Yea, everyone can guess that. But HOW did ipod came to be, what happened during that time, how did it reach many people (more than portability reasons), its effect on the music industry (more than people listen to music on the go).
Some people like a detailed story. You get to learn little nuggets of information. I'm some people. We can infer how it rose and fell, but we're also interested in the backstory.
Heh... many of us still played music on cassette tapes, and had to tediously fast forward to specific songs, and manually rewind them to hear them again!
@@zxKAOS1 😂 I had the CD struggle, but I was about to say "at least we didn't have to deal with cassettes!" 🤣🤣🤣 I feel like when a CD in its case broke in my school bag, that has to be the cassette tape equivalent to the tape coming out and getting tangled or broken 🤣
It’s so weird having grown up in the early 2000s because I never watched the ads, never saw the interviews or shows, never knew about the early history. But at the same time, I still remember iPod was a big thing. I just never knew a lot of the background.
Battery. My Ipod Classic lasted 6 years. I wanted to be able to access it's hard drive for my library on PC didn't maintain properly now missing parts, but they made that impossible. When a PC or Android goes bad, you can recover your data.
My 80GB iPod classic from 2007 is still brand new. No scratches or dents or anything. The screen colors and layout seem dated now though compared to smartphones but I still use it to play some music.
I am very "old-fashioned" 29-year-old and I still can not give up on using my silver iPod nano. I like having my music and phone separate, personally, it gives me a kind of freedom from all the calls and messages bombarding though various social media. Yes, I know you can manipulate the settings so that the notifications can work in my favour, still I love my iPod even though it is slowly dying. The battery is very weak. Its like the perfect escape). Also this is my first and only iPod ever, I got it as a present for good grades in 2007 and I was just the happiest kid ever. I did not have many gadgets growing up so each new one was a big deal, so I can not just be like "bye, bye". In sickness and in health, until death do us part, I will not stop using my iPod 😂
I found my old iPod Nano 3rd generation the other day. Found the charger and it still had all my songs on it 😭 I've started to use it again and have put my latest songs on there 😊
I still have a working iPod, even though I don't use it as much - still have loads of podcasts on it! The main problem with listening to music on your phone is interruptions from notification sounds
I personally like the iPod and prefer keeping my music on a separate device. It also helps when working out if I drop it (with a cover) I don't risk damaging it and having to replace my entire primary means of communication (I.e. phone). Just my 2¢. Long live the iPod.
They didn't put clocks into phones for that reason lol, it was always so much more convenient to use a watch. But if you want to lie to yourself like that go ahead
I actually prefer having a separate device for music focus. I have an iPod touch from 2018 and I love it. I use it for the gym or just in the car and not really for internet browsing or video watching but always there if I need it. I never really wanted an iPhone so I have an android and I like not using my phone for tons of storage.
@@candellina6 no they are backwards compatible making them impossible for your brain to understand that you can use 2 different devices with different biomechanics
“How did the iPod go from being one of the most popular gadgets to being basically nonexistent?” Um, this isn’t a big mystery LOL. It became redundant, its functionality absorbed into the smartphone. It’s like saying “long ago, we used to have landline telephones in every home. What happened? Why did they go away?”
Absolutely! It was how I got both music and games on the computer :) I remember in my senior year of high school, they gave us laptops to use. However, the wifi connection at school was terrible (except in my art class...so I naturally hung out there a lot, lol). We had ethernet cords though and while the full internet was supposed to be blocked from us (it was supposed to be for class assignments only but the teachers found the programs hard to use, especially without wifi), someone found a way to get to Google from the school's library page and from there, everyone downloaded Firefox (Chrome hadn't emerged yet and nobody wanted IE). Once that task was done, the internet was ours and Frostwire was added to all of our laptops. I remember downloading Zelda and the Minish Cap but never got a chance to beat it :)
Itunes was a pain in the ass. It was a torture i've cried trying to organize my albums right image for right music folder. It was NOT public friendly at all.
I dont care what others says; I absolutely loved my itouch shuffle; it works perfectly from day one. Build in battery is amazingly still holds the charge.
Still remember when I went to Walmart and bought a Creative mp3 player my mind was blown and it olny had 250mb. I didn't have a computer so I had to record music I wanted from a speaker. Later on my friend downloaded some music off limewire and the quality blew me away. Miss the old days
I still have a Creative stored away! Loved the frequently played feature which was more like a weekly music chart than iTunes' cumulative plays. The issue with Creative was that you really could not walk around with it without the music skipping.
I actually still use the iPod Classic. I special ordered one because I like to use them on long nature hikes. I needed something with a long battery life and storage capacity that doesn't connect to the Internet so I can listen to long audiobooks and huge music libraries while in the middle of nowhere. Plus, those old iPods Classics can take a beating! I've dropped mine on rocks, concrete, and even in a river and it still works great! No screen cracks either. Even though it's a pain to download new songs and movies onto it now, I still prefer the Classic because of what I need it for
@@calebniederhofer6529 I specifically ordered it because I don't want it on my phone. I have limited space on it, the iPod has better battery life, I don't have to store anything in the Cloud, and it doesn't require the Internet to access my stuff because it's all on the hard drive. Plus it's perfect for all the reasons I've already listed. I like having a separate device for my music and audiobooks
I still like the idea of having an iPod. It's like when you're touching it, you know you'll only have a good time with no interruptions, only good music. You know that whatever happens, your iPod will only breathe your favorite music. It's so pure, it's like an escape. A work and social media break. And I don't mind having to download; even with streaming service, I listen to the same set of songs over and over 90% of the time anyway lol. It's not like everyday you listen to a new, never-before-heard track.
Kabayan! Tama ka. You are correct. I still have my 2007 iPod Classic and it is practically brand new. I play it sometimes-mostly music you cannot find on Spotify or iTunes. I have some CDs I still want to download or import into my iPod-even though the same songs can be streamed. Why would I pay for the streaming when I can import them and listen even w/o internet?
Even today, separate from my smartphone, I still use my iPod touch 2nd generation for listening to music although it's a little old, from 2008. I think if it's just for listening to music, the iPod is allot more easier to use as far as navigating through your collection of music. Then again, more people rather than buying songs or albums would prefer to instead pay for a subscription to Pandora or Spotify or something like that to stream any song at anytime.
Honestly, I've replaced the battery in my two shuffles and still use it at the gym. There is however a Chinese mp3 player with built-in FM that I now like more because it tunes into those TVs in the gym as well as playing music.
Amen to that. Bring back iPod classic 256 gb, 512, 1to with wifi / cellular version , Bluetooth (for portable speaker and headphones) and a good jack :) Nowadays we don't take the time to listen to music. If eReader exist when people have tablets, why not bring back a specialty device ?
The first IPod I had was the original iPod Shuffle, the 512 MB version. My parents only had Windows 98 (in 2005 I might add), so we gave my IPod to my cousin & her husband because they had ITunes on his Mac. My mom made me write down some classical songs because she didn't want me "polluting my brain." I had eight songs on it, & three of them were not what I had wanted.
I got a classic iPod to keep in the car. Just knowing that I still have my music if I leave my phone of cancel my streaming is relaxing. Forgot your (car) charger? Is music worth having a dead phone?
Yes you can. They're still sold on Amazon for around $300. It's the battery that goes bad. Don't do what I did. Try to take it apart ripping the connector off the circuit board thinking I was going to replace the battery for you can buy that too online. I guess it could be repaired by a Bad Apple sort of phone repair shop who knows how to work on such tricky little delicate hardware.
You can easily replace the parts with custom new ones. Hell, you con mod it even and add more storage with an SD card as well as making it faster with an SSD.
@@NeedyForMusic Easily? I popped my Ipod classic open ripping the connector from the motherboard where it needs re soldering by a guy or gal who knows how to work on it and has the work desk and tools to do it. I can't do myself after trying. I don't have soldering nor have good enough vision to do it. Yes, a new battery could be purchased and put in which is what's wrong beside me ripping the weak connector off the tiny motherboard which is the one in the bottom right of the Ipod. The other one on the mid right side is tricky to get back in and be held in place for it's not a good design where it's like trying to get a tiny piece of paper to sit in a groove properly with nothing to secure it. Well I broke the one small connector on the bottom trying to get the paper thin thing back in the groove and stay put which it wouldn't.
I'd still love a huge memory and battery capacity device to accommodate my podcast and music library. In very niche scenarios it's still extremely nice to have, aux cords are still available, I love the iPods
When the iPod touch was brand new, I somehow got someone to trade me an Zune with a big hard drive for a brand new iPod touch. I have no idea why the other person went with that
Reasons why (in my opinion) digital music players are still valid, relevant or necessary in the 2020 tech market: - No local distractions when you're listening to music (phone calls, notifications, redundant apps, etc.). - Longer battery life: For example, due to a more energy-efficient display (mainly due to a lower resolution and size) and less power consuming tasks for the CPU. - The possibility of a compact and durable product design which doesn't have to adhere to smartphone design trends. - Much more product design flexibility. - Much less peer pressure on companies to remove the headphone jack, since it's a normal feature for music-listening enthusiasts and a must for audiophiles. - Since it's a dedicated device, there's more focus on developing and manufacturing a system which creates higher-quality audio output. - Lower pricing because it's a simpler product. - Storage sizes for everyone's budget and needs, both with and without a microSD card (which can also add plenty of storage): 16, 32, 64, 128+ Gb. These products are obviously not aimed at people who're OK with paying a monthly fee in order to listen to music via an ad-free streaming service, which they don't own, but people who take the time to build an actual music library that is theirs to store and play.
You know, it's funny. I have a massive music library via CDs and digital copies purchased on various websites, including iTunes; And I'm actually okay with paying 10 bucks a month for Spotify. The reason for that is because I treat Spotify the way other people treat satellite radio. It's internet radio to me. Being able to listen to music a la carte is the icing on the cake.
@@rayoflight62 I don't know the size of your budget, but maybe you could save up for a decent player that has longer-lasting performance. Sony Walkman portable music players have been around for years and they've always seemed decent to me, I think Sony is a reputable and nice company when it comes to product design. The Sony Walkman NW-E394 costs $74.99 on their website, for example, and they claim it offers up to 35 hours of use. You can also get a rechargeable AAA battery for your music player, in case you haven't done that.
@@esmooth919 Sorry, let me correct myself: My point was that portable music players today aren't aimed at people looking for what a streaming service offers; smartphones are the ones with apps for that. In other words, these devices (portable music players) normally work with local music libraries, which is something you've built, and that's good. Thumbs up from me. I've used both alternatives as well and they both have their own qualities or advantages. I think it's amazing how much music one can listen to on-demand, and discover, with services such as Spotify. But the disadvantage is that the user ends up being subject to the company or service provider's interests (e.g. community guidelines, caving into cancel culture tactics, etc.) as well as their own management. The moment you stop paying the subscription fee, you also lose the privilege to listen to the music library you have built with their selection, but with a dedicated device storing a personal music library locally that doesn't happen because it's not so much a privilege : You supposedly own your music. Apple Music (iTunes) doesn't actually sell music in a way that grants absolute ownership to people: They merely grant something like a lifetime, non-transferable license to listen to it, as far as I'm concerned (correct me if I'm wrong). Someone can download the files but the availability to re-download them is subject to Apple's interests and limitations.
I still use Spotify Premium, but my recently acquired iPod Classics have changed the way I listen to music, or specifically, my albums. No more constant switching from albums to random music tracks, which means I’m finally able to fully listen to albums again. No interruptions because of notifications, which feels like I’m getting inside a part of my own world. It’s also amazing how good it feels to have control over your own music, instead of having to rely on streaming services.
It’s like this. Vinyl killed/< 8-Track Cassette Tape Killed Vinyl, CD killed Cassette Tape iPod/MP3 killed CD and Streaming killed iPod/MP3. So there was no rise and fall of the iPod it went out on top it was simply the transitioning and evolution of the times. What would be considered a “Fall” would be if iPod/MP3 were still the relevant way of listening to music and an competing company came out with their own version of the iPhone or a MP3 Device and it dominated the iPod in sales THEN you can say it’s a rise and fall of the iPod. NOT if it’s a transitions of the times. So this video is kinda click baity or maybe they should just change the title to “The Rise and Fall of the MP3 era”.
Renso Daniel Del Castillo Vega thats because it’s retro and very foreign to this generation so therefore that statement is irrelevant to the subject at hand.

I remember 15 years ago every other person at the gym worked out with an iPod. Now I never see them. Everyone uses their Apple or Android phone for music. But as someone else said, you could say the iPod never really died… it just became integrated with iPhone… Early iPhones used to have the built-in “iPod” app, before becoming the ‘Music’ app.
Well cell phones literally have embedded an ipod within in because of their music capabilities. Also streaming service makes ipod obsolete because you dont need to "download" all the songs anymore.
I remember back in 2005 when I was 8 and my mom won an iPod on the radio and gave it to me because she couldn’t understand how it worked. And I’ve been in the ecosystem since then
“for people who still like owning music” For me this has got to be one of the biggest “take aways” from this video. the point is to own music. Not, to be tied to a subscription service that allows you to do all kinds of cool stuff until you stop paying your bill. this thought process may show my age but everybody experiences lean times and the music streaming service may not be a high priority. its my opinion that a consumer should purchase the music and once he owns it he/she should be able to do what ever they want to do with it. Artist write the music and the record labels pay them handsomely for it. the labels sell the music and make a ton of cash. the consumer gets art. I don’t believe it should be a never ending value stream. Thank God this is not true for Famous artists work Picasso, Van Gogh, da Vinci, Monet etc. could you imagine! whether you could afford the original or you bought a print. To have to pay a subscription each month to keep it on your wall! CRAZY. Owning music means the artist sold his work, you bought it and can now do what you will with it
I still have my ipod nano 7th gen and I still actively add music too it. I rarely ever stream music through Spotify or other streaming platforms. People say I need to get with the times, but I'm always the last one laughing when their phone dies or there's no internet 😂
When I upgrade to a new smartphone, I've been keeping the old one to transfer my music too. I delete all the non vital apps, put it in airplane mode and make it all about music. Spotify, TH-cam, and such are nice for music but, sometimes you want certain songs in just one or two clicks and this makes it nice.
I have a couple old smart phones I use only for music. When the battery runs down in one, I got another to use. This preserves my telephone to have battery all day.
Had a little red ipod nano for ten years, used it nearly Every. Single. Day,... at the gym, in my car, doing chores, so many times it had been soaked in the rain, frozen in ice, yet kept on ticking ... The day it died I gave it a tearful salute, ...Never ever expected it to last as long as it did. Great product for it's brief moment in time.
I still use my iPod touch bought 7 years ago... Not a big fan of iPhone, but am happy to use the ipod touch as a dedicated music player because of the sound quality, including Apple music, which is one of the best quality streaming services out there
That iTunes for windows slideshow was hilarious though. I honestly thought, back in 2009, I’d still be buying the newest iPod today. But now, we’ve got our smartphones instead. Kinda crazy how this all progressed.
i keep an ipod still to this day in the car, doesn't seem to care about summer and winter temperatures in there. as for the battery? like 7 min off the charger, but that doesn't matter since it's always plugged in.
Omar T having all my music on an iPod in the car is way more convenient. Also when I run I prefer to have an iPod since it’s smaller and lighter in my pocket
Yep, they're still $300 like 10 years ago. Mine went bad last year and I was mistaken to think I could pick another up for $50 just because it's an old outdated device. I guess it's the Apple brand and prestigious monopoly it holds. It wasn't ever completely compatible with PC to manage music library and the device. My library is a mess with music missing...
My 80GB iPod Classic from 2007 still works and is practically brand new. No dents or scratches. I hold on to it because I loaded it with some audio programs I could not buy or afford on iTunes. I hope I will keep it and never have to dump it. Until I get it upgraded to say 160GB or 1TB and replace the battery with something longer lasting.
the certain details over here about the journey of the iPod made me nostalgic. I remember I was reading about Jon Rubinstein's discovery in a newspaper and I was so surprised and wished to own such a device in this lifetime. it was written that it would definitely make a huge impact on the advancement of technology in the future. I started to think about it, wonder whether i would be able to be part of that change. hahaha.. the first time I owned an iPod, probably in the year 2005/2006. i was showing it off to my friends .. gosh.. i am so fortunate to be part of that history..
I honestly loved my iPod classic and still have it! I still use my iPod touch all the time too; I have a massive library and really don't want to clog of my phone with thousands of songs! It honk it's good for people who want to be organized but need ALOT of storage space. I hope it doesn't get discontinued anytime soon
Ok, I actually miss BOTH the IPod Nanos I had. I had a red 2nd gen and a purple 5th gen (both were eventually stolen while at school 😭😡) but now I really want one again because it would be nice to be able to take my music places and be able to leave my phone so I can properly detach myself from the world for a bit. Also, I can't stand it when certain apps don't allow music to play 😒😤
Don't be sad to use an mp3 player or DAT. It only tells me about you that you are a music lover. 🙂 I still use my zunes and buy mp3 songs. I actually bought like 10 mp3 songs this week. I prefer use my zunes over spotify and other streaming services. Actually, there is renaissance of mp3 players in these last years. 🙂
I own exactly one Apple product, and that is a 5th gen apple nano. I keep it in the car so I can listen to the songs I like without sacrificing my Android phone's battery and privacy. It's easier to use while driving (a simple shake and you're on shuffle) than a cell phone, the battery lasts forever, and there's no problems with internet dead-zones while driving through the back roads (I live in NC)! When my iPod eventually dies, I'll buy another one on ebay, and if they're no longer available, I'll find the closest Android option that I can. Streaming services have WAY too many security issues and aren't easily usable on the road.
I remember when iPod Minis were the cool thing and then I got my own iPod Nano. Those iPod commercials were iconic too. At the time, iTunes was really convenient because you could purchase songs separately. Until then, if there were a couple songs I liked on an album I had to buy the whole CD. With iTunes, you got more freedom to select your music and only purchase specific songs. Also, the smart phone era was kicked off by the iPhone. Apple has clearly made its impact.
Still use my IPod Nano 4th gen because of the terrible phone signal where I live. Got it brand new and recently had it refurbished with a new battery. Works just as well as the day I got it.
I literally still use my 7th generation iPod nano because I do not want songs to take up space on my phone, nor do I want to use streaming services and have to rely on internet to use them or have to pay for premium services. Before I took said iPod that was collecting dust, I used my PlayStation Portable as an MP3 player, it had this neat "A-B" repeat function which basically meant that you could loop a specific part of a song; like go from point "A" to point "B", really made listening to that specific 15-second part of a song over and over again really easy since I didn't always have to rewind it myself whenever it ended.

I’m actually using the iPod touch seventh generation right now. It’s super smooth, easy to use and cheaper then a phone. The only downside is you can only message and FaceTime other apple users.
my first iPod was the iPod Nano 3rd Gen. I remembered receiving one as a birthday gift when that first came out, and enjoyed storing my own songs into the device at a young age. Then by 2010, got the iPod Touch Retina display , where it first introduced me to iOS. Still remembered everybody from middle school sharing how jailbreaking was simple on the older ipod touch devices. Good times

Kids today will never know the struggle of carrying a CD player and multiple CDs for that bus ride home from school
Heh... many of us still played music on cassette tapes, and had to tediously fast forward to specific songs, and manually rewind them to hear them again!

I feel like when a CD in its case broke in my school bag, that has to be the cassette tape equivalent to the tape coming out and getting tangled or broken 🤣
But did you have anti skip? I remember my first one. I also remember hitting my siblings to make it skip while she listened.
this is a video about the product that killed cd players not about cd players themselves
It’s so weird having grown up in the early 2000s because I never watched the ads, never saw the interviews or shows, never knew about the early history. But at the same time, I still remember iPod was a big thing. I just never knew a lot of the background.

Yggdrasil Tree Of Life Same here! My iPod classic is almost 12 years old now and I still use it everyday. It's one of my most cherished possessions. 🥺
Me too.

I always carry an iPod Nano in my bag, so in case my phone's battery dies, or if there's no signal, I still have music for the go.
Itunes was a pain in the ass. It was a torture i've cried trying to organize my albums right image for right music folder. It was NOT public friendly at all.
I just recently fixed and updated my old iPod. It’s been broken for years, but it now works with an SD card inside of it. I love tinkering.
Ralph 187 Yaas! Limewire!! R.I.P. Limewire 😢
Creative was legit
Even though it's a pain to download new songs and movies onto it now, I still prefer the Classic because of what I need it for
You could do the same thing with a phone though lol.
@@calebniederhofer6529 I specifically ordered it because I don't want it on my phone. Plus it's perfect for all the reasons I've already listed. I like having a separate device for my music and audiobooks
I still like the idea of having an iPod. It's like when you're touching it, you know you'll only have a good time with no interruptions, only good music.

Yes you can. They're still sold on Amazon for around $300. It's the battery that goes bad. Don't do what I did.

I can't do myself after trying. I don't have soldering nor have good enough vision to do it. Yes, a new battery could be purchased and put in which is what's wrong beside me ripping the weak connector off the tiny motherboard which is the one in the bottom right of the Ipod. The other one on the mid right side is tricky to get back in and be held in place for it's not a good design where it's like trying to get a tiny piece of paper to sit in a groove properly with nothing to secure it. Reasons why (in my opinion) digital music players are still valid, relevant or necessary in the 2020 tech market:
- No local distractions when you're listening to music (phone calls, notifications, redundant apps, etc.).
My MP3 player uses one AAA battery, which lasts five hours...
You know, last year vinyl sold more than CDs

I have my old iPod shuffle, and it still works great. As well as my newer iPod nano. I still use both of them regularly.
Well cell phones literally have embedded an ipod within in because of their music capabilities. Also streaming service makes ipod obsolete because you dont need to "download" all the songs anymore.

Jack Liu Yeah but most streaming services allow you to download their music
With streaming, you don't own your songs. I prefer buy and download music.

That’s a good idea. I might do that with my previous smartphone.
I have a couple old smart phones I use only for music. When the battery runs down in one, I got another to use. This preserves my telephone to have battery all day.

The iPod was a legacy of its own
the certain details over here about the journey of the iPod made me nostalgic.
The iPod and the iPhone will be some of my all time favorite devices

Look at this privileged 1st world kid still finding reasons to complain
Honestly I still love the ipod. I use one more than my phone (for my music).
I remember that i used to watch movies & series on my 2,5 inch Ipod Classic 😂
2:50 Did the narrator say “Li-berry?” 😂
Darren Smith I definitely caught it and was here in my room talking hella shit lol.... we gotta do better. #stayinschoolkids
CharizardRed13 So you’re one of those huh, you’ve never mispronounced a word? 🤔
Still use my IPod Nano 4th gen because of the terrible phone signal where I live. Got it brand new and recently had it refurbished with a new battery. Works just as well as the day I got it.
5:38 OMG what a blast from the PAST. I REMEMBER THIS SONG AND VIDEO CLIP WAS ON EVERY DVD BEFORE THE MOVIE STARTED. Wow… unlocked a new memory
This video could've been answered in 2 words in 3 seconds, "The Smartphone"
Thank me later.
Exactly, at the moment bitcoin is the best and
profitable coin to buy and invest in.
Crypto trading is very profitable when you trade
well.
How does this whole bitcoin thing works, I'm
interested in it and willing and ready to invest
heavily but I need an assistant to properly guide
me through on how to make a good startup and
be successful in it without making mistakes.
Just bought $10k Ethereum and $30k bitcoin
with the recent dump in crypto I was told it's the
right time to buy and get ready for a skyrocket.
Wow! Impressive you trade with Stacy Griffin Kartner too! I thought people don't know her
that we... She's really awesome!
You don't have to be surprise because l'm also
a huge beneficiary of Expert, I keep on earning
$15,000 every single week with her trading
platform.
I have flashbacks of these pre 2010 edits of anime characters with ipod and earphones on cable with caption "iKill", "iNinja", "iJutsu", "iShinighami" etc
my first iPhone was a 5c .. only having 8gb, i continued to carry around my 7th gen ipod nano for music and video
i also had a 6th gen ipod nano as my watch from 2010-2015
when i got my 6s with 128gb, i no longer needed the ipod and by this point i had replaced my ‘iwatch’ with an actual apple watch; also holding 8gb itself - arguably the perfect ipod replacement
now, i have a xs, 256gb - it holds everything
and i jumped from a gen 1 apple watch to a gen 5 - 32gb of storage
my watch now has 4x the amount of storage my first iphone did .. crazy
about 9 months ago i passed my test and began driving everywhere, no longer walking around with headphones on so much i missed listening to my music as much as i did
however, i found a use for the 7th gen ipod - it had been dead in a drawer for years
i powered it up, synced my latest library since i still buy and download my music
and it sits permanently in my car, plugged in as my media player
my ipod days aren’t over yet ✌️ 💛
iPod touch is officially discontinued.
I wanted these so bad when I was a kid! And I still do, even if they're now considered "extinct".
I still love using my 2nd gen IPod Shuffle whenever i feel nostalgic.
Good times
still going strong with my 160gb classic lol
