Great video. Nice to see some land work being done. I’m quite new to your videos but watch every one now as you show just enough of everything you do without boring me with excessive amounts of the same thing or doing things that appear to be done just for the camera or for your own self promotion. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your kind comment, much appreciated, I will try and keep up the good work.
Interesting update, nice to see it drying up. 👍
Thank you 😊. Yes it is good to seeing it drying up……be a drought next lol.
varderstad still the best drill on the market, they do put the seed in well. Its surprising how well the 3 coulter drill copes with trash or wet muck, secret is to go slower & let stuff flow through. The NZ is a good piece of kit, noticed that the paint work is faded, is it old or just kept outside
The NZ is an old one, we bought it in Feb 2020, second hand, after another wet back end in 2019. Where it moved about 600 acres for drying and drilling S barley into. We always store it under cover over winter.
Another good video chief
Thanks! Hope your making progress planting.
@@JDautopower getting new tractor and planter same year been uphill challenge and receiving planter end of march applied the pressure lol.
Looks a good setup!
Lots of horsepower and diesel being used this spring to get seed beds ready. Secret get top few inches of soil dried out if you can travel then move it a little deeper
Yes it’s been a costly exercise this spring burning diesel!
Good video 👍
Thanks 😊
Great video again.. have you considered or tried another brand or type of crawler..
Thank you. We did try a Fendt 943mt last year, have a look Video Diary on the Farm No. 49 but we decided to stick with the Challenger……..cheap horsepower.
I thought with all the electronics the tractor wouldn't run away these days. Obviously not on steep hills.
What's the anglian water pipe? Is it just mains water? If so it's a bit of a bad job they installed.
Tractor has an exhaust brake, but the slope was to steep for it to cope, without using the service brake. Water is a main’s pipe line, put in 3 years ago. Land never been right since then. They will have to put it right!
@JDautopower
That's crazy the pipe wasn't water tight when put in. I wonder if that's a product of dei.
Do you still farm the field known as Devil's garden at Melton?
Fortunately not! It’s down to grass, very heavy and wet 😂
Is there no engine brake on tractor to aid going down hill rather than use normal brakes? That cat ideal for this years weather ability to get on land quicker than wheel tractors, hope water authority come and fix their mistake, great blog, wheat looks good, except weedy field wheat!
Thank you, yes there is an exhaust brake, and I was using it, but it still wouldn’t hold the tractor back fully.
Good informative vid again 👍
I find Fendt exhaust brake only good on flat with no weight pushing you along. Only a little butterfly valve in exhaust system, think it shuts fuel down as well. Need some revs on to keep sprayer pumping as well . Sod’s Law you had to go up through wet hole. All due to rock strata in the land for miles around where water can come to the surface.
Someone said water out of a spring near me tested the exact same minerals etc as water in Norway 🤷♂️ . Bet that’s a few miles away !
Thai you. Yes the tractor has an exhaust brake, but it was to steep a slope to hold it back without using the service brake
