i think it was okay. it doesn't let us do the funny 135 134 thing (and various abuse cases), but i think her buffs are good enough. the REAL problem with sparkle is that her E1/E2 doesnt give RES PEN, and there's really no effective way to burn through SP.
Here's a neat idea that I thought of while watching your video. A Quantum healer(I don't wanna bench Fu Xuan but hear me out haha) that grants the team a passive that states: "When an enemy is weakness broken, the adjacent enemies receive a weakness type to that corresponding element". Not sure how best to word it, but essentially the idea hear is that if Silver Wolf applies a quantum weakness to the enemy, breaking it with any quantum character would cause the weakness to spread out to the other enemies as you go. This helps with Silver Wolf's issue of only being single target, and would bring a lot of value to allow mono quantum to brute force everything. Even better if the ability passed on all debuffs to adjacent targets, too! The reason I suggested a healer is so that we could keep Sparkle and SW, and also would have the option to use any Quantum DPS that we want. If they were harmony then Sparkle would be replaced and I feel that defeats the whole point of her passive to support mono quantum. Also the versatility would be great for other teams that aren't quantum and sounds very useful for Pure Fiction.
Don't worry, Masked Sampo, emanator of Elation, is coming somewhere in version 3 where they're going to explore the World's End Tavern, the Masked Fools and Elation (one of the 3 main paths for Amphoreus), and I have this hunch that he's going to be a unit that is Quantum and self-buffs his own DMG% just like Qingque by a ton (to make Sunday's high DMG% buff have diminishing returns compared to Sparkle's higher crit dmg and atk% buffs). I would think that his ult will be something like Acheron, or Firefly/Rappa, so that he is self-sustaining in energy and doesn't rely on Tingyun/Huohuo etc. like Imbibitor Lunae does to keep up his triple charged attacks, while still using a good amount of SP to scale up his damage. And it would make a ton of sense for Sampo to fit in with Sparkle's team. Basically, Qingque doesn't have her 5* powercreep yet. Usually when powercreeping a 4* or a default banner character, they keep certain aspects of their kits, in this case I think it's gonna be the SP usage and the self DMG% buffing, but to a whole new level. Also there's leaks of a double character release that work in the same way with some sort of HP scaling, Quantum destruction and Imaginary destruction. While people seem to think it's two characters, I think it's going to be a single character with a double kit of a different element, aka two characters in one. I don't know why else they'd release two characters that have the same mechanics. Sampo's hair is blue, but the bottom at the back is white, and there's one light cone where he's wearing a mask and his hair is full white instead of blue, so it might make sense for him to have some kind of dual-personality with two kits, one of them being Quantum (blue hair) and the other Imaginary (white hair). Even if it isn't Sampo, Qingque's 5* replacement is gonna come sooner or later, it's just a matter of time.
If Break mechanic want you to match your element with enemies, then let's just add a mechanic where it encourages you to match your element/path (or both) with your allies. Each chars with matching element/path will have a special meter that will fill up when both of these matching chars took action. Once filled up, it will give the char an extra action with a buff that is varied based on the path of the char. Chars specialized in this mechanic are: • Chars with high SPD or lot of action (like Seele) • Chars with dual-element • Chars with shorter special meter • Chars that can share their element to other allies
Seems like an interesting mechanic! Turn based games really have a lot of ways to make combos, and I hope hoyo cooks and makes spicier characters, and turn down the HP bloat...
Im really hoping for a 5 star Destruction Quantum character that's good. Maybe one that uses a lot of skill points just to take full advantage of Sparkle's buffs
yeeerp, rn sparkle's SP only allows for comfortable sustaining, and sp negative supports. if there were more potent sp negative supporst that would be cool too
6:32 I'd say a relic set that gives 4 energy upon applying a debuff IS pretty game breaking. Consider that the closest thing we have to such an effect is the Thief set, which gives 3 energy upon breaking weakness - Less reward for a harder condition. I really like the idea of an Entanglement based character, it's actually something I've thought about since release basically.
i've done the calcs, and Pela already has a 2t ultimate rotation, but this doesn't allow for a 1t ult. Jiaoqiu has a 3t ultimate, and this can only be reduced to a 2t ultimate with tutorial/solitary if you have Pela or have 6 kills. I understand that thief is much harder to proc, but the fact that Nihility can have a "strong" relic option like this, and still don't break the game unless you find a niche use case speaks volumes about their strength. entanglement and imprison are REALLY slept on.
@@kytexd_ Problem is that the set could be used on non-nihilities. I don't know whether it would be impactful, but it could be really good for more ults on other characters, maybe like ratio?
@floralfires, if this set could be used on non support characters, they will be missing out on a ton of DPAV, since their DPS relic counterparts are extremely strong.
9:13 I think you've confused things here. This is the formula for the Base DMG of the Entanglement *applied by Break."* The Entanglement from the character's own kit *DOES NOT* scale with this formula (which isn't even the final formula, just the Base DMG formula), DoTs and CC debuffs applied by character abilities or through certain character equipments have their DMG calculated very similarly to regular damage, with the only difference being that CRIT is not taken into account. There should be a part of the Talent saying: "Entangled enemies receive DMG equal to *XX%* of Kyte's (stat) and have their actions delayed by *30%* (estimated value, since Welt's Imprisonment delay is 40%, and Entanglement's delay is usually 10% less than Imprisonment)". Increasing the character's Break Effect would not change the DMG of the Entanglement applied by the character's Talent unless the stat used to scale it is, precisely, BE. In other words, the section talking about the Trace that converts BE to CRIT and vice versa only serves to nerf the character, since if his Entanglement scaled simply with ATK this Trace would be useless, and scaling with BE only makes it harder to build. The final result looks like a CRT DPS with identity crisis that thinks he's a Break DPS.
Great write-up! However, I cut a LOT of the text from the abilities from the kit on the video, due to it taking so MUCH of the screen, hence I had a Google Doc for the kit for the real nerds to look at. It scales with Break Effect, much like the normal Entanglement does. However, I am considering to changing it to something akin to your wording... Normal Break scales off BE, and has various multipliers based on your enemy's levels and toughness, so I'd have to think about exactly how much DMG the thing should deal... I can tell you know quite a lot about this game so it's still nice to receive comments like these :3
could you expound more on that? i think there's been less and less design space in the current meta, and we are probably heading straight into nicher and nicher units patch by patch.
All the characters we have been getting fit into many play styles even tho they do have specific synergies, which in my opinion isn’t niche. Like Robin does bring more supportive capabilities for FUA, but she’s still good in all other teams. And whilst Lingsha’s buffs are made for Break, she’s still a good healer for all other teams and can even be used very well as a FUA healer. So yeah they do have their specific team synergies and teams they work more optimally in, but I still wouldn’t call them niche cuz they can still be used effectively anywhere. And FUA and Break are also meta teams. A niche unit for me would be someone that only synergizes with a specific element, like Faruzan or Kujou Sara, which can definitely be done in HSR. Or someone like Nilou or Chevreuse, which would be harder to implement since we don’t really have reactions. But I guess it would be like if we got a support that specifically synergizes with let’s say counter attacks or Entanglement. This ended up being longer than I thought, but I hope you get where I’m coming from 😅
I’ve been playing hsr since launch, and I remember waiting for a good quantum character to finish the mono-quantum team since her release. I quietly gave up by Jade. It’s sad since I know I’m not the only one who got excited for quantum characters whenever they came out haha
Rappa with Silverwolf is lit. I don’t really care for Mono teams without the right character compositions. Many mono characters are too SP negative in general and isn’t balanced. Especially when Seele eats as much SP as QQ. Better to just Crit increase using both Bronya and Sparkle rather than using Silverwolf (she’s more a break unit at this point).
Giving Sparkle only 50% action forward value is a jerk move from Hoyo 😢
It’s still the same thing
if you have enough speed its still the same tbh. i had my doubts but after getting decent speed on her, its still the same

Quantum got the pyro effect of being the kid that peaked in highschool
the difference is that quantum never peaked. qingque had her moments, but silver wolf was still matched by tingyun.
