Plenty of opportunity to make it look better. Some curves would help. Some blotch control on that pine would be nice. An actual top coat on that stain. Everything 3/4" thick looks blocky.
Hello Ronnie! Great videos and even better ideas! I will be doing several of your ideas and can't wait to see if they sell online. Most of the wood I have in my shop (garage) is free/ scrap wood from pallets, fences, you name it. I have been VERY lucky over the past few months to be able to get some really good power tools either for a reasonable price or for free (my Radial Arm Saw is a perfect example of free). I figure that as I gain experience and sell enough product I will be able to upgrade my shop & expand my portfolio.
I root for your success! As far as upgrading your shop that way, well, that's how I did it. I started out with an old table top table saw and old miter saw I got off of Craigslist. I built and sold some furniture on FB Marketplace and slowly acquired more tools, dust collection, etc. It may take time so just be patient, and don't give up too early. Try different things if the first ones don't work out.
Great video and neat project. I do have a question on why you used a 1x12 and ripped it down to 5 1/2 instead of using a 1x6 that would be planed to the same dimension.
Well you have to add time it takes to build them now you are at least $20 min cost. Don't get me wrong nice easy piece to build for yourself but to resell you really have to figure all cost
😲 Kool! But let me give you a old family recipe, nontoxic stain, soak some 0 or 00,000,0000 steel wool in vinegar for a couple of days, makes good rustic stain!
😲 Friend, forgot to mention you can use a chain of your choice to slap your project to give it some rustic appearance or use a nail board to get it to look worm eaten. If you ever want more tips let me know and Thank You! For sharing your good videos!
Hay guy this is insane as just how many people have $5000 worth of shop equipment. Bottom line you didn't make jack when you consider Cody per project. I guess you think we all believe in the tooth fairy.
Anyone who is looking for project ideas likely has a table saw and a miter saw. You can purchase both for under $500. Or just use a handsaw to make the cuts. The tools used in this particular video aren't crazy expensive either, looks like a DeWalt miter saw 2-500 and a job site table saw 3-500. And an angle grinder for 20-50 bucks. But everything could be accomplished with sandpaper and a dollar store handsaw if you're patient. No need for $5000 worth of tools and no need to be negative.
Most of these projects, if not all, can be completed using a circular saw or a jigsaw or even a hand saw, hand drills, screwdrivers, hammer and nails, etc. Use your imagination.
These are the projects that can earn a beginner woodworker enough to buy the tools you have tool envy over. If you have a better idea using hand tools, make a video.

It's just what I had on hand at the time. A scrap piece from a previous project.
@@RonniesWorkshop Ok thanks. I was racking my brain trying to figure out why it would make a difference and was coming up with nothing.
Watching your videos has given me hope again. Thank you for these.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing! What is the nail gun you used in the video?

Idk how your table saw blade didn’t move at all on the front but still cut wood.
it was probably just a camera frame rate thing
That front part isnt the blade its a metal piece that helps keep the wood gaped as cutting it doesnt move
Just a Note: that was Not Min-Wax
Rusticating!!!😂
You're a 'wordcrafting woodcrafter'

Why watch a woodworking video if your just gonna whine about someone's tools? That's kinda the whole point..
