Great video en great pike attack! Rattles always work well, but if you use them too much (on the same water) , it is more likely to scare off the fish. Greetings Robert
Rattle can be a two edged sword. In waters with high fishing pressure that noise can mean danger for the fish and they won't bite. And bold move to pull out a spinner bait when its snow all around you! That type of lure is more typical for warmer waters. Well, hey, we all got our theories and opinions. For me, I won't under any circumstances but on bright colors, and that's a stance I know I hold on to a bit too far :)
Love your videos Dan! Have you ever used the lure called Chatterbait before? I have Fox Rage Chatterbait and im looking forward to catch a pike with this lure. :D
Just a quick question Dan, I’m going to start lure fishing for pike again, would you recommend that I use hooks with no barb or at least flattened barb?
I have lost so many fish over the last month after crushing my barbs on my favourite lure due to a difficult unhooking but you just need to be confident and have the right tools with you to get the pike back safely. Less chance of loosing a pike with the barbs on. Maybe crush 1 on each treble?
Flattened barbs for me Graham, I unhook pike in the water were possible, barbless hooks make that a lot easier, what's important to me is the pike swims off with minimal damage to fight another day, if I lose a few due to barbless hooks, well, good on the pike that got away!.
@@garycmusicfun4012 thanks for that Gary, I do see and understand your point! I suppose the thrill is in the take and the fight that the fish gives us! The least we can do I suppose is minimal handling and fast unhooking! Thanks and tight lines!
Привет из России, мы в таких канала ловим на воблеры типа миноу 110 или 130, vision, rudra или от jackall squad, у нас не распространена ловля на крупный силикон на малых реках)), но я попробую, спасибо!

Cool vid man very informative.nice fish too 👍🎣🇮🇪
Appreciate the tips! Lovely Pike too!
for coloured water I find that lures that flash, higher in the water column (maybe a foot deep) are the best for getting the pike to attack it
Great vid Dan 👍🏻

I've just started piking so very wet behind the ears with it. Fishing a local canal but keep dragging out weed. Any tips please?
late reply but get yourself some offset hooks and set them up texas rig style. that will help.
