    Interesting idea for adding an additional cooler, I'm glad to see your thinking about the airflow out the cooler. From my experience in motorsport having ducting to take hot air from the cooler/radiator is extremely important in increasing efficiency

    Great update, I don't comment much, heat management and good airflow have been something I've been interested in for a long time, your probably already aware but Julian Edgar has some great videos along with a book about this subject, I purchased his book a while back, and with a few basic gauges purchased on Ebay , Magnahelic gauges, pitot tubes etc can give you some good info on what is working with the mods.
    Keep the updates coming 👍

    Nice man! You won’t be disappointed, I don’t have any air flow going through mine and it’s enough to keep temps at bay :), after 15 mins race in the summer we’ve just had my water temps wouldn’t get any higher than 93, oil temps 105, on a winters track day, I have to block half of my radiator off as it just doesn’t get hot enough to be able to drive, eg water temps struggle to get above 70, oil 85-90.. really hope this cures your issue, I know it definitely did for mine 🤙 Also! Thanks for the mention ;) Appreciate that

    I like stuff like this, how about a suction fan on the back of the turbo cooler along with your air feed.
    I've seen a few cars with coolers that have the venting in the arches and over time they do build up with road grime and stones, and that's even with angled ribs to stop anything going through the coolers

    I would run some tape over any sharp bits or edges on the crash bar you trimmed. I've found my air filter to be missing small bits on the edge where it's rested on a not rough but not soft surface when driving over a period of time, to the point I question its filtering efficiency.

    Im planning on going up to stage 3 at some point, and I've always wondered about full height intercoolers blocking airflow to the engine bay.
    Would you recommend the laird mid height cooler, so as to allow more air into the bay.

    • @Sparkplugsteve
      @Sparkplugsteve  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends what your planning on using the car for really. If its road use then the bigger coolers are not an issue and better intake temps I'd favour over cooling concerns as on the road you won't do more than a few hard pulls without having to slow down and the cars copes easily. It's track use where the coolant is an issue but as for lairds cooler iv never tried it so can't comment really

    • @Sparkplugsteve

    I know it’s your daily as well as a track car but wouldn’t you be better off putting several hole saw holes under both headlights? I think the car needs to be one or other now daily or track just my opinion

    • @Sparkplugsteve
      @Sparkplugsteve  ปีที่แล้ว

      It never has been a daily this one. Im a bit nerdy with airflow research and cutting holes is never a good idea. If you look at race cars they often have smaller frontal air zones than the road car version. There's enough mouth for airflow on the bumper as it stands you just have to use that air efficiently. Holes create drag and you want the least amount of holes possible.😁

    • @markward8691
      @markward8691 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sparkplugsteve surely an increase in direct air flow you would get to the air filter and turbo cooler must benefit the car over a tad of drag.

    • @Sparkplugsteve
      @Sparkplugsteve  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really as the airflow to the air filter is more than enough. Iv done a video on that before. The turbo cooler will get air from the front opening in the grill so everything will get what it needs without adding any extra holes. Plus I dont like bumpers with drilled holes to be honest.
