    Great tips, Laurie, thanks! I bought that backpack on your recommendation, and with it I was able to travel to Oregon *and* Florida with a carry-on and no suitcase. First time ever! I watched a ton of your videos before my weeklong trip in May/June and got so much good info out of them and out of the comments from your smart fans. I don't have any trips planned but am still enjoying your videos. Thanks again, and have fun in Canada!

    I 💯 %%% can vouch for the backpack she is showing! I bought it and went to a conference with it. It was AMAZING!! It has 17 pockets! Very comfortable to wear, and I knew where everything was easily. I was able to empty it when I arrived at the conference, and use it DURING the conference. I bought that backpack on your recommendation in a previous video for my 10-day Canadian cruise. It was AMAZING! I didn't have packing cubes so I improvised with gallon freezer bags and I got a hoodie, my weather resistant jacket, denim capris, t-shirt, underwear/socks, mask, pajamas, my phone charger/cord, travel documents, most immediate needed personal care items (cruise ship has shampoo and body wash in the cabin so I didn't even bother taking that stuff, I'm not picky), AND my knitting project I had just started. Still had room for small souvenir swag! Highly recommend this bag. Whomever invented the strap to slip over your suitcase handle was a genius!

    I took the laundry sheets idea on a river cruise. Your best idea was a jumbo ziploc which allowed us to wash out 4-6 pieces in the bag in the tiny sink. I have hook clips to easily hang up underwear, and 2 flat plastic hangers. All clothes had passed my 6 hour drip test at home - from soaking wet to dry in 6 hours!

My sister and traveling companion doesn't believe me, but I'm slowly changing her mind. 🙃 I've watched so many videos about packing, but your site is the best. We have 42 days of cruising (3 cruises back to back) of the Mediterranean a transatlantic back to the U.S.A. beginning with a flight to Venice Italy starting in November. 80% of my clothing is quick dry for traveling. I think you recommended the Travelon secure travel purse and I thank you for that. I ordered 3 from Amazon before our trip to see which I liked best. A pocket to the inside of my body held our passports, credit cards, and other items we wanted secure. Inside, I used little pouches to keep our money separated. The front pocket held our tour tickets, etc. Each pocket had the double lock option and the straps was slash proof. It was mostly comfortable, but I think I might like some kind of pad next time.

      Regarding extra screening or the precheck line being closed, that's the reason I'm very grateful that disabled passengers with precheck still get on-person precheck when going through standard security (still have to take things out, though).

    Those laundry sheets are very practical. I have used them twice, once on my trip to Dubai last year and this year when we went to Indiana for a week. The first trip I was able to wash all my undies and bras in the hotel sink. For the trip to Indiana, I was able to wash a whole load of laundry using 7 sheets. Everything came out clean and smelling fresh. We dried everything and came home with no laundry at all!! Ahhh what a relief.

After all, they go to school with backpacks (at least mine did) They were packed with the things they might need/want during travelling. This was pre-screen era, so often colouring things, toys etc. We did learn to check their bags though😅 On two occasions we were pulled aside because of (school-)scissors in a bag! Luckily they were too small to be confiscated.

    Hi Laurie, I have just recently discovered your channel and I am really enjoying the information, tips, etc. you provide. I have traveled quite a bit but because of some mobility issues (and my age) I am having to rethink my standards used carry on. I have been researching quite a bit but when I noticed your backpack I was quite interested. Here’s my question…I will never use a backpack and since they don’t seem to have a “tuck away” option do you think the bag would lend itself to me cutting off the straps? I know this is a weird question but hey, I really love everything else about the bag. Thanks for your opinion.

    • @TravelTipsbyLaurie
      @TravelTipsbyLaurie  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it would! Have you thought about tote bags?

    • @kathrynhelm4176
      @kathrynhelm4176 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply Laurie. Yes, I’ve researched all you have covered plus all reviews and am still considering a few of them. However, for my particular requirements your backpack just fit perfectly with its size (some totes are so big), location and number of pockets, etc. I just wouldn’t need the straps as I travel with a mobility scooter and my shoulders wouldn’t hold up with the straps. Getting old is no fun but I’m not giving up my traveling…I’ll just adapt. 🤣🥰

    • @TravelTipsbyLaurie
      @TravelTipsbyLaurie  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi! So you have to search your airline + carry on bag requirements. Some backpacks are humongous so they are considered a carry-on. A personal item for your airline goes under the airplane seat in front of you. So google those sizes too. I have had all 4 airlines now ask me to put my crossbody bag away before boarding (as soon as you get in, you can take it out). They get charged $10,000+ if people board with 3 bags.
