Visiting Some Magical Places on the South Downs

- I decided to head to the south downs and visit the village of Selborne which was home to the naturalist, Gilbert White. I found some interesting history and pretty nature spots before heading to get a coffee then see some amazing artwork.

Nice to see so many homes with traditional thatched roofs though I imagine having one made or even repaired must be even more expensive than normal materials are... and roofing is always expensive for the homeowner.
Yeah I think so, it’s a very specialist trade being a “thatcher” and they probably make a lot! It’s beautiful but having said that I would never live in one, I knew someone who did and it burnt down 😵💫
@@madmousetales Yup, more of a fire hapzhard so probably more expensive to insure as well. And probably a haven for mice, etc... though I imagine you wouldn't have a problem with cute little mice living nearby [until they started pooping in your kitchen as mice will do].
