  • Her books have been read by millions across the world, brilliantly articulate, universal stories that everyone can easily understand, tales to get lost in, full of endless possibilities and impossible complexities, dripping with the contradictions and juxtapositions of life - so much suffering and smiling, so much energy and inspiration. It is this rousing talent that's turned Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie into a best-selling author, placing her in the top tier of not just African, but global writers, in the elite company of Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, J.K Rowling, Ken Follett, Dan Brown and Alicia Walker, to mention a few. To read her fiction is to experience an awakening...But the best part of it is she's Nigerian...The world burns bright as we tell the story of our special guest today, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

One can't help but notice how the loss of her parents has taken its toll on her. You hear the pain in her voice. I will definitely search for that book on grief and read it as I had lost my dad. She's a beautiful soul who has put this country at the limelight positively. I love her and I love her works.

This lady when ever I hear her talking, she remind me my little sister's dream when we were kids. she had a very big dream, she was talking about it all the time, but unfortunately my parents forced her into marriage. I am still remembering her dream, when she was standing in front of us and starting her speech for hours trying to convince my parents that she was going to change our neighborhood, the city, and the country.

I took my daughter to the library 2 weeks ago to go pick up the books she was suppose to read during this summer break and write on. I was surprised and excessively excited to note that one of them was a book by Chimamanda. My daughter just watched me with all smiles and not understanding why i was so excited. to cut the story short, i told her the writer was my sister period hehehehe !

I wrote exactly as he would and when I read a part out loud at his funeral, people were astonished and told me that I am truly my father’s daughter. When I hear her talk, I am drawn in and it feels like she is my close relative. My heart bred when I heard of your grief one after another. May God continue to uphold you and your loved ones🙏🏽♥️. This woman’s literary work truly is priceless. NOTES ON GRIEF is gut-wrenching but AMERICANAH is the greatest novel ever written by an African writer and one of the finest novel ever written by anyone anywhere. There I said it. HALF OF A YELLOW SUN is also great and may have had more critical acclaim but as far as I’m concerned, as a reader and a small time novelist myself, AMERICANAH is next level great. Readers should also check ZIKORA which a masterpiece of a short story in my opinion.

Yes, it is greater than THINGS FALL APART in my honest opinion. Of course, TFA is more influential but AMERICANAH’s storyline is actually more interesting (you can barely put it down) and better written, in my opinion. I believe that AMERICANAH is a sure shot neo-classic.

      Always the case, sadly!
There’s a certain closeness of mind that has become a characteristic feature of those parts, especially these days. Such terrible self-inflicted insularity of mind, I say.
You’d think they don’t value such outstanding talents, until one of theirs appears on the horizon, which southerners wouldn’t hesitate to equally eulogise, especially, for the sake of associated prowess. Why not?
However, I must point out that I detect a certain trend, to totally ‘Igbonise’ and essentially claim her, which I detest. Let her be the Nigerian and world figure she has become through her dint of hard work and remarkable brilliance. We all know she has an Igbo root. But she mustn’t be gagged and stunted with it!
She has attained the status of a world writer. She must be allowed to flourish on that stage, to the glory of all.

FBI espoused Abba Kyari /Hushpuppi . What about the Army boss that was collecting money from HAMISU WADUME the kidnapper to provides protection for hem and his gang , and even killed 4 police officers just to set a criminal free? Do we need FBI for the police officers to get justice?

Thank God for people like you that don't forget things easily. Hamisu Wadume has been forgotten by the media, just like that. The link between politicians and terrorists, just ignored and case closed. That army officer's name was Tijani or something like that.

Why "International Author" Can't she be an African author or a Nigeria author or even better an Igbo author. Does it bother you to be African and talented?

She actually is international because she is recognized not just in Nigeria.

They mean international because she’s lived abroad in America since 19. Of course she will always be Igbo/African first.
