My Xj has 27k on a lock rite locker in my Dana 35 no issues what so ever daily driver all year round , stupid stuff on the trails best thing I've done along with 33" general mt tires
Nice video, thanks for posting. I am considering one for the front end of my sons YJ. Reading mixed reports installing one in the rear, especially for a daily driver. How has this performed on the street? Thanks
I did a powertrax no slip in my ZJ rear dana 35 and love it. it works the same way as other lunchbox style lockers but it's completely silent, no clicking.
@@dad3562 yes, and if you are staying with the dana 35 you can get a Detroit locker and shafts that have 30 splines for extra beef. I think it's called a super 35 kit. lots of people say it's a waste to spend that kind of money on a dana 35 over an 8.8 swap but one advantage the dana 35 has is excellent ground clearance.
Man I was so upset for you when you said the spacer wasn’t installed. You definitely have a lot of patience. Thank you for the video great advice

Great video
Your a braver man the me working over the drain like that, I would have dropped at least half of the fasteners in the drain
I put paper towel down over the drain! Got lucky for the first couple minutes then realized I was tempting fate. Haha

Honestly I did it for a friend. This is not a daily driver vehicle but more of a toy for him. I’m honestly not sure.

A Detroit auto locker would be awesome in a YJ in the rear.

Yes it did
Vsauce for jeeps!
The spider gear damage did not send shrapnel through the differential bearings? R&P no gear damage?
No other damage was found thankfully! Over 10k miles and no issues.
Did you ever post the video of the locker in action?
No unfortunately we haven’t been wheeling together since we got him hooked up. Different schedules right now.
If you had checked the spacing at the pin you would have caught that, been there and done that...
Still holding up? I have an 05 tj with the Dana 35 and 32 inch tires, do you think the Dana 35 would hold up? 🤔
So far he loves it. Running 35s. No issues.
@@turbostoybox2182 Thanks!
I’m in a 05 TJ with Dana M35 chromoly shafts and I got 33s and a LSD and it had held up really good
@@jeremyfufushnick2965 LSD is not the same
@@turbostoybox2182stock shafts?
You think that's brave? I put an LSD on with a 3.07 gear with a 265 track tire putting 600hp on mine. She held up for a year now lol.
Spartan locker much easier it seems.
just why in the hell didn't you wait untill you had a camera stand beforyou did this ?learned nothing
Why bother to show an install with one hand !!?? This is useless
