That best performance comes when you’re completely at one with something very difficult that you’re good at. I hope he’s just the flowing, in the moment genius, because if he’s just mad, he’ll do for himself & we’d all be heartbroken. He’s so utterly chilled, nerveless, I’ll take my hat off to him

Interesting, enjoyable and informative, thanks! Always thought Michael is a class apart from the other racers - and no disrespect to them - I admire them all. Remember watching Michael leading against Guy Martin and Guy was simply outclassed. I hope Michael continues to develop and hone his riding skills - where would the TT be without the Dunlops? I remember Joey winning his first race in '77!
thank you. I have followed the careers of all the Dunlops closely going back to when I was a young boy watching Joey when he first came to the island. racing on the island certainly owes a lot to the Dunlop family I agree!
I have seen all the greats at the tt from joey dunlop onward , i believe Micky D is the finest TT rider ever, to watch him only feet away live is truly magical
yes it is amazing watching him race close up, he is my all time most spectacular rider to watch and could achieve the most ever TT wins too if he wants to as I think there is little between Michael, Dean Harrison and Peter Hickman.

Nice work, good video and analysis of Michael’s riding style, I raced against Micheal in a few of the National road races here in Ireland in the late 2000’s his riding style was fairly aggressive. sometimes especially on the two stroke machines it seemed the bike was almost working against him somewhat. Whereas William seemed to be at one with the 125’s and 250’s.

MD is really impressive all over the course! My idol!!! The most exciting rider overall!!! Though guy as well!!! And his personal story give it the mark of a future legend!!!! I got goosebumps even watching it from the internet, I can't imagine what could be addending the TT live!!!!

I can ride, steadily, have done since 1977…..but that’s like comparing shopping in a VW Golf vs threading Monaco at max thrust in an F1 car, I could no more do that that hold in wide open through Gorse Lea….. Kudos & thank you. They’re are true heroes of our era & they’re genuinely unusual, outstanding people, all. Those top, top road racers are something else. Not comparable to top car drivers, possibly some greater similarity to rally? Or free climbing?

IMHO Michael Dunlop is the best rider i have seen at the TT. I remember a couple of years back watching him beat Ian Hutchinson in the senior (shame on you for not mentioning Ian)....and thinking "you can't beat a crazy Irishman who does not care if he lives or dies".....peace to ya.

I live just a few miles from the TT course and a lot of work has been done already getting the course ready for action🙂
0.50 it still amazes me the speeds they do, I hope Michael doesn't go the same way his dad brother and uncle went although I wonder if he sees that as his destiny to go out that way I just hope he has many more yrs to come

@@anthonycubbon741 yeah he uses the run of the bank as a elbow helper....awesome!!, .....(compared to the other runners, he his head and elbows above them). Grab a seat on the wall there, you can back out along the railway line...if u want to move about
I was looking forward to seeing what he could do on that v4 he was due to ride earlier this year but hopefully he can have the same bike at his disposal in 2021! If he does I will definitely be filming it🙂
I saw him riding at the TT last year. Seems to be on the limit, all of the time, much more than the other competitors. Given the history of the family, that is ... I don't know...Scary, in a way?
Michael rides hard for sure, but I think the biggest risk for road racers are often factors out of their control. Robert and William Dunlop’s sad accidents were a result of mechanical failure rather than rider error. I really hope Michael stays fit and well and best of luck to him.
@@anthonycubbon741 I absolutely agree, I am just trying to express my feeling that other guys had still have some margin, however narrow, but MD really goes all in. Do hope he wins one still
@@jdfirestorm it used to be said that even the top riders would ride with some room for error but I think the riding is getting more like a short circuit style with the way Hickman, Harrison and Dunlop ride. So the margins are getting smaller I think and that is why TT races are usually only won one by the odd few seconds these days
But same number of races. Also the two years from when Joey was fighting injury. Also the fact Joey started at an older age. But your statement and mine are irrelevant MD is most likely gonna match possibly break the record.
@@zacharyradford5552 That wasn’t Joey, that was his brother that was injured, joey never missed any seasons due to Injury! There aren’t the same number of races at the TT now and Michael doesn’t compete in the TT zero! Joey had 24yrs at the TT a lot less than Michael. Do some research ffs!
Don't talk nonsence, there is no cruelty involved in bike racing I'm a very old lady, my favourite rider is John Mc Guinness,just keeps on going, hope he does well this year 2023, then hopefully he will hang his boots up. All the competitors deserve to win. I raise a cup of tea and a garabaldi biscuit to them all. Good luck from Dublin.
I said years ago that MD had the biggest balls of anyone in motorsport today.... now I believe he has the biggest heart.
He really rides with a lot of heart and he goes as far as saying there is nobody trying harder on the course than him

I was looking forward to seeing what he could do on that v4 he was due to ride earlier this year but hopefully he can have the same bike at his disposal in 2021! If he does I will definitely be filming it🙂

I saw him riding at the TT last year. Seems to be on the limit, all of the time, much more than the other competitors. Given the history of the family, that is ... I don't know...Scary, in a way?
Michael rides hard for sure, but I think the biggest risk for road racers are often factors out of their control. Robert and William Dunlop’s sad accidents were a result of mechanical failure rather than rider error. I really hope Michael stays fit and well and best of luck to him.

@@jdfirestorm it used to be said that even the top riders would ride with some room for error but I think the riding is getting more like a short circuit style with the way Hickman, Harrison and Dunlop ride. So the margins are getting smaller I think and that is why TT races are usually only won one by the odd few seconds these days
