    Hi! I recently came across your channel, and I feel like I’ve found some hidden gem in the college admissions process!! I’m currently a high school junior who plans on applying to some of those “big name” schools, but I am a little nervous about whether or not that will be successful.
    I have a question about how to write my college essay. I grew up in a pretty good and happy family, I was born in the US, and did not have much of a difficult childhood. I’ve seen a lot of videos where students talked about challenges they overcame regarding language barriers or poverty, but I really haven’t had any of those challenges. I’m sure that there may be some things that I am not thinking of, but as you can see, I have no obvious answer. In high school I was also not super involved... I am a part of clubs such a Science Olympiad, an Environmental club, and I play a few instruments, but I don’t have a leadership role in any of those, and I don’t feel as though they are particularly special or make me stand out. Do you have any tips on how I should go about writing my essay? And what I should do if I really don’t have much to talk about? I want to have the best chance possible to get into my dream college! Thanks for your help!

    Hello Jacqueline (sorry for not getting your name initially, got it after opening up the description section of the video again),
    This was an excellent video from my point of view at least! Sorry felt sentimental - the topic of extentuating circumstances and the example you gave of an orphan is something which resonated with me greatly. (In case it helps as background, my past few years got taken up while living in hospital, being on the streets and being in care system for depression).
    I worked mostly for doing magic tricks to to try help me rebuild my life so to speak and felt like a metaphorical orphan so to speak. I'm grateful that your friend in the admissions office gave a chance to someone who's one of us so to speak. Sorry if this comes across as dodgy or anything like that but I mean well. It's sensitive subject.
    Thank you again Jacqueline,
    Raza =)

      @@athenaadmits Thank you Jackie! I appreciated you putting those alumni interview/college admissions advice related videos out there! I get the impression that you have a meaningful bit of credibility from my point of view at least and you've also made a good impression on me as someone who seems good hearted. Raza =)
