death and accepted their fate. I recognized how strong they were and that in itself makes my problems look so small.

Especially the hard working man in America
Absolutely goddamn right to the men of this generation take back what's rightfully yours and rejoice in your youth as it won't come around again.

WOW!!! YOUR STORY IS ALL ABOUT LIFE, AND OUR TRILES AND TRIBULATIONS...
I have a million songs to give you, but you have to pick your own that's make you feel like you!
and wife are there...son too...life is so hard we are fighting. . . . . .
Christopher Daniels you are not only motivational but a hero. Thinking of you sir
Bob Seger at 20, 40 or 70 years old STILL outperforms most acts today!! LOVE YOU BOB! Thanks for being the soundtrack to my life!
Bob turns 75 this year, and he still has the same passion for his occupation as he did when this video was done.
Thanks
Best ever
Well said!!
His music brings back so many memories. It makes me want to get another Harley and ride. Nevermind where, I'll know when I get there.
I dedicate this song to my big brother. He was the rock in our family and my best friend. I owe my love of classic rock to him. Rest in peace Robbie.
❤
I saw Bob in 1986 at the Spectrum in Philly with my oldest daughter Katie for her 7th birthday. We lost her on Mother's Day 1999 when I eulogized her life it was about she was my rock. That 7th birthday seeing Bob together was the most special night of my life. Thank you Bob.
I’m so sorry 😢, NOBODY should ever have to bury their baby, she sounds like she was awesome
I am very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the pain. There is nothing I can say that would mitigate the heartbreak, I can only wish you peace.
So sorry man.
You poor soul. You’re incredibly strong. I can’t say that I would’ve lived through such a traumatic event.
So sorry, 2017 concert was the best night ever for me too. RIP to my mom who was a huge Seger fan. We’ll always have the songs and the memories of the smiles buddy. God bless. ❤️
My dad was like a rock, he was a survivalist. He amazed me with his will power. My dad was a man I can't forget. I love you Dad ! 😊
Go Trump !
Great man

turning 51 this upcoming Saturday, listening to Bob Seger and waking nostgaligic.
This was my dad's song. He passed to Heaven 22 yrs ago today July 22, 2002. In memory of "Fast Freddie"! I miss and love you Dad!!! ❤
Rip to your father...this song is why i have a Silverado to this very day only truck I'll ever own
This will always be The Chevy Truck song. I’ve had all three, but always come back and buy another Chevy.
Amen dude.
Ameny Amen 💕🤔
Amazing amount of time Amen to that I can do whatever I want everyone to do is believe it Amen 🙏🌄🙏🌄
A song for all of us lucky enough to still be here, this was our lives....
Lucky indeed💗
74, will start radiotherapy for my fourth case of cancer soon, lost a kidney, part of my tongue, part of my lower jaw, and I've had a stroke. Today was the first time I heard this song. Tears...
22 years old and i still always come to the classics. Nothing can top them and im glad i was raised with this kind of music
You sure have awesome parents❤❤.
Me too 👍❤️
@ Brick: I'm 60 and I can remember this like it was yesterday. Me & my girl parking ❤😂✌️💯🔊
Is it just me? You hear a song you love...you haven't heard it in decades...yet, you find yourself singing along, remembering every word and inflection.
Amazing how that works but barely remember what happened yesterday. We were young and strong and running against the wind.
Not just you and I don't know about you, but I usually sing along with a smile on my face and tears in my eyes
@@karenschuster4827 Yep. For me, the tears/smiles ratio changes from song to song.
@@dsmith6034 It all usually starts off with "I haven't heard this in ages!"

Chevrolets theme for their legendary trucks from the 1990's to the early 2000's, in my opinion a good song for the longest lasting trucks on the road, and did wonders for the brand
50 years where they go 50 years I don’t know!
im 50 and still dont know . when i go to sleep , i pray my dreams are 80s .
I sit and wonder sometimes, where they’ve gone.
I will be 58 in a few days

I know what you're feeling,My Wife +I always joke about where the years went when we hear this Great Song.We always say our jobs,Her's of 20 years as A First Responder at our local Hospital and myself 40 years with my job.
Hello how are you doing today
For those of us of a certain age, this is the song we wish we would have / could have written. Thank you, Bob, for everything, and most especially making all of us remember what it felt like to feel like a rock.
Yep. 64.
@Bobsegarmusic. If that's really you, Bob, there's no need to thank me. All the thanks to you!
What A Feeling It Was
@Bobsegarmusic. You, Brother Bob have the greatest voice of all time, thank you for blessing me with it all my life
73. What a ride it has been.
My Dad is 66 today, unfortunately it's a heavenly birthday, I lost my Rock 7 years ago in September. I still struggle everyday. Happy Birthday Dad, I miss you xxx
MAY He R.I.P
Be an American be it black, yellow , brown or white.
that my friend should be front page of every newspaper in this country and breaking news on tv. America can't afford to fall
Truer words never spoken Bob King!
I VOTE FOR YOU ANY TIME AS LONG AS I BREATHE
Well said Bob... Liberals have taken our countries soul away from it. Now it is all about me,me and greed ..
@@7larryvii ...it ain't just the liberals. Career politicians, every moron that thought a service based economy was a great idea, and the those who support an open door immigration policy while living in gated communities have left the middle class holding the bag...again.
We all thought we would live forever and then realized, none of us do!
As my friends slowly die off ,I think 30 years have flown by .As I ride my H D down the road I think about them a tear streaks down my cheek, it's just the wind yeah that's it. GOD BLESS.
ten years ago I looked at some of the actors and rock groups I looked up to and as much as they tried to look young they were old just like me, we can all just hope to have loving people to support us ( morally and spiritually ) as we eventually pass on
2020 who's still listening I'm 64 it never gets old great time
I'm listening to.the greatest right now...no.one like him.

Just buried my sister and my mom in a double funeral.Sad.Im still here like a rock.Love Bob.He says it best

Long, long after Taylor Swift, Beiber, Beyonce and countless others there will still be BOB SEGER standing tall. Like a rock! Rest well Alto Reed.🕇
You got that RIGHT!!!
Bob Seger is a legend and his music still stands today head and shoulders above what's out there today and that slide steel guy is soooo awesome even in 20 21 what a fabulous song
Loved this Song the first time that I heard it and Always Will.Just don't make Songs like this Anymore.Bob's A Living Legend.
Lost my dad in 2010 I'm 37 years old I still miss him miss you dad
I know
Be there
It's 2020, I'm 70 and this music still rocks me!

I'm 81 and remember my younger years. This brings back a lot of memories. I thought I'd never get old but I know I don't have many years left.

12 and 55. Bob was my dad's favorite. This song reminds me of him so much.
His songs are like an anthem of our lives.
@@robc.5745Just thinking the same thing. I could match my life to many of his songs. Really weird but at the same time cool. 😅❤
Same here 66 yrs. Old now..😎🙏
My favorite Bob Seger song.
Sometimes you just have to do that, no shame there. After that good cry you probably took a deep breath and carried on strong. You're only human.
Super gemacht
