when you said "i spent a lot of this year feeling like i was almost on the right track but like there was something that was just a bit off" i felt that so much omg, thats pretty much my 2018 in a nutshell
DONT BE FOOLED! The hobonichi paper is crazy good quality and is very durable! don't be scared!!! :-) people use fountain pens, water color, gouache!!!! go insane, girl! You're going to love it. This is so funny because the bullet journal wasn't working for me anymore as well and I really wanted to switch to the hobonichi haha this has convinced me a little
I tried bullet journalling a few months back and I felt so overwhelmed so I stopped halfway. I couldn't continue bcs I didn't like the way I did my spreads bcs I was copying others and not my own style. I found your channel few days back and I fell in love with your videos. I have depression and watching your videos really made me feel so much better. I'm also getting back to bullet journalling again. you have a new subscriber! thank you!
I came for bullet journaling inspiration because I too have been feeling disconnected with my bullet journal for a while. But what I got is life advice, wisdom, and wise words! This was so unexpectedly refreshing. Thank you ❤️
Wow my biggest bujo inspiration has stopped using a bujo..totally get why tho. I hope this new system serves you well and that the new year brings you happiness and all the good things you deserve
this is such a mood as someone who has anxiety/depression and journals. When I was doing worse, I would do nothing for months and then think that meant I had failed at life. Now, I can say with my whole self that’s not true. If you zombie out until noon, you have the whole rest of the day, It’s not ruined because of a bad moment. Your success isn’t defined by your worst moments.
The paper in the hobonichi techo (tomoe river paper) is thin but it can withstand a lot. Lots of people also enjoy using fountain pens in them -- have you ever thought about trying one of those? I've been using a Weeks for 2 years now (same paper) and I know many people actually paint in their A6s! Copics are still a no though -- since that ink is alcohol based, it will still bleed. I'm so excited you're using a hobonichi this year! :D
I admire how much you openly talk about your mental health struggles so bluntly. Personally, I love your personality because I find it so dam relate-able, I struggle with the same exact thing and I really wanna try my best to improve myself and love myself as well. I believe in you
‘Start where you are, because it’s kind of the only option you have’ Thank you for the inspiration & advice in this difficult & new time for me. This was a sweet eye-opener.
I am so inspired to know that it is so very difficult for others to journal when suffering too.I have PTSD & horrible Anxiety... I've been hard on myself & need to quit putting unrealistic goals in my head. I have water colored and decorated pages in the hopes of journaling as soon as the new year started. I Have wrote Tid bits on smaller papers( like you with post it notes) that I plan to tip in. but as silly as it sounds with the book sitting right 1 foot away it's hard to sit down and do it when my thoughts are so scrambled. Anyways I am glad to know that you're willing to be open and make others feel like it's okay. I appreciate that a lot. I hope you have a wonderful year and I feel the same way with the seasonal issues I have not been diagnosed with that but I live in Ohio and the weather seems to affect both my husband's mood, as well as my own a lot. Thank you for your videos they mean a lot. I hope you feel just a little better each and every day...
Melissa Cox I’m sorry to hear! I hope you are able to feel better in the new year. I have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression, and the same thing happens to me. I get so overwhelmed I just can’t imagine journaling, even though I recognize that it only takes a few minutes and would probably help me. You are most definitely not alone, and there is no reason to bully yourself because you are struggling at the moment. Good luck in the new year! :)
Hey I can somewhat relate in that sense too, I was diagnosed with Narcolespy and cataplexy (sleep/movement disorder) and I have depressive times, not sure about you but I find it hard to sit down and be creative and journal and when I try I just can’t seem to do it; like some type of block... Happy 2019!! ☺️
Also I rewatched this w my mom and when you read the murakami quote and she was it wasn’t depressing. That it sounds like you’re just ready for people to come again.
As a 5-year HOBO user, I am soooooo exciting to see the TH-camr I loooooove will use this notebook for 2019!!! The paper quality is really good, you can definitely use fountain pens and watercolor on it (but not markers with alcohol!) Because the paper is very thin, it's better for you to use a thin board underneath the paper you are writing on, in case leaving heavy imprints on other paper. HOBO is actually quite free if you don't care about the dates that much. Many journal lovers in China use HOBO for washi tape collage, and I am really curious about your more-effective-based version. Happy new year and wish you allllll the best!
I was looking for some journal inspiration and remembered this video, and, of course, it looks great, but also wowowow I'm so happy/proud of how much better cheyenne is doing these days. It's such a good reminder that even if progress feel slow, we're also going, and it's good.
Kinda random, but you're seriously incredible. I really love your art and your videos. Most importantly is how amazing it is to hear you talk about yourself and your art. I have ADD and depression, my life is a huge roller coaster of up and down and starting over and over again. The things you say and do are all things that I do and say. It feels great to be able to have that person I follow that really feels like me. Thank you so so much for sharing with us. I'm really excited to follow you this year, no matter how many ups and downs we both have. You're absolutely amazing. ❤❤❤❤😘
I felt the same with bullet journaling last year. I went from doing monthly spreads and daily spreads to just a monthly calendar for each month. Completely lost inspiration. Hoping to get back into it this year since it’s one of my favourite creative outlets. Excited to see how your new method of journaling works out
I love your a style of bullet journaling when looking at your overall pages. It's random and pretty and organized in it's own way and I think that when it's other than that it's now unique. I am always changing things up in style except in my Simple Stories planner which is consistent in style, colors and process in general but I like how that looks in general and I am the biggest fan of their products in general.
I just discovered your channel a few days ago. Your esthetic is lovely. The authenticity that you bring is truly beautiful. I teach, and I think the way you talk about mental health and your process is so necessary for everyone! I would definitively share your work with my students! Please keep creating, you are wonderful!
love the line you wrote about making decisions based on curiosity and not fear. that is something i have been struggling with for years, and i really need to focus on this year. thank you for the reminder and the constant inspiration!!
I really like your bullet journal style ❤️ I find I struggle with combining journaling and decorations for my spreads. When I write, I write pages and pages for just one day so I’ve switched to journaling on my blog. I love your videos. I struggle with depression and anxiety too and you make me feel like I’m not alone. You inspire me to keep fighting. Thank you!!
I use the hobonichi weeks myself and it is perfect for me. I can still 'bullet journal' in it if I want to . But it is less intimidating and I can easily carry it with me. I have been loving it!
I swear I’ve watched this video at least 10x because TH-cam really likes sliding your videos into my recommendations and playlist while I’m letting it run automatically (not that I mind all that much because I love your content) but wow, every time I‘m itching to buy stationary, 24:26 pops up in my head in the exact way that you sang it “IMpulSe SHopPinG is nOt SUStainABle~” so thank you for helping me save money 💞
You needed this new system and I’m so happy for you for going through your bullet journal, despite how you felt throughout the last year. Also thank you for that.
i’ve loved your bujo spreads for a long while but i switched to a hobonichi last year, so i was looking at a lot more hobonichi users vs traditional bujo users. you’ve always been one of my favourite ppl tho so i’m so happy to see that you’re using a hobonichi now as well!!!!! i’m super excited to see what you do with your hobonichi and get mega inspired by you all over again~
i hope you do more plan with me’s in your hobonichi this one was very inspiring to me and encouraged me to get the first few pages in mine done (even a few days late)
ahhh been waiting for this! so great to hear you talk about how your bullet journaling changed/evolved and reflect. I hope 2019 is full of new opportunities and growth for you! 💖💜✨
Sometimes you just need a change. „a breath of fresh air“. I Love bullet journals but only use it every 2nd year. Bc at the end of the „Bujo Year“ Im kinda over it. I think its awesome that you dont force yourself to use it and try out other Planners ☺️👍🏻
OMG everytime that you upload a video is like "stop everything i have to watch it!!" Or if i'm busy i wait till night to watch it quiet. I love your videos and your art. Thanks for sharing it with us! Have a great year darling!
I just started using the Hobonichi Weeks, but I still plan on using a bullet journal and hopefully more consistently this year. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos and I hope your year is beyond great!! Here's to more self-love and creative projects!
It won't take alcohol markers, and dark colours will 'ghost' through, but the Japanese know paper, so regardless of how thin is super durable, so do experiment with it. Watercolour markers work crazy well, so do fountain pens and watercolours. You'll be pleasantly surprised. Also, the crinkle factor with watercolour is delicious because it flattens back out but the sound is divine :D
A bit late to this video as I have been away travelling but this is very exciting! I actually got gifted a day to a page planner for my birthday back in october and was wondering how to use it/ if I should keep using my bujo/ how to organise it so I am so excited to see you using a similar planner! I also feel that it's nice to see someone step away from the bujo as I have been feeling a little lost with it over the past few months but felt bad for not working out a way to continue with it. very excited for future videos :)
Oh I couldn't wait to see how you plan with your hobonichi techo! I also purchased the hobonichi cousin in A5 and I started to write down yesterday.. I already love this planner :) happy new year to you!
cheyenne!! this was so sweet. best of luck with your hobonichi! i’ve opted to go for a leuchtturm and it’s a bit daunting but we’re going to roll with it. i hope 2019 is kind to us all, and i truly hope that you are kind to yourself and that you maintain your resolutions (i beleaf in u! 🌱). here’s to growth and personal development 🌻
Happy 2019! It's hard to believe an entire year has gone by already, and watching your flip through reminded me that I've been a subscriber since you published 2017's flip through! Your genuineness, positivity, and creativity have inspired me so much throughout 2018 and you continue to do so. I can't wait to see what you have planned for this year, and I hope your new adorable hobonichi inspires you and treats you well. (I love the cover you chose, but I'm a sucker for anything with a cute cat on it haha!) Good luck Cheyenne, and I love you very much :)
Can totally relate with the self sabotaging and with eating and meds. Sometimes by brain just doesn’t spark to think or remember, it’s annoying sometimes... Good to know I’m not the only creative who has some type of block sometimes. I like your idea with the swap of journal, I first started of with a sketchbook that I used as a Diary with bullet journal elements to create and switch up layouts. I’ve decided for my 2019 journal I plan to incorporate more Diary type writing as well ☺️✨ Happy 2019
i wonder if the amazing shining-delta-thingy that was on the old bujos can somehow be carried through to this new hobonichi, or at least the concept of it! we do stan self-love! thank you though chey, a lovely start to my 2019! (i got the motivation to set up my planner while watching this, means the world)
i have been holding off on watching this because i know ill love it so much and have been wanting to savour it!! :) i love your style; i have pulled aspects from some of your spreads in the past to inspire some of mine so im glad you are continuing!
Happy new years Chey! And anyone else who may be reading this! I've been going through a book on creativity (Art & Soul Reloaded by Pam Grout) and one of the things she suggests is just coming up with a couple ideas every day. She suggests a journal, but I've tapped up a sheet of paper on my wall, and have just been writing them there. Most of them are just silly random things to flex that creativity muscles. (Sheet masks with animal faces printed on them, a Google home plug in that automatically sets all electronics volume to low during quite hours), but you never know when one of those ideas might be your next big project, right? And if not, at least you're practicing coming up with creative ideas. Just thought you (or the people in this community) might find it an interesting idea. Wishing you love and compassion for 2019 ❤️
I've been waiting for this video all this month!! I love that you're taking on something new like the Hobonichi and going with what your gut is telling you. Stay strong and hope you have an awesome new year!!! :)
You are awesome and I am impressed that a Texan can make it and thrive in the Northwest! Love your videos and especially your articulate nature, art and vibe! All the best to you for this New Year. :)
I looooove the hobonichi! The paper is gorgeous! I've used it for heavy water color and fountain pens - shadowing exists but not bleed (unless you use sharpie!). Sooo excited for you!
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS VIDEO!!! I'm so happyyyyyyyy, you are my favourite person to watch, thank you for all of the effort you've put into posting, i know its hard
I love your video! Always get a notification when you upload and this is my favourite. Like you, I have outgrown my bujo and am currently working in a hobonichi weeks mega. I was thinking on getting a hobonichi techo a6, but somehow thought it was a good idea to go for the weeks... *fail* I feel bad for weeks and decided to use it for 2019 so that I am not wasting paper.. after seeing this video I want it even more...*patients said my mind, not available said my creative spirit* hahaha. Anyway, I'm very much looking forward seeing your plan with me video's for this beautiful hobonichi. And and and the products you will release for this. You go girl!
you are so inspiring and i am looking forward to your new style jounal vids! anyone who's reading this, good luck and have so much fun this year! you can do it
I said the same thing to my bullet journal. My best friend accidently bought two Law of Attraction planners, so she sent me one, and I decided to give it a try. I am also going to try to work on journaling more often in a separate thing because it is really personal and a bit too private to share on the internets.
Thank you for sharing Cheyenne! Have a very happy new year! I'm so happy to be with you, whatching you grow and explore your creativity! Such an honor! Be happy, wonderful woman!
this video made me feel so good honestly and so happy and motivated for what this year has to bring, and I wish you the best with achieving your goals and I hope this new planning system works out for you :)
I know this is an older video and you haven't been making any bullet journal videos but your aesthetic a breed between bullet journaling and junk journaling/creative journaling is 100% my aesthetic and vibe! However, being a capricorn I lack creativity past all my inspiration for weekly and monthly spreads as i keep the entire rest of my journal practical. But with lacking creativity for all my other practical spreads it would be an angel send if you'd be willing/able to make a video for this upcoming August on how to do this aesthetic for other spreads such as habit trackers (habits, mood, sleep, etc.) , workout, food, finances, reading, cleaning, etc etc etc! Any few of any of these with your take on them would be so appreciated and loved and amazing!! I have the blueprint of all the practical side of all these that I need to and want to track in my daily life including a work tracker being self employed and since most of what I need to track takes up most if not all the page I don't know how to venture out mentally to keep the same aesthetic everywhere even if I have little to no space. Please help!(: Love and miss these videos and truly hope you and yours are staying healthy and happy 💕
Thank you for sharing that biodiversity heritage library resource!!! So awesome! I’ve been searching for physical books and haven’t found anything even close to this!! 🌷🌷🌷
Thank you for being so honest ❤️. Your videos are a joy to watch, and I feel extra warm and happy when I see you've uploaded something new 😉. Happy new year! And P. S.: if you are, you don't need to feel embarrassed that you didn't keep up with your bujo that much. It's cool 😎 👉👉
I loveeee the hobonichi. I’m sure you have already discovered, it handles water based markers very well like zebra fine liners and tombow.. I recently discovered your channel and superrrr love your style ❤️
All of this looks great even if it didn't feel like it 💕 you've been my favourite new youtube discovery in 2018 and I love your videos so much ✨ happy new year! 💜
I loved this video!! It's the second one of yours I've seen and I am adoring it. ALSO, Hobonichi tip. So when I lived in Japan, I would buy "Zebra Mildliner" as highlighters because they never bled and come in cute colours!! Hope this helps
your bullet journal journey is pretty much what I went through 2018, compared to 2017. I really liked your business plan section.Wwill be adding that to mine this year and give bujo-ing one more try in 2019
I switched from bullet journal to hobonichi this year too! My hobonichi is my daily journal and my buju changed to lists and trackers that I haven't figured out how to stop doing or restructure yet :)
You should definitely try markers on the Tomoe River paper. It's made for fountain pens so it is VERY ink resistant and can take the wettest pens without bleeding or feathering!
I am stating my first Hobonichi techo as well this year!! Wishing us both luck and creativity for 2019!! Love your videos, I relate to you so much and you help me feel better about myself! Thank you!!
when you said "i spent a lot of this year feeling like i was almost on the right track but like there was something that was just a bit off" i felt that so much omg, thats pretty much my 2018 in a nutshell
DONT BE FOOLED! The hobonichi paper is crazy good quality and is very durable! don't be scared!!! :-) people use fountain pens, water color, gouache!!!! go insane, girl! You're going to love it. hi seo ❤️❤️❤️
here again ❤❤❤❤ always love cheyenne and her journals and her wisdom and her passion --- i wish to have too. ❤❤❤

Wow my biggest bujo inspiration has stopped using a bujo..totally get why tho. I hope this new system serves you well and that the new year brings you happiness and all the good things you deserve

Also no to Sharpies.

my most anticipated video of this season !! love your stuff, wishing you a happy and productive new year

idk why this video doesn’t have more views. The cinematography the visuals the soft cozy homey spreads wow!
Also I rewatched this w my mom and when you read the murakami quote and she was it wasn’t depressing. That it sounds like you’re just ready for people to come again.

I am very excited to see Hobonichi sized stickers!
Thanks for being so real. These videos are therapy for me.
Oh I couldn't wait to see how you plan with your hobonichi techo! I also purchased the hobonichi cousin in A5 and I started to write down yesterday.. I already love this planner :) happy new year to you!
I find quite amazing that your pages look insanely beautiful and it seems that you do it without even trying💖
The quality of your videos, the music, and your voice soothe my soul. Cant wait to watch this one ❤
cheyenne!! this was so sweet. best of luck with your hobonichi! i’ve opted to go for a leuchtturm and it’s a bit daunting but we’re going to roll with it. i hope 2019 is kind to us all, and i truly hope that you are kind to yourself and that you maintain your resolutions (i beleaf in u! 🌱). here’s to growth and personal development 🌻
Techo is pronounced just like it’s spelled, like the “ch” in chocolate
Oli Donohue and now I know that I have an Finnish accent.. It’s pronouced like ”tekno” here... like second c on Chocolite..
Here's to a year of wonder and curiosity!

I’ve decided for my 2019 journal I plan to incorporate more Diary type writing as well ☺️✨ Happy 2019
ohh god Cheyenne I swear you deserve all the best. you're honestly like I dont even know what to say but I love you so much
i wonder if the amazing shining-delta-thingy that was on the old bujos can somehow be carried through to this new hobonichi, or at least the concept of it! we do stan self-love! thank you though chey, a lovely start to my 2019!
Wishing you love and compassion for 2019 ❤️
Watching this again at 2 AM because I can't sleep.
Can‘t wait to see more of your Hobonichi planning ;)
I would love to see a hobonichi update 💕💕💕
Love your bullet jojrnsps!!! 💜💜❤🤍💛💛🤍🤎❤💜😍👍👍😍💜🤎🤍💛💛
I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS VIDEO!!! I'm so happyyyyyyyy, you are my favourite person to watch, thank you for all of the effort you've put into posting, i know its hard
HAPPY NEW YEAR CHEY! Oooooooo wheeeee... girrrllll.. I cannot WAIT to see what you do in that cute A6 size.
this video has all the reasons why i love you so muchhh💕 this gave me such a puSH!! happy new year lovely💛💛
I love what you did with the hobonichi! I think this new system is going to serve you very well :)
I get so excited every time you post a new video!
Happy 2019, Cheyenne! May we be better to ourselves for our own sakes this year 💕
you are so inspiring and i am looking forward to your new style jounal vids! anyone who's reading this, good luck and have so much fun this year! you can do it
I said the same thing to my bullet journal.
YAAASSSSSS @ this notification coming thruu!!! 😁💜
aaaaa i’m so so happy this is finally up, thank u & happy new year to my primary art & bujo inspo!!!! 💛 WORTH THE WAIT
this video made me feel so good honestly and so happy and motivated for what this year has to bring, and I wish you the best with achieving your goals and I hope this new planning system works out for you :)
The hobonichi spread looks awesome!
You sound so happy!!!
happy new year chey!!! you're such an amazing person and i hope the new year brings you beautiful things!
Thank you for sharing that biodiversity heritage library resource!!! So awesome! I’ve been searching for physical books and haven’t found anything even close to this!! 🌷🌷🌷
happy new year Cheyenne!! You rock
I’m not the only one that says thank you and I love you to my planners and journals! Hahaha!
I loveeee the hobonichi. I’m sure you have already discovered, it handles water based markers very well like zebra fine liners and tombow.. I recently discovered your channel and superrrr love your style ❤️
This is great :) What a breath of fresh air for you in the new year, v excited to see what the new year holds for all of us
All of this looks great even if it didn't feel like it 💕 you've been my favourite new youtube discovery in 2018 and I love your videos so much ✨ happy new year! 💜
i LOVE that hobonichi cover!!! so pretty. also very excited for u and this video has got me more optimistic for the new year as well :~)
I really like that you are so real, happy new year 💕
I am in love with your handwriting ❤️ happy new year🎄✨
I loved this video!!
I really liked your business plan section.Wwill be adding that to mine this year and give bujo-ing one more try in 2019
Thank you for such a lovely video! I‘m using the hobonichi techo this year too and I am so so excited - thank you for sharing!!
Happy New Year, Cheyenne. I just loved everything about your plans this 2019. Keep going. :)
Very excited about this. Would love to see the process and flipthroughs. thank you for posting. my a6 at moment is just writing x
Thank you so very much for the mini pep talk at the end
I am stating my first Hobonichi techo as well this year!! Wishing us both luck and creativity for 2019!! Love your videos, I relate to you so much and you help me feel better about myself! Thank you!!
You inspired me to get the hobonichi! Literally you just mentioned it in one of your vlogmas vids, I looked it up and fell in love 😍 lol thanks!
Happy new year cheyenne!! I pray 2019 will be good for you, me, and the world! Also I love your art style so much 💛
I really love how you build your spreads ☺️
my favorite video of the year!!
