I love seeing just how simple life was in Samoa back in the old days, the fact that in 27 years A LOT has changed.. its astonishing to say the least. A lot of the other pacific islands still look the same as they did in the 90s lol however Samoa is definitely keeping up with the times yet still manages to keep its traditions and customs alive, and that’s what makes me proud to be Samoan ❤️

Yeah gotta say as a local this country is modernising real fast.
We’ve switched from agriculture to industrial techniques.
It’s also quiet bad because there’s been a lot of gun deaths in Apia recently

It is a beautiful place to grow up in. I was so sad when I had to leave and embarrassing when arriving at Auckland airport and didn’t know how to get on the escalator and falling over

@@nutsauce8351 yes I love it there I wanted to stay there when I went to see my pa in 2008 that was my second trip but I had to come back for work. My last time there was January 2019 my dad and I went to get my Malu we stayed in millennium hotel so I was close to the Samoan tourism for Suluape. But that Christmas period into the time we went there were issues with Samoa airways our flight was delayed from NZ for 2 hours we arrived in faleolo at 11pm and got to town at nearly 1am.. I love it there though aye so peaceful and happy all the time ❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼

I was in Apia and the other side of the island as well as Savaii. for 2 months in 1993 . My first stop on a year - long bike packing trip. It was a climate and cultural shock for me as a young Canadian exiting a winter ski season venturing to the tropics . My heart will always have a special place for Samoan culture and it's islanders . Thank you so much for this video. Talofa safoua . i miss you.

Le ele’ele ua le malie i vai
    Si’ufofoga fia fa’alogo ai
O lau amio o le agavaivai
    Sosolo i ivi o’o i le fai’ai
    (TALI)
La’u pele ua e polepole vale
    Ua e tu’u i le uta a le vale
    Ua e le onosa’i ma e fa’apalepale
Po’o sou tofi ita mai le lagi

Ma lo’u loto ua tumu i le alofa
    Fia va’ai ia oe Fa’ailoa
