- Welcome to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Roulette! In this series @MBTYuGiOh and I each spin a wheel featuring every Secret Pack in Master Duel. We then build decks using 20 of only those Secret Packs before playing a Match to determine that episode’s winner. The winner of each episode gets to decide if they want the first or second Secret Pack from the wheel during the next episode, but they must choose before seeing what the second spin lands on! MBT’s protagonist powers are becoming so strong that I feel like if we gave Dzeef full power spright, MBT could play a yugi structure deck and pull exodia turn 2.

It's especially silly now because he's all like "Oh man I'm familiar with Infernity, yada yada" and then makes a deck which does not function at its core aka bring out its boss monsters. Feels like this series isn't for him due to the knowledge required (which MBT clearly has, as he said he'd find a way if he played Doug's deck which he absolutely would). This ep is just clear proof that it ain't about MBT's pulls.

On that turn where you activated inferno:
if you had sent archfiend + wildcat then revived them with mirage
archfiend gets launcher, wildcat banishes mirage to make itself lv4, make 1st void ogre
use launcher 2nd effect revive archfiend + patriarch get break/barrier
also mbt's deck had no out to guardian
His out to Guardian was literally to hope Dzeef filled all his spaces with cards he couldn't use and draw an into the void

This is the most humiliating loss doug has ever had. How will he ever come back from this.
Have we ever had a Constructed duel between Dzeeff and MBT with both using their strongest possible decks on the current TCG banlist? That might be what it takes. I'm surprised that we haven't had such a matchup using full power 2022 meta decks yet. MBT could make the Solitaire entertaining and Doug would actually have a chance to use his incredible alleged netdecking powers.
the thing is dzeef forgor to read so badly, he didn't realize he only has 1 way of summong void ogre, his "wincon" as he described it, until the end of teh matches
how do you go thru an entire deckbuilding process, with a card as your wincon in your head, and not once ask yourself "how will I bring this out"
I think MBT's super power is giving dzeef astigmatism whenever he picks up a new deck.
To be fair, you need to have a very high IQ to understand "Scientific Analysis". His power ceiling is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of deck building and card ratios, this pack will go over a typical player's head. There is also MBT's playstyle, which is deftly woven into his characterisation - his personal philosophy draws heavily from Yugi Muto and the hearth of the cards, for instance. The average MBT viewers understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these combos, to realize that they're not just poggers- they say something deep about Yu-Gi-Oh.

The refusal to search break and/or summon guardian (which MBT had no out to) is painful
This is was the best episode so far. The first game was truly an anime episode: mbt summoning his ace monster with 2500 attack to destroy Dzeffs field. Dzeff then destroys guardian Eatos only for mbt to summon a 2800 defense vanilla monster. I could hear Dzeffs anime monologue: "his monster is strong. I can't defeat it, but I still have 'that' card in my extra deck"
Doug, getting bodied by a Gemini support card at 34:35: “Every single turn just pop a card? Like, what am I supposed to do?”

It's really funny watching this series where MBT is the protagonist after watching his season of the Chaos Draft where he was steadily forced to come to terms with the possibility he _wasn't_ the protagonist.

Baba Barber is actually extremely good in Valkyries specifically, due to Mischief of the Time Goddess requiring you to control only Valkyries. Often times the line is Normal Diviner of the Heralds, send Trias, Trias effect Tribute Diviner, Special Valkyrie Sechste, then pop off, getting all your Valkyries on board, then Linking off the Trias and Sechste for Baba Barber, who can then tag out in BP, leaving your board with only the powerful Valkyrie monsters.
Even if it wasn't the not-reading-cards synchro solution to his hyperfixation on Beetle, I still find it baffling that he apparently stuck his nose up at Destroyer then on the same brainwave looked at the 2-tribute B.E.S. he pulled and thought "yeah, that's way better for my deck's one designated big guy slot."
Dzeeff should've played the poopy infernity monsters, I'm sure there was a level 6 infernity monster that is a vanilla in action

Yeah I saw the what the issue was gonna be with Doug’s deck the moment I saw it.
If you ever tried to make infernity work in duel links you’d probably have anticipated the need for a level 6 infernity monster to synchro beetle with.
It’s unfortunate because I made literally the same exact mistake in duel links when I tried to make infernity work. It’s too bad because I do think the infernity deck has all the pieces it needed to win.

ive been playing infernity for a long time and i can say it makes sense why doug would prioritize searching barrier over anything else since thats usually the contructed strat, but first turn searching avenger then normal summon avenger woudlve made a void ogre dragon and done a lot more than a single barrier, especially since hydro wouldnt have had a monster to beat over

I think Doug made a mistake with his deck building by not including Infernity Archer and Destroyer. In a sealed environment I feel like those cards + Beetle is the only reasonable way to make Level 8 synchros reliably. And yeah those cards are bricks but that's what Infernity Inferno and the other discard cards are for. You really can't avoid bricking in Infernity to an extent, it's designed to be all or nothing

Whenever I watch the Master Saga or Roulette, I always wonder what your plan is for Deck building.
In general I always see you aim for the Archtype of the Pack you pull, but most of the time I wonder if you actually have a game plan in your head
as to what line of play might win you the game with the deck you just build and what cards may help out with that.
(This episode you had triple Void Orge Dragon but went for an Infernity engine instead of spamming ways to get it on the field)

Problem with Doug is that his deck building doesn't have that 1 strategy he always needs to get, while MBT usually does. You should've done everything you can to at least summon Void Ogre and just see where it goes from there. Literally fit in like a vanilla total 6* monster you can tribute summon out to chain into Ogre if need be. But you just ignore most of the cards on the left side of the packs if they're not SR or UR, while Joseph usually reacts to anything that's playable.
Yes, he fucking pulled Psy-frame Driver. He could've easily used that and beetle to make Ogre

Baba Barber actually does have like one use of note, which is that you can reset cards with once while face up on the field effects. It's almost pointless in the modern game where you don't usually lose cards to battle or really get to take advantage of something like that turn after turn, but it's kind of insane on the right cards in a Sealed format. Also really funny MBT couldn't out Guardian

Infernity was one of my first introductions to real power in yugioh too. The absolute first was blackwing and gale the whirlwind is still my favorite card to this day but infernity was so fun.
That being said yeah lmao just because a deck is good in constructed doesn't mean its good in sealed. This applies to yugioh probably the most of any card game lol

You would have summoned Void Ogre easily and consistently if you had used Infernity Avenger. Doug, you could have 2-0'd MBT so easily and it bothers me that you didn't know Avenger is a level 1 tuner.
Well, In my opinion you shouldn't build and play the infernity deck with the normal combo mindset in seal. The infernity pack doesn't have the good extra deck card so maybe a more of a infernity control playstyle using force, break and barrier to get advantage should let you win the game easily

you can't build Infernities with sealed cards, you need a lot of Lv 6 Synchros to get anything done. The deck aims to combo or OTK in a single turn, or make a big boss like the Lv 12 Blackwing card, that would have had protection against destruction. Without those you die to a single destruction effect and MBT had one per turn.

I basically know how it feels to pull a royal you can’t use on your main account. I technically only have 1 account but all my royals are part of decks that I can’t afford to make lmao. Luckily I don’t plant to ever quit master duel so hopefully in the next year I’ll be able to use a royal lmao
Edit: pulled a Royal Jet today and honestly wish I could trade it to someone who play a top tier Blue Eyes deck.
