I remember up until 1992 you could still find a couple of Steve The Tramp figs hanging on the pegs in the dollar spots. Years later I bought up the whole set of figures except for The Blank. Even got the gangster car.

As a kid I used to do these guys vs. tmnt. So much fun. And glad you said what was up with the Blank release. Even in a small town in New Mexico I was able to collect every figure except for Flattop and The Blank. It makes sense now why I couldn't find them. Or at least Blank.

Another awesome video Dan. I got into Dick Tracy through the animated cartoon that was on TV. It was an awesome show and this is an awesome toyline, makes you pine for those days when everything had an action figure line.
I ultimately ended up with almost all of them, except for the Rodent and of course the Blank. Apparently the Steve the Tramp toy was pulled from shelves because of a minister who worked with the homeless who thought that a character who was described as a "reeking piece of filth" and "stinking up the sewers" and perpetuated negative stereotypes about the homeless was inappropriate for a child's toy.
I had some when I was little but these toys were fragile. I remember both hands coming off ones of my action figures. I’m also surprised that they have not thought of doing a remake after all these years .
I loved those and i still have them displayed ,so funny that u made this review now , cause after having those for 10 yrs or so only now i managed to find a roddent figure ... the blank is too pricey .
These were always hard to find. I never found the blank and barely found prune face. The Sam catchem was hard to find too. The shelves were filled with mumbles.
Pixel Dan, what are some other toy lines based off 80s / 90s movies? I know of the Batman lines, Terminator, Jurassic Park, Robocop... But what others do you know of?
My brother gave some of these along with some ninja turtles to my sons a couple of years ago. He is having a boy pretty soon so I think I will give them back so he can enjoy them with his son!
not sure why this line of figures didnt do as well as they hoped. I liked the movie and the figures! playmates did a great job! who cares if they took after the turtle line...the turtles are badass!!!
If super 7 or another organization gets the licensing for this to remake it and it's done right especially with updated cool gimmicks ill buy it. And I Brett others will also out it's done right
My relatives got me all the figures (except Blank). I was too young to remember, but I was most definitely less than satisfied. I loved the movie and I asked to keep the man himself, Tracy, but I did not object to my family returning the figures back to the departments store they came from. I do remember that a bargain was struck to get something else from these same relatives, but I think they weren't so happy that I rejected their offer. I never got a replacement gift that year.
Weird that his coat wasn't made some how if the made one on the blank, without the coat he just looks like Curious George guy, apparently he even had a yellow suit. Funny too these look more like the characters in the movie than some toys today.

The one with big nose was Rodent one of Lip Manlis men killed in warehouse at the beginning of movie and he had high pitched voice

What about the cars? There was a cop car and a gangster one. They had hidden compartments for weapons
theres 4 blanks on ebay for over a grand each. thats crazy
