    Keyword is “control”
    I add in avocado, coconut milk, honey, and carrier oils to any conditioner to create a deep treatment hair mask. Leaves my hair soft, tangle free, moisturized, bouncy, shiny, and smelling amazing. I like having control over what I put in my body and on my body. Thanks for sharing.

    I just finished applying this leave-in and instantly my hair was moisturized and super soft. This has never happened before since I've been natural. It even tamed my frizzy halo. Thank you o much GreenBeauty!! I can't wait to try the products I ordered from your site.

    I started making my own leave-in condish at home as well. The ingredients on commercial leave-ins are the same ones I already have in my pantry anyways. Flax seed gel is everything for retaining moisture and, combined with the glycerin.. Oh man!! My hair stays hydrated for longer.

    No, with its acid pH and small amount there's no need to add preservatives just store the portion you don't use in the refrigerator.

      Hey. I've been following your pH recommendations, but my styling cream measure around 6 and my 4c hair seems to love it. I know you recommend 3.5-4. When I bring the pH level down using Aloe, my hair feels hard. Will the styling cream eventually damage my hair. Btw, I use the L.O.C method.

    Doesnt anyone find coconut oil to be a drying oil?

    • @Sol-Amar
      @Sol-Amar 8 ปีที่แล้ว +54

      I do. They are penetrating oils..meaning they enter the hair strand versus others that coat and seal. The "drying" effect is even more apparent if you have low porosity hair. Also oils only lubricate, some seal, condition and nourish the hair..water is the only moisturizer.

    not every oil is good to use it as a leaving, coconut oil is good as a moisturizer but as a leaving, it can toast your hair after sun exposure. jojoba and olive oil don't toast hair.

    • @2Ryled
      @2Ryled 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coconut oil is for deep conditioning then wash out. Too heavy for leave in. A lighter oil is best, unless fractionation bc it makes molecules smaller but you might want to stick with oils not messed with in a lab. But do what works for you

    What if you are a low porosity natural like myself who doesn't take well to strengtheners such as coconut oil, flaxseed or aloe vera gel?-all of which I have tried and have left my hair feeling hard. Do you have any other alternative leave-ins? Also, how important are products in the 4-5.5 range for someone like myself who struggles with moisture retention seeing as acidic products cause the cuticles to close; which is the opposite of what I want to have happen?

    Hello. I was curious on your take is, for using sea salt in our hair to help define curls. I've been seeing quite a few videos but I, thought salt in your hair was a very bad thing. What do you know about this? Seems kind of crazy to me.

    • @enlightenmental_
      @enlightenmental_ 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Tasha & Von J salt dries hair quite a bit, and has a pH of about 5.5 if combined with water. It would cause your curl pattern to loosen slightly which may give the _appearance_ of curl definition, but may cause damage to the hair. As our hair likes a slightly more acidic environment than that and struggles to retain moisture, I wouldn’t think it’d be a good idea to use it.
      Just an educated opinion- use or discard as you please. 😊

    I'm in the military and have been watching your videos all weekend! Can this be used as an everyday moisturizer? As stated I'm in the military and to keep my hair neat cornrows and single braids have been my go too. Product sits on my hair which makes it low porosity. Please come through with a routine from start to finish! I want to purchase your protein treatment because with all the braiding I need it inbetween! Also I'm waiting on that flaxseed recipe so I can make this! Come through!!! Lol

      Hey Amelia, This leave-in recipe provides a little hold so it's not really needed as an everyday moisturizer. I definitely plan on posting a detailed video of my (low porosity) complete hair regimen soon, so please stay tuned. Here is a link to a video on the flaxseed recipe th-cam.com/video/8Oa7eq7fyZM/w-d-xo.html

    Hello,
    I tried this homemade leave in (without flaxeedgel - I am anxious for the video )!
    I really loved it! Great great!
    But I was thinking how could we manage with the thickness? How can we make it more thick to give a little of a hold?
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
    Kisses from Portugal!

    How do you preserve this leave in conditioner. Do I put it in the refrigerator? or I can just leave it on my bathroom beauty counter and use it daily?

    What is a good alternative to coconut oil?

    • @ash3536
      @ash3536 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jojoba, Avacado, and Olive Oil seem to replace coconut oil's moisture for me. They work quite well, Argan Oil as well, super moisturizing

    Is it mandatory to use a leave in conditioner could I just deep condition my hair. My hair regime is before I was my hair I do an onion juice treatment..... than I shampoo my hair than I condition my hair and do an avc rinse and than I would follow up with a deep conditioner..... I know some people do all of this including a diy conditioner and detangler is that considered too much manipulation

      Pretty sure any other oil would work. My best recommendation is Jojoba, and Argan Oil. They are my favorite oils in my pantry! I use them every week!
