Not only gts. All steel chassis as well.
    I regret buying a 2020 primavera.
Watching some videos about rust issues.
I found rust spots as well underneath and in the battery compartment.
Piaggio never do things correctly anymore

8 years ago I bought a 2006 Vespa GT200 (carbureted) It was in like new condition, original owner, 1800 miles, obviously never been left outside. It came with a color matched Vespa top case, still new in the box. I paid $2200 USD for it. It was absolutely spotless, no rust, no rotted hoses, looked like it just came off the showroom floor. Within the first couple months I had two problems with it. The vacuum petcock failed, and the water pump started leaking. I replaced both those myself. It now has just over 14,000 miles, it has been properly maintained and living room kept, and is still in like new condition, top to bottom. I live in Arizona, U.S., and things just don't rust here. I'm in the middle of a desert, hot and dry, no salt and no rain.

I got given a 2000 Vespa ET2 I’m currently restoring it and honestly it’s not bad at all for 24 years old the floor pan was very rusty but not rotten suprisingly I saved it! All ground back protected and stone chip painted ontop ready for its base coat next week they definitely don’t make them like that anymore. I see loads of Vespas that are like 6+ years old rotten already crazy!

Very instructive video. I think this should be playing nonstop on every reputable workshop at the "horror corner" to educate customers.

Feel for the old boy, some pricks sold him a lemon, feel for him. Looks like its a joyride thats been dumped in a stream wi the amount o alloy casing n chassis corrosion.

No way that rust and bodge weren't apparent at the MOT last July. I would advise the guy to report the MOT station. That did not go from perfect to that in 10 months.

Best case scenario: get another similar scooter and keep this turd for parts. Having said that, I wouldn't use anything from this but the alternative is give it a sea burial.

At least with the 2T vietbodges of olden days, they made an effort to make it a shiny polished terd. This one? Not so much.

that scooter could be fixed up if not for the high price of itaiian scoot parts, a gy6 exhaust , 50 quid, and chinese scoots dont use a monocoque frame, who buys these things from new, the last buyer probably lost the least money

whoever sold this I bet was about 17 wearing a tracksuit and had a man bag around his shoulder. I used to repair motorcycles and my grandson bought a pit bike off some chav, he brought it round to me and said the back tyre was flat, I took the tyre off and inside was a pair of jeans!
