My wife’s and I first time in Jamaica and we stayed at Riu Palace Aquarelle on 5/20 through 5/24 and we enjoyed our stay. It was BEAUTIFUL and the staff was very nice and welcoming. The food was amazing and the entertainment was A+ every night! I’m looking to go back asap.

I watched a few of these tour videos of the property and I must say this is the most thorough and relaxing one so far, good job sir! I'm going in July and I can't wait!
Glad it was helpful! Theres definatly seeweed on this section of the beach, but there was a clear portion when we were there. Water shoes is an option. You get a beautiful clean beach just a short walk away like I said in the video.
I just came back from Riu Ocho Rio was first time for me and my family it was pretty nice place. Now that I have seen your video for this new place it might be our next vacation spot 😊. Thanks
Princess hotel and resorts is opening their first restort in jamaica next month, you should be the first person to review, it will be the lagrest resort in the caribbean with over 2000 room, its so big they have only completed first phase, which will open next month, next phase will be another 1025 rooms.
Definatly going to be huge! Unfortunatly, we just came back from Jamaica (we're not locals) and vacation days and money are not unlimited. I wish! 😄 And I doubt Princess will fly us in! 🤣 But thanks for the comment, I'll take that as you like the video!
They haven’t opened and we booked it for August. Our travel company has cancelled our hotel and booked into this hotel instead hence why I am watching this review. I think it’s going to be ready until later this year.
Thankyou really great & informative video. Really balanced view. If your family can save enough this year. Please review Princess Grand Jamaica. I'm hoping to travel January 2025 would like a balanced comparison.
I’m not gonna lie the toilet not flushing and drainage issue in the shower turned me off… for brand new hotel… that’s a no no… other than that the vlog was amazing!
We are going in 2 weeks...do you know if they offer services to do a private vow renewal on the beach? We are also looking to jet ski, horeseback ride on the beach and ATV ride. Do you know if these services are available? Thanks in advance!
@@nickyrichardson5197 I can't confirm 100%, but I think there was a wedding room next to the doctors office. Best thing would be to contact them in advance to be sure. As for the rest, I didn't saw those on site but there are probably excursions you can book. There was a guy with horses on the public beach (outside the hotel section to the right), but not sure if he was offering rides. I just raced him and his horse running! 😁
Hi u mentioned sea urchins are there a lot ? , was about to book then read in a review there are hundreds and it’s extremely rocky . Would u say there is a nice bit to swim outside of hotel ? I don’t fancy walking down the beach every day I fancy a dip also do u think it’s good for small children age 4 and 5 my kids love the sea and would ruin the holiday for us if the sea is not accessible. Thanks
@@jayjayp9618 the sea urchins I saw were close to the swim area limit. The bottom of the sea was more sea weed than rocks. If you look at the aerial footage, you will see the difference between the sandy area and the sea weed. Water shoes can help. That being said, situation may have evolve since we were there. We spent most of our water time at the pools because of the lack of shade at the beach but I know they added some parasol since. The best section of the beach is outside the hotel area. Again look at the aerial footage, you will an amazing section of beach just past the hotel next to the Riu.

I like the concept and layout, which I trust takes advantage of the sunlight (solar-power supplement), wind (wind power) to name a few infrastructure items .. . On a personal note, being a stroke-survivor & retired senior, I trust accessibility is a consideration .. ?
beautiful location, beautiful structure, but the beach was bad, hard & sharp rocks almost anywhere you step (swim shoes are a must here). Only a small patch to the east of the resort has a sandy base. Visited October 2024.
@@y_e_i8213 everything we took was pretty good. It was really hot during daytime so we were drinking lots of the slushy drinks, but regular drinks seemed nicelly balanced.
Hello, I have a question for you. This is our first time in Jamaica and we are also going to RIU Aquarelle. On the other hand, I don't know the tips policy in Jamaica. Should you give tips to the restaurant? In US dollars or in Jamaican dollars? And approximately how much? THANKS :)
We went 2 times in Jamaica, and we gave tips in US dollars. There was other people tipping in Jamaican dollars as well, but the US dollars are widely used and probably easier to calculate as the Jamaican dollar so devalued. The store on site is even priced in US dollars. The amount depends on your budget and if you are happy with the service.
I'm Jamaican, and lives in Canada . When I go to the resort in JA, I tip $2-3 US dollars every meal - so less than $10 USD per day. I also leave $20 in the room for the housekeeper the last day when I check out .The workers work so hard and very appreciative 🙏🏾
I don’t feel like you should have to tip if you are paying a high price to go there. If I find someone stands out throughout the week I am there I will give a large tip on my last day. I also feel people should tip their maid if they do a good job and also the gardeners. No one looks after them. If a bar tender is deliberately not serving you fast because you didn’t tip them I won’t tip them.
