@@kroomiester My wife said the same thing when we first played. And for the sake of explaining the game in this video cubes would have been nice. But in practice I haven’t had any issues with the score keeping. My kids (as young as 5) do just fine with keeping score and my wife has since said it actually works well. So it is a little unique but I’m personally fine with it. And while the box is small I am sure you could fit a bunch of little cubes in there and use those.
Cubes wouldn't fit the affordable Tiny Box line allplay has started. They are beginning to import great finds from Japan and have commissioned the talented Sai Beppu to design the art for all of them. Each game in the Tiny Box line will feature cards only and no other components. Personally, I prefer the lack of cubes as this is easy to keep in a travel box of card games and can even be be played standing up (have the dealer just flip the next card over and be the only player to shout their choice rather than hand-sign it).
I don't get it. Does the game come with actual fairies or not?

That scorekeeping mechanism sounds awful… could they really not include chits or cubes to track on your card??
