Nice race, fun to see it from another viewpoint. Grats on another win. I was the Dutch guy breaking away the first 5min, but it was never meant to hold, I just wanted to see how a higher 5min w/kg would impact my ZRS (as 5min is part of the formula). So I went for a 5min max effort. Unfortunately ZRS just went 8p up so not as big as I expected. Very glad with the 4th place and closing some attacks though after I emptied the tank first 5min 😂

Hei! Now you saw the tactics then, hehe. Cool to see that people from the race also watch the video. Btw, that was a good effort at the start, at first i didnt see it was you who wrote at the start line about the experiment. Good legs to be so close on the final sprint after using so much energy! You could have beated us on the sprint on fresh legs and then maybe you would get more points?

@@LofotenCycling Yes I watched a couple of your earlier video's so I recognized your name. Haha, perhaps could have won. But started the sprint a bit too late, though my 15-60sec watts weren't that bad. Ofc you felt your previous race/win as well in the legs.
I won this race before and got about 12 points. So I just wanted to compare those points to a new 5min personal best. So indeed now I learned a win gets you some more points than a 0.3 w/kg 5min increase (and 3rd on ZP). Also compared my score on zwiftracing app, which also uses 5min value in their formula. Over there it actually did work, as my score went from about 1860 to 2020.

@ Wow congrats on your new 5min PR 💪 For Zwift, 5-8min power helps a lot when the hillier stages will come.
That last metric Zwift app i never heard about, i will have to check hehe 😃

Great job! Glad to see the video 👍👍. Like you, I did two of these in a row. I did one cat higher in the first one and had to avg 3.8wkg for the race to stay with the group hahaha and then I died at the end. The second race felt harder at 3.6wkg cuz of the fatigue. Forgot to record the first one 🤦 but I got the second one and that video should be up within the next 12 hours or so. I didnt place as well as you did though 😅. You're strong 💪

@@jameskim3 James, good to hear others are as crazy as me 🤣 and about results, if you watch my first video, i wasnt getting even top 20. it’s all a work in progress and soon you’ll be racing with higher cat for podiums. Looking forwards to your video 🙌 Stay strong

I race at a different time but the 7 am EST Advanced race this morning was 50+ people. We'll see how these Range 1, 2, & Advanced pens work as we get further and if the population stays high enough in each pen. So far I like it.
For this month with the routes being flat, I'll keep doing Advanced because it has been good population and good competition. When it gets hillier, I'll probably be racing Range 2 again because I don't have the w/kg to stay with the 700+ boys in the hills. We'll see if my score will still let me race Range 2 when we get to February. I'm 670 now but doing better than I expected in Advanced because of the flat routes.
No matter what category though, the final 1 km of this route is rough 😅 Great patience and timing on your sprint!

@@E.M.B.R As always great comment which I agree 100%
I hear the Advanced groups are having more ppl than the «old» A. Which is so good to see. Hopefully it will remain populated when it gets hillier (already on this race you notice the difference from Tempus Fugit) 😅
After monday i wont be on Range 1 since i passed 650 points with this race, so I’ll be between range 2 and Adv. ☺️
