Excellence Punta Cana is about a 3 max. Probably the least favorite Excellence Ive been to. Mexico was much better. Im interested in Oyster Bay though. If you ever go back to Punta Cana, go with Hyatt Ziva/Zilara. 5 out of 5

Stay away from this resort! We came here July 4th week for 4 nights. We had an incident and security was called. This place has no working cameras!!! This resort is not safe. Found mold in the bread at the breakfast buffet. We got sick on the second night. Their service is extremely slow! Place was not even clean. Good luck finding a towel, they never refill the towels in the beach, pool and gym!
I am here now and arrived on July 3rd; meaning I would have been at the resort the same time as you. I find it hard to believe that you would lodge these allegations against a resort with such hardworking and accommodating staff. I can’t vouch for whatever personal incident you are referring to, however I can absolutely and assuredly state that there is nothing unsafe about this resort. It is a gated and locked property; no outside visitors are granted access. You must be a registered guest to even drive on the premises. The rooms are cleaned daily and more often if necessary, upon request. The food in all of the restaurants is top tier, fresh, and well presented. This comment has grossly misrepresented this resort and the wonderful hardworking staff from bartenders, servers, housekeeping, and beyond. I am here enjoying a violinist play music on the terrace in front of the ocean, as I type this. The patrons are diverse and friendly. The atmosphere has been nothing short of amazing for the whole week I’ve been here and I am already planning to return with family and friends. Please don’t use one potentially isolated incident to smear the reputation of the resort. The staff is attentive; going above and beyond to meet the needs of all guests. I recommend this location to anyone interested traveling to Jamaica.
My wife and I tell everyone about our experience at this place. We both are surprised that it’s still up and running. It was just that bad. And we used a travel agency to book our flight and trip here. They got an earful when we got back. 😮

The hotel is actually 1hr from Ochi Rios and 30mins from the airport in Montego Bay

Thinking about going in April 2024. Just came back from the Excellence El Carmen in Punta Cana was 3.5 out of 5. The Excellence in Cancun was a 5.
