Also, I just started an audiobook taking place in an alternate Buffy the Vampire Slayer universe called Slayers and stars some of the same voice actors. After listening to your synopsis for Forsaken, I think you may enjoy it if you liked the Buffy series. 🧛
I keep seeing ads for this on FB and I’m definitely curious, but I haven’t clicked into it yet to actually learn more lol. There was definitely a point where I was a Buffy girlie so I might just have to listen for nostalgia’s sake. Thanks for the rec!
I'm doing NaNo my own way this year because as someone without a writing schedule in place and recently discovered to have ADHD, the intensity has not worked for me when I have tried in the past. I would just end up failing and being mad at myself for 'never achieving anything' (which isn't technically true but the voice is loud at the time). So this year I am still going to participate but I will change the goal posts for myself. If I write on 60-70% of the days in November I will class that as a success for myself; no word count in mind. I think I need to get the momentum started without overwhelming myself and being surrounded by all the people who are also participating will really help with that :D
going through the same struggle right now! i have both adhd and autism and every year i've attempted nano, i've "failed", apart from last year when i set a lower word count for myself (30k instead of 50k). this year i am setting an even lower goal for myself due to college.

I totally feel you on the intensity of NaNo! It doesn't help that sometimes November can be a super busy month with family obligations and the impending holidays, so it can sometimes just be a whirlwind of stress where you don't have time to even think about writing. I'm trying to get better at beating myself up for not hitting 50k, because I've been doing this since 2004 and I feel like I definitely have more "losses" than I do "wins," so now I just try and be happy with whatever words I get. Because it's still more words than I initially had! If you ever need a pep talk or just to vent about things, you can always come to me! I'm not good at advice, but I think I'm an alright listener, lol. Good luck to you!! 💖
@@foxfangs4236 That's why I prefer Camp NaNoWriMo! It happens at different times of the year (so no impending holidays for me), AND being able to set your own goals is wonderful. It's like, I love the community and the spirit of excitement when it comes to NaNo, but it can really be so overwhelming when you have other things going on ugh.
I'm sorry I never got around to finishing the first draft of Pine Hollow but I am still excited about this story and can't wait to read the finished draft!
I’m not doing two projects for Nano but boy did I felt seen about writing romance cause it reminds me of fanfic days and passing a notebook around with the story I was writing long hand. Cheering you on!!
YES! Those were the days! I can’t imagine doing that nowadays when I need to obsessively edit and try to make my stories as perfect as possible before anyone lays a single eye on them! 😂 Thank you!! 💖
