Legoshi, you could not have picked a worse possible moment.
He has a habit of doing that.
Riz is the perfect example of a normal bear, they look all cute and cuddly but really they're a fuzzy assault weapon made to make meat strips of anything in it's way.
Riz’s voice actor did an incredible job. It really brings the character to life. Limroto reminds me of Jim Cummings with his deep voice as well, including John Goodman. But that’s my opinion. All the voices for the fan dub, English dub, and Japanese are incredible. Including Elson, Yamato, and the other voices. Great job, excited to see what scene that will be next. Voice acting is amazing.👍😁

HOLY SHIT as a person who hasn't seen this scene dubbed yet, I legitimately thought this was the official dub!!! The voice acting was so good!!!!!!!! The emotions were on point along with the tension, and the sound editing was impeccable!!! The voices fit the characters as well!!! Amazing!!!

I’m late to the party, but same! I’d seen the channel name, but I thought it was just a contraction of “fandom” and “dubs” - as in, dubbed content from fandoms. Only after seeing the voice credits in the description, I put two and two together.
In my defense, I’ve always watched the episodes in subbed original version. I only know a handful of the English VA’s (Jonah Scott of course, then there were Juno and Louis’s VA’s in a stream, but that was long ago)

Josh stole this scene. Rory and Limroto (and Marsh and Hype as well with their cameos) both did excellent themselves, Rory with his usual lethargic yet goofy act and Limroto with his classically monstrous voice, of course, but I'm way more impressed by Josh's performance.
I love how at 1:25 Pina's voice interrupts and the tense music dies out, brilliant timing on that, Elson! :D Also, "Look what you did" at 2:03, it reminded me of Steve Urkel! XD But dang, Josh's voice is like silk, he's perfect as Pina. I still hope he gets cast in the official dub!

So many cool things to appreciate here, where to begin? First off, I remember reading aloud this scene from the manga with you (Elson), Rory and Limroto and really enjoying the way it was written - the way it plays out. I was thrilled to see it translated well into the anime, but in my opinion, I think your dub of this scene edges out the original Japanese audio track here. Why? There’s much more tension! Perhaps the most pivotal reason for this is the music. In the original the music, at least to me, feels a bit too light for a moment of such magnitude as Riz being outed and then threatening to murder Legosi. It also helps that the music you used builds and builds as the moment intensifies towards a climax that is then immediately ripped away by the appearance of Pina. That instant deflation has a much stronger effect due to the way you were able to build towards it. Great instinct.
I’m also glad you kept the heartbeat sound effect for the shot where reality is dawning on Legosi, as well. And speaking of sound effects, a few that I especially liked how you subtly incorporated were: the ceiling debris, Kibi’s bag as Pina swings it around and also that sliding door! Sliding door might seem an odd thing to point out, but as a sound designer myself I’ve found that sliding door sounds can be especially tricky to produce and implement in an effective way and you did it very well here, so you have my admiration, XD. I also really love the reverb on everything to create the ambience of the hallway. You got it just right, man.
As for voice acting (full discretion, I’m at least a bit biased by this point) but I think the official English dub will struggle to top us here. Rory, as always, has vocally expressed Legosi’s contemplative nature in a subtle but very tangible way. I always feel a connection to him thanks to his genuineness, he keeps things real and grounded even when Legosi is overreacting. Legosi expresses numerous emotions here in a short period (neutral, determined, nervous, surprised, panicked, amazed) and Rory portrayed them all in ways faithful to the character and moment. I’m also thrilled to finally hear Limroto go fully into Riz mode with the anime dub. He has an incredibly unique voice and he knows how to use it most effectively. Riz in the manga, even when at his most threatening, almost always has this eerie calm about him that somehow makes him come across as even more terrifying and Lim has taken that quality and made it his own in a way I didn’t quite feel from his Japanese VA. I was also really impressed by Lim’s effort ad-libs and the heavy breathing as Riz fights to bring himself back under control (another improvement over the original audio where that struggle goes completely silent even though Riz is obviously struggling onscreen). It would be hard to more perfectly cast Riz and I look forward to hearing more of Lim’s interpretation in coming videos.
Also a shoutout to HyperVoiceActing and MarshmeloNCoco for their supporting roles here and using their imaginations to color in details that are happening offscreen. Well done!
And I don’t often mention my own contributions in these projects (I prefer to leave meaningful and objective critique of that to others) but I do want to thank you Elson for making me sound so good here. My Pina dialogue for this scene was recorded during an awkward weekend when my PC decided to abruptly die, I was on a time crunch (I was heading out for a trip) and I was forced to use backup equipment. Despite all of that though, you managed to get some nice takes out of me to present a performance that I’m proud of. I am always impressed by the way you splice takes and ad lib sounds in ways that sound so natural and you did a tremendous job here. Thank you again for your patience during that time of technical difficulty, I greatly appreciate it.
A round of applause to you, my friend, as this is another excellent dub!
While I definitely agree with your assessment of Rory and Lim's performances, I still stand by my original comment, that you stole this scene, Josh. And the fact that you recorded these lines during such an awkward time only impresses me even more. But of course, you did mention that it was thanks to Elson's editing skills that this all came out so well, so again, kudos to him! x3

I've seen so many argue over the characters orientation. Yet this anime deals with elements of vore. Once you know what vore is you see the characters in a different way. So yes while they are technically straight there are elements that have them come off homosexual.
