Greta info Z! I’ve tried a few refugium lights over the years but the best success I’ve ever had was with a $30 ufo led grow light from Amazon. Even did better than the kessil that I have!

These videos are super high quality! Keep up the good work! I’m setting up a Red Sea reefer 250 G2 myself and this is really helping me along the way

Good work bro. You guys are lucky, there's nothing like Tampa Bay live rock available in the uk anymore.

My tanks filled with fish, coral and inverts I’ve found diving and in my refugium, I’ve got a bunch of macro algae that my fish eat in the wild so I can feed them the overgrowth. Quarantine for everything was a pain in the ass but it’s a slice of the reef that I’ve watched slowly die my whole life in my living room so it was definitely worth it.
I think the algae I added helped a lot though because of all the natural micro fauna it would have added and I’ve had no issues with nuisance algae or pests outside of the QT tank

Really enjoy your videos. What’s your view on Miracle mud?

Miracle mud use to be fairly popular back in the early 2000s. I don't see it used a lot now days it seems. I have never used it myself but from fellow reefers I know it is great for growing mangroves in a refugium and providing some elements back into the water column. Supposedly helps with nitrates, but a refugium full of macroalge will do the exact same thing. I would imagine it may also help with a new tank's biome. The trouble I have with it or reason I have avoided is that it is a little messy to deal with - and they say it needs to be replaced periodically...just something I don't want to deal with on top of all the other maintenance.
