      @ToolDeals Chris, you need to get that battery replaced ASAP! Broken lithium batteries are a big fire risk. Don't want your house to burn down. You should have been able to exchange it right away where you bought the kit, but you certainly can get it warranteed by FLEX.

    That HPT recip is what made me jump all in to that line. Definitely my favorite tool

    I've been eagerly waiting for this video since I'm the one that left the comments about the Flex. I only said it was best in class based on three separate opinions I had seen on YT. I don't even own the dang thing! Den of Tools said it was the best he'd ever used, ToolboxBuzz put it on top for power, and VCG proved the vibration claims Flex made in a booth demonstration vs Super Sawzall. I thought all that in aggregate made it clear that Flex was truly on top with the recip. All that said... I ordered the HPT yesterday because of you!

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Joe! Ahhh so the catalyst for the video returns! LOL. Man I appreciate you making all this happen honestly. It might be super powerful no doubt, and I also agree, the vibration dampening is great, but as ReynMan stated... it's because it weighs a lot! The Metabo HPT's vibration isn't so bad that it'll make your hand or arm numb but it's significantly lighter and easier to use because of it. I routinely use it with one hand without problem.
      But you'll enjoy it! Just be sure you got the best price. It's $139 at Lowe's and $209 at Toolbarn as a kit with a 4AH battery.

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They are! They're just Hitachi, and they're Japanese tools. If you look at their high torque impact wrenches, you'll see they're VERY similar to Makita. Lots of their tools look like Makita tools and are designed similarly because... both are Japanese companies. The only thing I'd say stay away from with Metabo HPT is their angle grinder... I hate it. It's sooo bad. I mean, it'll work, but it feels awful in your hands. Makita makes the best grinders in my opinion. They're perfect! Then I'd say Bosch coming in at second.

    MHPT is usually always the answer for me. But in this example, that UVP is probably the best Recip on the market. Especially for the price. FLEX has the power in their tools no doubt. But they're just too damn big and heavy for daily use. Same issue I have with Kobalt, they make good tools too, their just so big. Speaking on vibration, FLEX is that good because it weighs 15lbs...weight comes in handy for things like that. Ergonomically nothing stepping up to MHPT to me besides Makita for 2x as much $.

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahhhh you are so right about the weight! Lighter things will definitely have more vibration due to the lack of dampening. My man! And you know what? It's funny you say that about Kobalt because both Kobalt and Flex are made by Chervon, LOL. So the similarities make sense! Also agreed about Makita. I actually really love Makita tools, it's the $$$$ for me though so I seldom can talk about them on this channel, LOL.

    How about doing a comparison between Milwaukee and Metabo 1/2 drive cordless impact. Just asking

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      TTC has done it for the power for both High torque and Mid torque. The Metabo HPT won both times. Smoked the Milwaukee in the mid torque. I have both high torque versions. I like the Milwaukee better because it's slightly smaller. Both are heavy as crap, but I do prefer the feel of the Milwaukee when in use. They're pretty much the same though. If I had to recommend one, i'd still say Metabo HPT just for the warranty alone. If you've never used the Milwaukee you wouldn't know what you were missing, and again, it's marginal but still noticeable.

    I love Metabo HPT. Who else makes a 1/2” cordless plunge router! Their impact driver feels as good in the hand as a Makita does. I’m not sold on Flex. I picked up their hammer drill in Lowes they keep out to demo and couldn’t believe how heavy it was! Yes their tools have power but boy are they a chore to just hold forget about using everyday just picking them up! Crazy.

    • @ToolDeals
      @ToolDeals  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Exactly! Their High Torque impact wrench is also humungous and heavy... can't do it. I've also never seen batteries leak either so that's scary. They'd have to give me their tools for free and I'd still be worried about using them.

  • @ccbowers
    @ccbowers ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That Metabo HPT reciprocating saw is quite impressive. It's still at/near the top performer of battery powered reciprocating saws after being out for a few years now. The only one I know that outperforms it is the gen2 Makita 40V, which is in a different price class. The main complaints I've heard about are the twist blade release requires pulling out the blade to access - sounds like a pain if you change blades often, and that level for shoe adjustment could be easier to pull out. Seems like a no- brainer if you're in the line

    @ProxyFinal ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I use both battery platforms and I agree with you to some degree that Flex does feel hefty, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's super heavy. There's some weight to every single Flex tool and it's really a matter of how you get used to them. The other thing you need to be aware of is that the Flex recip is more compact than most despite the weight, so we really don't know what parts they used as I am no engineer myself. If I really didn't like the tool, I would've returned it by now, but the tool is quite the performer that it ended up replacing my Milwaukee gen 2 sawzall (the brand that created sawzall). People are probably thinking I am crazy for making such a move and a lot of it had to do with the anti vibration system. Flex and Metabo are just more user friendly than Milwaukee and won't shake the living hell out of you.

  • @Bustudent1
    @Bustudent1 ปีที่แล้ว

    I got my flex recip in that $85 kit deal. Really like it but I'm not a heavy user so the weight isn't all that much of a factor to me. Definitely like it more than the milwaukee fuel. Hopefully they can up their game as they expand and mature their lines of tools. Their prices have come down even to good deal territory every now and then.
    Concord Carpenter did a full review of 15+ recips too with flex 1 and Metabo (not mhpt) 3.
    Side point:
    Wonder if Lowe's jacked up your order after all the head butting y'all have had recently lol

      Check again that was a review of the lower powered recipes

      That's no secret. Best warranty, good service, powerful tools, good ergonomics. They don't play that battery game, they ONLY have High Output batteries. Their 36V tools also are all hybrid. You can plug them in. But in no way is this Flex better at all. No modes, small rafter hook, defective shoe removal mechanism, heavier, and unrelated to the tool, the battery was leaking... ON BRAND NEW TOOLS. It is smaller than the Metabo HPT and looks cooler though. They have the best looking tools in the game but I need everything else to be there too. Plus their stuff was really expensive, but they're coming down in price.
