Splane just gave me instructions for attending my JW mothers funeral, no saying prayers - I didn't intend to, no saying amen - no intention, do I stand out of respect - only thing he said is a husband ( unbelieving) would be happy if she just sit quietly until its over. He was at the circuit assembly i went to this year. Man now that im awake he really made me angry. Telling everyone that higher education is a waste of time especially 4 years. Chaka, i remember when the jw website first got going and everyone was encouraged to watch the regular broadcasts and all that, i noticed something disturbing that i brought up with others, but they didnt seem to notice or care or deem it important: i saw that any of the GB members who hosted all wore the same ring on their right ring-finger. A gold ring with a flat, gold, circular top, with some kind of symbol stamped into it (from what i can see so far, splane isnt wearing it in this compilation). As soon as i saw it, i got serious 'secret society' vibes, especially when i noticed most of the GB were wearing them, but everyone i asked or mentioned it to brushed it aside. Had you ever noticed that? Do you know what thats all about?

He was at the circuit assembly i went to this year. Man now that im awake he really made me angry. Telling everyone that higher education is a waste of time especially 4 years. Unless its to go to school quick for a trade and then you can help on projects. Also he kept saying we need to listen to direction from the governing body including himself. I wanted to yell you are on the governing body! So even you need to listen to your own direction? You hit the nail right on the head Chaka he is a major control freak and thinks everyone else is an idiot. This is faux humility as Governing Body members won't lose an opportunity to remind everyone they are on the Governing Body, even though they've already been introduced as such at the beginning of their talks and everybody knows who they are. On some level though, I think there's some truth to this as illustrated by the beard U-turn where half the Governing Body grew beards as soon as THEY lifted the ban.
I also find it super culty that they have to keep reminding everyone to follow their rules. I mean how many times do you have to repeat the same thing?

Chaka, i remember when the jw website first got going and everyone was encouraged to watch the regular broadcasts and all that, i noticed something disturbing that i brought up with others, but they didnt seem to notice or care or deem it important: i saw that any of the GB members who hosted all wore the same ring on their right ring-finger. A gold ring with a flat, gold, circular top, with some kind of symbol stamped into it (from what i can see so far, splane isnt wearing it in this compilation). As soon as i saw it, i got serious 'secret society' vibes, especially when i noticed most of the GB were wearing them, but everyone i asked or mentioned it to brushed it aside.

The next 3 clips are from the 2020, 2021 and 2022 conventions respectively. The final part is from a morning worship talk.
