This was literally the last song Freddie recorded before his death. He was half blind, could not walk and was having problems breathing but he was absolutely driven to finish. Dr. Brian May has stated many times that he offered to stop recording and let him rest as it was very obvious he was not doing well at all. Freddie, in typical Freddie fashion, threw back a large vodka shot, said "I'll f'ing do it, darling" and then belted out this song in one take. This was Freddie's goodbye to his fans and it breaks my heart every time I listen to it...but listen to it I will because it is one of the most beautiful vocals Freddie ever produced. RIP Farouk Bulsara aka Freddie Mercury. Taken from us way to soon but never to be forgotten.
When Brian wrote this he told Freddie he wasn’t sue if he’d be to singing it...Freddie took a shot of vodka and said “I’ll fucking do it ,darling “ and when in and recoded it
Great video to react to. I love that song and to know Freddie was still at his best at the end because he wouldn’t accept any less from himself just shows you what a professional artist he was.
This sentence says it all , a moment that we all be going through. Freddie mercury. Quote I'll soon be turning, round the corner now Outside the dawn is breaking But inside in the dark I'm aching to be free
I saw queen at Knebworth in 1986 and remember being at work the day he died. As a child my first memory of Queen was hearing Bohemian Rhapsody in 75 and my love for Queen began. Personally the earlier albums are the best and as has been pointed out the prophets song, white queen and i'll throw in 'In the lap of the gods' and March of the black queen.
It was me who suggested to introduce your daughter to Queen :). Great reaction! I could see her eyes glued to the screen. Soon we'll have another Queen fan lol. 'One Vision' would be a nice follow-up to this song. But I noticed you have plenty of suggestions already in the comments lol. Have fun and thank you for the great reaction. I'm really looking forward to see more
i never heard this song before it's wonderful particurlarly since he was so sick.. You should listen to Dimash's rendition, Reactors have said that Freddie would be proud, but you would know
I’m sorry it got blocked. I don’t know how it works with reactors but I checked Dimash Show Must Go On and there was about 1/2 dozen videos to pick from.
FYI it is a montage of video clips from other songs. Freddie in drag is from the "I want to break free' video. There was no video for this song. I don't think.
This is my all-time favorite Queen song. It blows me away that Freddie delivered this vocal performance at a time when he was extremely ill and still found the strength to make music.
Just saw this today... my favourite song from News of the World album was not released as a single, but I love it to this day. Give a listen to It’s Late.
React to Barcelona, Freddie, and Montesat. Anything they did live. She wanted to do it live at the 1992 Olympics but Freddie told her he wouldn't be there. When she asked why he sat her down and told her he had aids. She, the band, their manager, Marie Austin, and Jim Hudden were the only people that knew from what I gather. They had a wonderful friendship and both had masterful stage presence.
Hey gorgeous and love your show. This song is Oprah special because it was put out about six weeks prior to Freddie Mercury dying.. he must have finished this sometime around the spring mating May of 1991 and June was the last time he was ever in the studio
Try Mother Love. It's emotional to listen to... It was his final recording and he never finished it, Brian May sang the final verse. And despite it all, Freddie still hit those notes...insanely talented.
Freddie was on Death's Door, and Brian May wrote the song, while thinking Freddie couldn't do it. "I'll fucking do it, darling." Freddie replied. He knocked back some vodka, and killed it. Epic.
You really need to react to Queen live aid full concert 1985 it’s only 20 mins long it’s so iconic it’s legendary I was there it was freaking awesome and amazing it will take you’re breath away awesome reaction
Freddy's voice was soo amazing , and anytime i hear this song i cry alot . There's another 3 song's so beautiful that you really should react too , and the last 2 they were the last song's that freddy sang before he die😔😪1"Who wants to live forever" , 2 "In my defence" & 3 "Time waits for nobody" . Trust me you will love them all !! Ronny
hi sassy i was in the kitchen so i had queen on & decided to check you out. do you or any one know what video it is where they pour water on freddies head? the show must go on is sad to me. thanks sassy. wear a mask & take care of you, betty
Hey Tom...with you clue I found it...Queen Live Japan 85...Freddie thru the water in the air and jumped under it...I always wondered where it came from.
How cool to introduce your pretty daughter to this sad and beautiful song! The official video has a tendency to distract from the music, though... you might know the most of the videos shown, since you started your Queen journey.
It was believed that "These were the days" would be his last song and he insisted it be posthumous. I saw Queen live twice and "the show must go on" still means the most th-cam.com/video/E4tmfzNjsvA/w-d-xo.html
Wrote when Freddie found out he had HIV he was getting weaker as time went by and this was basically Freddie saying that he was going to sing the songs for as long as he was able and that the Illness was not going to stop him doing music because it was what he loved
Sassy you should do a reaction to was it all worth it from the miracle album. You must listen to the entire thing and listen to the words because it's so right on but the music is freaking beautiful. It's such a Freddy song and it's talking about playing his trumpet in his drums and staying up all night and asking if it was worth it. It's a really really good song and you will love a little bit of the synthesizers and it because they don't normally put them in anything that they do but they did in this song
I heard that at that point Freddie had quit smoking, which actually helped his voice. I believe Brian wrote this song, and was worried Freddie wasn’t up to singing and recording this song. The story says Freddie down a shot of vodka, and laid the song down in one take.
Before all this TH-cam stuff, you grew up listening to your parents music in the home or car. Not sitting them down and saying “this is what mum listen to at your age”. Hence why I love genesis.
Sassy, pleased to meet your friend, Do you think the Queen song 'The Prophets Song' is sort of relevant to what is happening to the world right now, i.e. the Corona virus?
Teo toriatte Jealously Prophet song Death on 2 legs March of the black queen Dreamers ball Mustapha 39 I'm in love with my car Delilah Bijou Leaving home ain't easy Just a few for you to be going on with play the studio versions.
The story goes that Freddie turned up at the studio and was shown the lyrics to this song by Brian May the guitarist. Freddie said you dont expect me to sing this do you and Brian said well yes . Freddie said go get me a vodka then drank it and did this song in one take . What a fantastic performer
Freddie had the most incredible voice in rock Pop history..and he did it all with out a lick of Autotune or quantizing ..It was PURE TALENT
What a close for an oustanding voice ... RIP... Freddy !

Queens set at Live Aid, the best live performance ever.
Best voice for a legend that is already ill.. still goes on to sing those high notes to the world...
His vocals were done in one take! BADASS!! Still love you Freddie!
When Brian wrote this he told Freddie he wasn’t sue if he’d be to singing it...Freddie took a shot of vodka and said “I’ll fucking do it ,darling “ and when in and recoded it
Freddie was actually offended that Brian would ask him that. Legend is mixed as to whether it was one or two shots of Vodka.
And in one session/take. Absolutely amazing.
Great video to react to. I love that song and to know Freddie was still at his best at the end because he wouldn’t accept any less from himself just shows you what a professional artist he was.

You’re so lucky 🤗 I have to do Prophets song soon . Stay safe and thank you for watching 😍
Still a hard song to listen to without a tear. Celine dione made a very good live performance a while ago. Not freddy but still excellent.
my favourite song too,amaaaaazing
This was written by Brian May the lead guitarist of Queen, about Freddie's struggle to create as much music as possible.
It was me who suggested to introduce your daughter to Queen :). Great reaction! I could see her eyes glued to the screen. Soon we'll have another Queen fan lol. Yes you did! She will be back to do more reactions 😍
It's my fave too. It charted just a few weeks before Freddie died. We all knew he was ill but his death still came as a shock.
Freddie died 9 months later. Freddie was pure Talent. The group where very special.
You have to show her Somebody To Love from Montreal.
Yes I love that performance 🤗
i never heard this song before it's wonderful particurlarly since he was so sick.. You should listen to Dimash's rendition, Reactors have said that Freddie would be proud, but you would know

Queen- это феномен(аж мурашки побежали).

Freddie is the best frontman ever. Nobody can come close to him.♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
he died a month after this video came out. It makes me cry every time I hear it
So sad 😭
Freddie Mercury es mi dios 👑🙌👑

I did white queen before but it got blocked😡
Sassy Ocampo Try it again - other reactors have done it
He was so ill he was unable to stand for long so he could not a video to this, the man is a legend, the likes of which will never be seen again !
Looks like she needs to watch the I Want To Break Free video so she can see Freddie and the boys in drag! Also his love ballet!
Yes I love that video 🤗
best queen song ever
I can't believe he did this right before he died...
Hey gorgeous and love your show. This song is Oprah special because it was put out about six weeks prior to Freddie Mercury dying.. he must have finished this sometime around the spring mating May of 1991 and June was the last time he was ever in the studio

I did live aid already 🤗
It was actually the song that was supposed to coincide with the release of "greatest hits 2" in the UK.. it re-entered the chart on Freddie's death
Love your videos and your daughter!

Like the montages of all the other albums.
I LOVE it! Since she's artistic, you should definitely have her react to..... Innuendo💕
Yes that’s a good one 🤗 thanks 😊
Great Reaction. It was very interesting to see. Let her react to Queen - White Queen (A Night At The Odeon - Hammersmith 1975)
I did white queen already but it got blocked . I will try it again 🤞🤗
@@SassyOcampo oh okay wow Good Luck
Sassy Ocampo Please do try again....you might have to pause it once? Hugs 🤗
This song is fire 🔥🔥🔥
You should check out, only the good die young. Sad but beautiful. A tribute to Freddie by the other band members.

B smith...I have wondered that also.
Two things I know that narrow it down:
It's a performance of Crazy Little Thing Called Love from The Works tour.
Hey Tom...with you clue I found it...Queen Live Japan 85...Freddie thru the water in the air and jumped under it...I always wondered where it came from.
Freddie did NOT record this song in one take
Great job! I think you should react to the black widow marvel movie! Hi it’s grant in Philly!
Thank you very much! I think you should react to the black panther marvel movie! I really appreciate it!
She would love Innuendo
Love her T-shirt - mine’s worn out!
How cool to introduce your pretty daughter to this sad and beautiful song!

He sang the whole song in one take, despite being desperately ill. Brian said that "Freddie completely lacerated it"

Freddie's last ever vocals are the song "mother love" he was too ill to complete it and Brian May sings the final verse
Sorry but no.. he sang the high bit at the end in one take
Wrote when Freddie found out he had HIV he was getting weaker as time went by and this was basically Freddie saying that he was going to sing the songs for as long as he was able and that the Illness was not going to stop him doing music because it was what he loved

@@RoverWaters It is very unlikely that he could have. At least a few (parts of) lines came from unreleased stuff recorded earlier.

Freddie was too sick to be able to do a video by the time this song was recorded, which is why they just complied clips from previous videos.
